I experienced it once when I was about 7 years old. I was running an errand for my mum and decided to choose a shorter route. I was singing and excited for a reason I cannot remember. Then I passed in-between two uncompleted buildings. The fences were so narrow like typical Lagos buildings.

Suddenly, I looked up and saw a dog staring at me. Then it started walking towards me. Very narrow wall. I froze. I stopped singing. I started crying. The dog walked closer looking mean and angry. I ran. The dog barked and ran after me.

Then I fell. The dog charged towards me and barked right at my face. Then it climbed over me and went the other way.

For a young child, that was a terrible experience that gives me goose bumps each time I remember. I refuse to forgive that dog and every other dog. I cannot simply love a dog. It has become natural. I was disrespected, ridiculed and bullied by one of them without an apology!

close to my crib there is this house owned by 6 dogs the aggressive once are capon and bull once the gate is opened you have to stay were you are no movement one Faithful day normally i and my pals do gather up by 3:30pm for football so the ball started for like 20min my friend (ak) was with the ball and i was close to him make i change English na so the gate open the owner of the dog was driving out those i was playing ball with quickly climbed the nearest tree they shouted i and ak's name before we could turn back see the two dogs i could not move my feet when i looked at my friend(ak) he was two building away i followed in the running they ran after us my busstop is just like express road you have carefully for us there was no time to look we just ran across the road i didn't know when i passed my mom shop we were faster than fast and furious what was ringing in my head was (run,dog,run,dog) on the marathon run with the dogs we came across an opened gate and closed it with full speed after some minutes the owner came to take the dogs away when we got to my mom shop she was like were we the one that ran across her shop we said yes she started laughing saying what she heard was zoom,zoom(i and ak) we were running like fowls

I was in secondary school then in JSS class(cnt recal wch now) and we had jus crossed Akerele post office end going into onilegogoro and jus by d canal dat will tak u towards "iya bobs elewa"(dos who went to school arnd der shd knw)one scrawny and wicked looking dog came at us,and ran. Mine was in the village. I think i was 15 then. I went to one of our family friends who own a dog. I cannot remember what happened but he suddenly called the dog and pointed at me. I took to my heels. The dog chased. I ran, thank goodness for my long legs. I curved at a bend and by my left i saw my old uncle seated outside. I flew myself to him while he chased the dog with his stick.

After the whole episode i retraced my sway back and i could still see my foot prints. The distance between my two feets shows my legs are indeed very long when running. I couldn't believe they were like 1 meters apart. Thats what happens when you run for your life

it all happened some long long years ago, was chasing a childhood friend dat pissed me off nd he ran into a neighbour's compound fortunately for him he ran passed d dog without d dog noticing (d guy na Ussain Bolt o) I wasn't so lucky d dog got up and chased me, I ran as my legs cld carry me buh d guy left some teeth print on my hills, I think say I go begin bark like dog,,,buh tnk God I was treated well by d owner of d bog

I still remember that day. It was in 2003 when i lost my mum and my grandmum asked my dad to bring us to be staying with our uncles while my dad returns to gombe state.

On that fateful day, my uncle sent me to buy kerosine.

On my way, i was attacked by this ugly looking ekuke local dog. Y'all know how local dogs use to be very fierce in those days unlike these days.

So i picked race and ran back home. My uncle got mad at me and started saying i won't eat if i don't go out and buy the kerosine but for where? I on gree in.

He got angry and snatch the gallon and money from me and headed out angrily.

Not up to a minute i started gearing foot steps and someone calling my name to please open the door.

I looked through the window and saw my tall uncle running for his dear life and that same dog was chasing him!

In my childish thinking, i ran locked the door with keys so that the dog doesn't come in when i open the door.

Na so uncle bang the door like say he wan break am but i no send. Oboy, nobody told him to run go enter our neighbour's house... Smh

The first and the only time I had this experience was a a day my land lady's dog called thatcher engaged me in a physical physical combat. I lived and work outside the city of port Harcourt but always come around every two weeks for seen my family. On this ugly day, I setup for travelling back to site at about 5:30am. Immediately I was approaching the gate, thatcher rushed me, all shout telling her to "go back to your cage" fell on a def ear. By the time it jumped up to my chest, I dodged the similar way we used to do during catch me game in primary school. before she land on the ground I followed her with a blow from my heavy travelling back. for her missing a target and a blow from my back on her landing on the ground, she missed balance and I followed it with another wave of blow from my bag. Now we are set for the real fight. She ran far back as if she was running away and then turned back this time around I was fully prepared and started waving my bag left and right direction so fast that the single blow that touched the head sent message of not not go to her. We were in this battle until the owner called her to order.

If I were not to be carrying bag that day, the Dog was ready to finish me.

There was this dog called whiskey (white &a little black, whiskey was simply a Mad dog. he chases anything that comes his way... on this faithful Saturday: usually a market day everybody where either going to market or stay indoor.my brother & I can't stay in because of our new football, so we where playing & enjoying it, mistakenly I fired a shot towards the dog's direction, immediately without a seconds the dog charges after us. lo & behold my brother ran like a cheetah left his precious ball that he always pamper like a baby..I was confused he called out my name I joined in the race.. minutes later we passed our house hid behind a tall and bulky flower whiskey passed &smelt the place &ran off. lucky we. very funny
