Hello All. Good news right here. Gtbank has started giving PTA. But your account must have been opened for at least 3 months.

Oops my bad!!! Was just told it has been suspended briefly. Will update once they resume selling.

2million a month on textile doesn't seem realistic couple with d fact that u have 7million in ur account.. If u are earning that, ur account shld b way above that. Don't forget people who earn 500k and below go with statements that has ur figure.

Use ur lowest sale(profit) for the month as ur earning..,
2million is like $10k
These people see us as liars
Then u now said because d hospital is affordable (ur monthly earning doesn't allow that statement)

Look for a more expensive hospital and a more expensive apartment... Dr F isn't expensive at least for ur monthly earnings

Good luck.. Don't forget to PRAY and ask God for favour

Hi house, my hubby went for interview this morning and was denied, guess it's my fault cos I didn't give him my last delivery receipt, I totally forgot, dunno what I was thinking shaa. he said dat was what dey asked him for and how much I paid for the hospital bills. They told him dat he wasn't prepared in his last application we all went for in 2013 and he is still not prepared now. I was thinking since that's the only thing they wanted, they would have told him to go get it and come back. Dunno if he shud reapply (dats if he will agree sef lol) but the next available date now is September, can I still get available date sometime this august cos I plan to travel by September? And How?

@lizzylilly....@firsttymum n olokings totally agree wit u guys dats what came to mind as I read it.they didn't believe d earning n u can't change it cos they ave d info already so just look for an expensive hospital not even doc.FF n a really nice n comfy accommodation like a two bedroom furnished to match up d earnings.
This just reminded me when we went for our interview in Abuja n a lady before us said she earns 50million monthly from her business the VO asked what kind of business is dat,she said she imports dried fish from Thailand n dat was it they denied her d visa.so changing d amount now will make u appear as though u lied earlier so just get expensive hospital n and accommodation to match up.

I posted this b4 but for some reason it disappeared. My sister just had a baby at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. Hospital 2000$, Dr 2055$, tests bothbmum and baby 775$, 80$ for each antenatal visit tho another nairaland mum got 30$ (had only one visit, gave birth at 36weeks) 130$ for doctor's visit after delivery and 105$ for peadiatrician. The obgyn dr is with Access group affiliated to Mount Sinai hospital. Hope it helps

congrats Ewa. landed newyork yesterday and going to wucoff today. was your delivery at MMC normal or CS

ewa2014:
In the spirit of giving back, I had my baby some days ago in New York. I checked Wycoff, Queens Medical Center, kings county hospital Brooklyn, jamaica hospital, new York Hospital Queens but eventually settled with MMC (Mercy Medical Center) cos they had a straight forward pricing and honestly I got top notch satisfaction from the level of care I received.

Prenatal visits and care, tests, sonogram and delivery cost at the hospital's care center is 1100;
2 days hospital stay with sumptuous food (and a celebration dinner for the couple...LoL. let's just say I like food too much sha ) is 6000;
Epidural 1000.
Several tests and vaccines were administered during the 2 days stay and it's all inclusive in what you paid (tdap, hep B, hearing test, vit K, etc etc).
2 post partum visit for mother is also included but you pay 85 for pediatrician to see baby after discharge.

I got all my receipts and awaiting Zero balance letter.

BC and SSN is being processed by the hospital and I can start passport application afterwads.

All in all, fantastic hospital and experience.

And HONESTLY we need to start combing out new hospitals as well that will be beneficial to others too..

I think it may be more of a confusion between turnover/ sales and net earnings. While the former refers to actual sales, the latter tracks profit after all business expenses which may or may not include salary of the owner. I think she still has a chance to change it if she made an honest mistake. In my opinion, earnings quoted on the form should be the after tax profit from the business or after tax income she earns as salary from the business. She can explain this when she goes back.

The key here is that our business people should try to understand all these terms and use them appropriately at interviews.

The VO is interested in how much you have available to spend, and that isn't sales. So one needs to break it down by saying I sell bla bla, my profit margin is bla bla bla e.t.c. So it is clearer.

This is just in case she quoted sales instead of profits though...

If otherwise, then olokings and co have suggested the way forward.

@LadyG and Olokings - interestingly, while that amount sounds high, it may be correct. You will be amazed at how much turnover people post in small businesses. Don't forget Nigeria's population. Also, if she imports, surely, she must be selling to wholesalers and not homes like us. For a B to B business, 50m a month turnover is not huge.

I guess it's the same confusion between turnover and earnings though. Cause her profit margin on it may not more than 5% after all expenses considered.

@i also couldn't hold my laughter there cos to me it was unrealistic, dat amount from dried fish.cos everyone will b into dat biz.so like fiancéfitness said lets b careful what we quote especially business wise, cos they check d inflow n outflow of cash into d account n d balance has to correspond wit d amount said.

Abuja is less crowdy so u might b lucky... Abeg package ogas burden of proof for him and "school" him if possible... U that read this thread have more experience.

As dem no gree answer u na, u gats do copy and paste grin
Let me attempt to answer you ( I stand corrected )
Concentrate on ur US visa, (if u like have all the visas whether expired or not, if they wanna deny, dey will)
Gather your burden of proof ( I assume u know what that is)
Read the thread from part 1 to this page grin
If u read through the thread you'll see "testimonies" or preggy mums who went for visa interview with virgin passports, they've never travelled outside lagos sef (just kidding).
So get ur pen and jotter and start reading( if u hate to write Oya open msword connect ur printer and start copying pasting and printing)
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by olokings(m): 2:07pm On Aug 05, 2015
Hello.
I'd say y'all apply as a family.
He should be the principal and definitely the one who's gonna be chatting with the VO. Apparently he has travel history as such during the interview can score some points on that.
Wen it comes to purpose for the trip he'd say family vacation and child birth.
Wanna give his family a gud time vacation at the states and also have his wifey (u) deliver there cos he always luvs to be around during delivery of his kids plus he owes u guys a vacation. ..

Now note this:
Don't even bother leaning towards El paso , Houston or phoenix, (given d story above these are not entirely vacation spots for family).
Accommodation should buttress ur story for vacation so dump the extremely economical reservations (that doesn't mean you should go ahead and pay booking though).
Get quotes from a moderately priced hospital and possibly doctor too.
Draw up a budget sheet to cover both the vacation and childbirth.
Have a single (2 max) account statements to cover ur budget comfortably.
He should demonstrate to the VO that he's got everything all planned out organised and ready to implement.
Now as per relative when asked if u have, don't just say you are going to visit n stay with them, that negates your story for family vacation. You may pass by n say hello or not even visit at all cos you won't have the time to divert the family tracks.

Gud luck with ur endeavours. ..
I hope this helps. ..
With more from the NL vets I trust ur wish ll be actualize.

6k is for two days hospital stay for VD ... Hospitals in New York ain't smiling o, some give you quotes per day sef ... LoL.

Doctor falls under the 1100. Which also includes prenatal care, ur drugs, sonogram, prenatal tests, etc etc..

People who don't know about the 1100 end up paying 6000 for the 2 days hospital stay and additional 3000-4000 for gettin their own doctors.. I almost did this, intact I contacted to Nigerians doctors affiliated to the hospital before I found out about the all encompassing self pay 1100 discounted rate.

So it's best to use the full hospital package with their own doctors ...

Congrats! How does one make an appointment at the hospital? Do they accept over the phone appointment or it has to be in person? Thanks

Hmm... That UK rejection stamp is going to be a flag. They will likely ask you for why you were rejected and quoting insufficient funds doesn't help your medical tourism application.

I will strongly recommend you reapply for a UK visa first before you proceed to US.

British embassy is more lenient to first timers and would generally issue you a visa with proper documentation.

I have always used tourist visa and would usually just book hotels to avoid all these letter of invitation drama.

But honestly, has your circumstance really changed? I.e you now earn or have more money?
