I have not been to America, I have been European countries, I may not have idea of how things work in America but it's definitely not as rosey as you painted it.

Moving to US, Canada, and Australia (UK is not my thing) as a permanent residence is much much much better! Infact a million times better. I can understand if you're moving there on a regular visa then I might tell you that it won't be easy but going as a reseidence? Come on guys! You can't compare death (nigeria) to sleep (US, Canada, Australia).
And before you lecture me on any stupid business which is all I do and have been doing for over 15 years between Nigeria and US where I Live, don't forget the risk. I've done businesses here that would've rendered me broke/useless if it was in Nigeria and ended up smiling. I go to bed every night not caring if everything both at home and business location burn down tonight!

Moving to US with or as a permanent residence already gave you a whole lot of right, power, qualifications, etc compare to moving there on a regular visa.

Though it's not our (Nigerian immigrants) style, but as a residence there are programs that can put you in a house, feed you, and pay your school fees 100% job or no job. Don't miss things up as in coming with greencard/citizen to coming here on a regular visiting visa.

If you have marketable qualifications and skills and a U.S. green card you will be able to make a great salary. So this is a tough decision to make ... I will take the green card
