Hi adventurous mothers, ave followed and loved reading all your adventures abroad with your lovely bumps. My babysis is about to do this as she's finally preggy after few years of wait. She has filled her form and scheduled an appointment guided by me. Here is a bit of her profile, married, just passed out this last batch but her hubby can foot the bills well.
Q1) does her not working have a bad vibe on her interview.
Q2) she filled she's travelling with hubby but when filling her Hubby's form, she filled that'll he will come later to witness the birth as he's crazily busy. Is she supposed to say no when asked in her own form if she's travelling with someone? If she's supposed to say no, can she correct the form and how?
3)Our eldest sister is a citizen in the U.S with her family and a registered nurse, our parents are currently there on green card. Is this a positive point for her or not? We got hospital bills from the hospital where she works in california.

Don't mind my many questions, anticipating your answers.
Lemme try answering your questions:
1. No, her not working is inconsequential. Housewives are being granted visa daily

2. What she filled is okay. I also filled travelling with hubby in mine but I went for the interview alone cos hubby had a different interview date from mine due to some delays. I was asked if I was travelling with him and I said yes, but we couldn't get same date. Asked if he already had his visa, said No. That was it. Eventually didn't travel with him and it wasn't an issue though he'll join me later.

3. That could swing both ways, positive or negative. In my opinion, more of negative because the VO may look at it that since her parents and sister are citizens/ green card holders, she may likely not return if granted visa. My advice is that she displays enough strong ties to bring her back to her country during her interview.

Live and direct from naija, in the spirit of giving back, this forum has been of help in my missionary journey grin

My journey started in may,re newed visa via dropbox, I had to write the embassy of my intent, well I got the general reply.

Flew Delta airline to houston via Atlanta been POE,it was a smooth pass all thanks to God for hearing my prayers. Aside from the general questions was only told to sign a form to declare my cash since it was over 10k.

The queue was long due to flights coming in at the same time, before I could connect, I missed my flight to houston. I had to be change my tickect to the next connectin flight leaving for houston.
Got to houston by 11:30am since I chose to use soul care concierge a car was waiting to pick me to my accommodation.
I used Houston methodist hospital sugarland, Dr zee Amajoh was my doctor, Relax and wait for the part 2 of my missionary journey grin.

Madam congratulation on your bundle of joy. Abeg complete the part 2 of your missionary journey now. I dey wait.

Hello everyone. .v bn in the #silentreader team..but in thd spirit of giving back coz the trend had bn so helpful.
Heres my visa interview / POE story
First the visa interview...
Applied for the B1/B2 visa with my husband and went for the interview when i was 27weeks plus...
Travelling purpose ...vacation...yh i know that was a bit somehow considering pregnancy state and how far along i was. .but we decided to put it that way and try our luck as statement of account was not really on the fat side...
At the interview.. (lagos).
Hubby greets the V.O; hello how are you today?
V.O: fine thank you, and you?...and we both replied.
V.O; so how long have u guys bn married? (Faces me)
Me; about 6months
V.O; any kids?
Me; no not yet
V.O; are you expecting?
Me; yes , i am
V.O; when are you due?
Me; November ( oops wasnt totally honest dere as i was scared he will ask for doctors correspondence. .which i didn't have..actual due date is in September )
V.O; are you planning to have your baby in the US
Me: yes i am..but maybe not with this trip
V.O; ok, i see you guys went to ireland for honeymoon...so u want to go for summer.
We; yes
He then ask questions about what we do and where are going in the states and who we are staying with.
He Didn't ask for any of our documents.
Granted us the visa n wished us a lovely summer vacation.

I travelled at 32 weeks...flew emirates. .travelled alone..
Didnt mail the embassy about the change of intent tin..although the trip is now summer/birthing and not summer alone...decided to risk it since i dint lie about my intentions to give birth in the first place.

Flight was long and tiring. ..altho i was pampered by the flight attendants..they gave me everything i wanted..lol. .
POE was newyork...chai..abit tricky but i held on to my faith..lol. il give the full gist in abit

You don't have to wait till you are six months, so you can have more than enough time to plan.

Morning NLs, I wanted Madam to feel the breeze and relax well before I interrogate her for the POE experience, so as informed she was so Thirsty for water on her route from Lagos to Dubai, but when she boarded Dubai NY some very nice Hostess just followed her before she sat down with a very big bottle of water, in fact in her own words she still dey drink the water till now for NY (lollllllllllll). then comes the real action film as quoted "
my wife's experience at POE jfk newyork,

Cbp: (looks at passport) Goodmorning Mrs Bleep
Me : Goodmorning
Cbp: so...u're here on holiday
Me : yes,and childbirth
Cbp: Are you resident here in the US?
Me : No,i reside in Nigeria
Cbp: so you came for childbirth on your visa? (abeg which kain question be ds sha!)
Me : yes,my husband and i already informed the Embassy.
Cbp: so...boy or girl ( he come dey laff)
Me : we want it to be a suprise ( like say i go tel am b4? lol)
Cbp: hahaha. twins?
Me : no, no, one for now pls!
Cbp: whicheva it is,boy or girl, they all are bundles of joy! ( honestly d guy come dey laff me sef follow join lafta)
Cbp: place your fingers here please and look into the camera over here

And dat was it! stamped my passport ,no 6months anything just ordinary stamp wt d day's date on it.He no ask how much i carry,if hubby is coming over, what i do, who's sponsorin etc etc, whereas i don study FAQ & answer like say na exam!Me wey i carry letter /correspondence from embassy, letter of my appointment wt a hospital in newyork, statement of a/c sef walahi i carry all insyd one big envelope like dat, didnt make use of it. no secondary inspection,no agriculture/ scan tins yet all my egusi, ogbono and dried ugu and bitter leaf wey i carry come follow me go.!--------------while me as papa was busy in church and praying for her too , (abeg I no fit shout)
My people me I bless God its just favour met with preparation o!

Greetings,
While it's "very nice and caring of you" of you to assist your *sister in having her baby in the states, I summize she's the *one who will be invited for the interview with the VO. (unless your sister is *u that is)
You will be nicer and more carrying of you introduce her to register and log on to NL community and start reading and arming herself up with knowledge.

By the way, since she has not gone for the *interview govern the information *you made available to us, let her wiggly tk a few days and read even if it's part 2 of this thread then fill a new/fresh form on her own all by her self. (*unless you are an/her travel agent I dare say because ryt now to be sincere, you are striking me as one! ).

Please remind her to identify herself when she does and even look out /call out to me after reading. ..we are all here for her if/when she put in the work to research for clarity. ...

PS: jump id n we still be a way of figuring out.

Bid *her gud luck and success in her prospective medical venture to the states specialty from moi.

Thank You olokings for your replies, she reads sometimes as a guest though. I will try and persuade her to join, I am not an agent ( lol) but I understand why you will think that looking at my profile, thanks anyways for your replies, am grateful.
