With 20 million you will realise there are medicall conditions that cannot be treated living in naija. Many Nigerian die unnecessarily from preventable illnesses, infections, emergencies, asthmatic attacks, childbirth, road traffic accident;insecurity, lack of opportunities,no fuel,no electricity,no water,no good roads, the list is endless.Even with one billion I will still choose to live abroad where I am.
I do not lock my doors when going out or at night before sleeping,I can plan ahead as policies here are predictable.you don't need connection to get any job,it's based on your merit,we have had medical issues and the ambulance is in front of the house in five minutes or less, same with fire service.i have lived here ten years and the light has never blinked.there are more than enough opportunities, grants, loans to improve yourself academically without help of God father.if u have issue, you have access to Govt ministers if u really need to..u get audience.
How can your 20 million naira in naija make one's life better than what I describe above.i live in one of the European countries.kids are on school break now,the have already paid my kids the money for the school uniform, shoes, stationeries etc...

God bless you....my point is even with 50 million naira, for u to live a valuable life here u have to put many things in place 4 urself which on a good day r just basic needs dat should b provided by the government nd dats a minus for "ur to b investment". one can triple the 20million naira here in nigeria if u invest well and things goes as planned bt what about the security challenge? the insecurity rate is at its all tym high nw...its either ur kidnapped and ur family is being asked for ransome etc den u ask urself, is it worth it working so hard in life and continue to live in fear, d way some rich men guard themselves in this country u will think nigeria is currently at war....although it is not absolute that ur going to b wealthy going to america bt one should be able to live a life beffitting a human and if am to choose, i wont wait for the card to turn green b4 i move

Honestly, money is good but think about security, good life, 24/7 electricity, good environment and good roads..,US is the best option.

nd u think 10m can do all that in abuja? Let me tell u..dt 10m can only gt u half plot of land in abuja..

You surely do not live in Abuja or have the slightest knowledge of cost of land in Abuja. You can get plots of land in Lugbe around the airport road for N3million and closer to the airport for much less.

Don't emphasize on things you don't have full knowledge of!

Interesting viewpoints. It's amazing how much society can affect people's mindset. We have folks thinking "I want it here and now", and few others looking constructively into the future.

Until you live in a sane functioning society with abundance of opportunities and security, you won't understand that N20mil is nothing. In fact, being monetarily "rich" in Nigeria means nothing.

Nobody is safe in Nigeria - rich or poor - and nothing is predictable, except further deterioration. We live in mansions powered by generators (health hazard) and boreholes, burglary proofs, 15ft fences and gates. Essentially you're a prisoner in your own house! The more you make the more scared you are of your life and your family's. Poor infrastructure and mindset everywhere! No accountability.

Again, until you live in a sane functioning society, you won't understand.

If you understand the way america is then you'll understand. Yes they chose. Why am i not homeless. They were born there. So why couldn't they do what i did? At least you have to consider that i went there with nothing. Think. Don't just argue for the sake of it. Google won't help you in this instance. You have to live it to understand it.

They are still of higher value than your Ikorodu/Mowe/Ofada lands and have much higher RETURN-ON-INVESTMENT than the Ikorodu/Mowe/Ofada lands. Rent in Lugbe now for a 2-bedroom flat is going for N750000 -N800000 per year; 3-bedroom flat is going for at least N1 million per year. Tell me where in Ikorodu (even in Agric which is the 'Ikoyi' of Ikorodu) or Mowe or Ofada can you get such properties with such rent?

Take note - I reside in Lagos but have some commitments in Abuja and by virtue of my profession in the Construction sector, I know that it costs cheaper to build in Abuja than in Lagos. I have undertaken projects in both cities even in recent times so I can tell you that for free.

this question is all about perspective and present position in life and society. I can bet you that anyone who is educated and presently working in naija and who has access to above 2million will gladly go for the green card. Cos they now understand d value of our naira. Personally, if I get that opportunity, having lived and worked in naija and knowing dat with the economic environment here that 20m can disappear in 2years if I am not careful, I will quickly go for the green card. Anybody who want me to stay in naija will have to raise the stakes at least 5 times higher. 100million.
