It is high time we did something about china products, just yesterday i bought a solar powered power bank, for a huge amount of money because i thought it would save me the stress of carrying phone charger about, so i bought it.

when i got home i discovered something the power bank seems to be photosensitive, as its charging led flashes when under the sun,
but this is just a hoax, it doesnt charge, i left it in the sun for close to 2days now, and it doesnt have any charged voltages for my phone, it just flashes its led when in the sun so the buyer assumes its realy working but its not.
i dont know how they did it, but they did it, its a fake solar power bank,
here is what it looks like, does this happen anywhere else or only in Nigeria?
Your brothers have swindled you, if you know what I mean cheesy

PapaNnamdi:

no lemme use my Cv swear for u, i dont have tym for all that, its only in Nigeria ppl do such, why will i research for something before buying it, what is wrong is wrong, may be you are a relative to a seller or marketer of sub standard china products

I don't understand what you mean by "swearing with your CV". And I will not even satisfy your curiosity as to whether or not I am related to a seller of substandard products.

What is wrong is wrong, like you said. I stated clearly that sellers of these substandard products should be reprimanded as selling these products is not only wrong but harmful. You chose to ignore that. You were also wrong for not researching that product before buying it. It is because of the same ignorance you are displaying now that you have come to Nairaland to complain. Substandard power banks are known to catch fire or harm the user, did you know that? Did you also know that you put yourself in harms way by buying a fake product? I guess not, seeing as you wouldn't even accept the responsibility that you were also at fault. - (And no, 'ignorance' isn't an insult as I'm sure you would think, seeing as it's your hobby to take things out of context and construct your own truths. 'Ignorance' is a word describing a lack of knowledge of a particular thing. You had a complete lack of knowledge of the power bank you bought, and you bought it anyway. Smart move?)

If you had played your part as a smart customer, you wouldn't be here in the first place. I understand that you are pained and I sympathise with you, but you and I both know this wouldn't have happened if you weren't ignorant of what you bought. The decision to buy was yours, no one forced you. There will always be fake products out there, it is wrong, but it's the way Nigeria is set up. You can either chose to educate yourself to avoid buying them, or you remain in the dark, buy them anyway, and then come on here to tell us your unfortunate story.

Here's hoping you purchase a trusted power bank in the future. Have a nice day. And good luck with the job search.

Have an idea of what you purchase..make some research.
How can a solar power bank of that size be 25000mah? do you even what solar is?
I say you where scammed because you deserved to. Them no force you buy.

Exactly. A sales person is just looking to sell. They aren't concerned with the poor quality of their products, they just want to get rid of them, and they will tell you any lie to do so. If the poster had done his research, he wouldn't have been too quick to believe the lies.

Re: Dont Fall Victim, Pics by nani667: 1:13pm On Sep 16, 2015
OP... So basically the long and short of your write-up is that the solar panel doesn't work... You placed it under the sun and the power bank didn't charge.... That's basically your only issue with the power bank based on your story in the first post....

You know that you can also use electricity to charge it via something called a charger.... And that's much faster and effective..... What you should've worried about and checked on the powerbank was whether or not the powerbank charges your phone, and how many times it charges your phone after completely charging the powerbank (with a charger and not sunlight)... That is probably what will determine whether or not the powerbank is fake or not....

So immediately you purchased the powerbank because Dem tell you say na solar powered you just rush go put am under sun for days... Na wa.... It's a solar powerbank because of the presence of a solar panel, that doesn't mean you must recharge it with sunlight, that one is just secondary, the primary and most effective means of charging the powerbank remains via electricity, that's why It also has a port for charging via a charging port with electricity.... Charge it with electricity and use the powerbank to charge your phone !!! Then come back here and tell us if it's actually fake or not

For now the highest capacity of power bank is 16,000mAh. Anything above this is FAKE. Others should take note

No, I don't think this is 100% correct because I use a 20,000mah capacity and I enjoy it so much. I have used it for such a long time now and it is still very strong and never disaponted me.

Where is the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) when you need them most
Products and stuffs like this should be regulated by them.

Order your power bank through Amazon. I have had dual-charged power bank for 2 years now. I ordered 2 pieces for myself and another person, they are both in top shape after 2 years!
Be guided.
