anybody used any hospital in San antonio? My aunty just called DH about a hospital there with a total package of 4700 for elective CS! I'm still skeptical cos I don't want to enter one chance!

Ask her the name of the hospital and who to contact for financial enquiries. Make your own research before heading there. You might just be pleasantly surprised.

My guess is that the $4,700 is just the hospital fee for CS. I may be wrong though.

In the spirit of giving back, I just want to share my experience on my visa renewal.

I have been a frequent visitor to the US. last Visa expired this September and I am scheduled to travel in Oct. When I was in the process of renewing, I was undecided about giving a Dr as my contact person and the long duration I intended staying (12 weeks.) previous visits were in the region of 10 days and not for childbirth.

After reading somewhere that giving birth in the US was not a crime and that honesty was the best policy, I decided to be honest about my intentions (Plan B was to port to Canada, as I have a valid visa) and proceeded to submit my application last week via dropbox (Mum and I). Thankfully we were issued the visas without any call for interview.

About Finalizing my plans to travel to Houston in mid October. looking out for any awoof airfare promo smiley

Sorry to digress, but I feel I must add my own two cents to the recent conversation about Dr. F

Please let's be merciful to Dr.F. He has done many moms here more good than they come back to report. Many folks will tender his email correspondence to obtain their visas, and then port to another doctor. He is very much aware of this, but for the sake of serving his countrymen, he does not relent in giving people this opportunity.

I suspect he did not initiate a transfer to a higher-level hospital for the triplet mom due to cost considerations. Even with his discounted rates, many people still arrive at his office asking for discounts, complaining and lamenting about the cost of childbirth in the US. Some folks wont even tell him they are expecting multiples until they arrive at 36weeks of pregnancy for fear of additional charges. I do agree he should have probably consulted with the mom and explained the situation and cost considerations to her, then allow her to make an informed decision.

My advice to the triplets' mom, please don't team up with the supposed nurse to sue Dr.F. Consider the deepening racial divide even between Africans and African-Americans in the US. The court system may all turn around and put the blame on you for some cooked up reasons. Do have a discussion or written letter to Dr. F, and if you feel you must report to some higher authority, the Texas State Board of Physician's might be your best bet. They are in the best position to determine if he has done anything wrong "medically". But i still have this gut feeling that Dr.F was trying to do the most good and no harm in this whole process.

iolite88:
The Nigerian blood in Dr F wouldn't let him turn down patients even when he is over booked. I don't think there is anyone that has sent him a mail and he did not respond. Thus thread has made him very popular hence the high demand. People should just be aware of what they may be getting at the end and be prepared.

Bestnews, please d post your transcript.
Des your wife already have a visa? Has she used it? Is she presently in the US?
Admin processing is usually to verify a piece of info u gave. I'm guessing in this case, they wanna cross reference with your wife's details (and activities) if she has already travelled.
The good news is, you weren't denied, so if u were 100 percent honest you no get wahala.
Give them a couple of weeks and call them.
PS: plz. Post your transcript so the house can fully grasp werrin appen

There is no cause for alarm, just check the status again by Tuesday, it would have been changed/updated. That's what it usually give until your visa is printed.

I want to believe you are going to Dallas cause you have family there or free accommodation. If that is not the case you may want to look at El paso and save yourself at least 4k from this your 12k Dallas bill.
