SAMBARRY:Yup people can dress inappropriately but I'm yet to see any group of straight men that insist to the point of political rallies that it is OK for guys to like dress semi-nakéd gigolos. Slut walking is just another melodramatic arm of the feminist movement like Free The N!pple movement and The Free Bleeders; people operating under a misguided notion of equality. |

cococandy:Your question presupposes that rape incidents are low(er) in countries that are not as conservative as Nigeria or India. You will find that the USA with an estimated 300,000 rape crimes (according to the US Department of Justice https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/210346.pdf) ranks among the top 10 countries where people are likely to get raped, and they occupy that position with several other first world countries like France, UK and Canada. Go through any of the many stats available online and see for yourself. I am waiting to see anyone prove that provocative dressing has no link or effect whatsoever on whether a person gets raped or not. And till that time the present call for women to throw caution to the wind and dress as skimpily as they desire, because they want to feel empowered and liberated with their sexuality, will continue to draw ridicule from people like me. I always find it interesting that any effort to encourage decent dressing among today's modern woman is immediately seen as a curtailing of her rights. |

freecocoa: ![]() So you only pick points that are relevant to YOU, the rest of it is me repeating myself. Perfect example of you reading only what you want to read. Thank you. If you are only picking points that are relevant to YOU then there is no way WE can have a LOGICAL discussion. See why males and females always quarrel ![]() Any sane person going through the posts will see I've been answering all your questions and even painfully explaining my position all the time hence your impression that I'm repeating myself. I'm still going to answer this last one you asked. It may or may not be the response you expect based in the stereotype you so badly want this discussion to take. If rape can be or is caused by indecent dressing(@strikethrough, I gave you examples, even pictures of indecently dressed ladies. Go back and see what there is Rape is a crime punishable by law. The rapist has hurt another human being. He will be published accordingly. Now kindly answer my question that you so covertly avoided ![]() how come YOU won't dress indecent and snap it for us to see? What's your reason for not wearing a g-string and netted bra and joining the "slut" movement madam? I can't wait to hear it |

freecocoa:indecent dressing to a degree is covered/punished by law in indecent exposure |
| Re: Slut Walk For Women's Right by freecocoa(f): 9:19am On Sep 25, 2015 |
5minsmadness:Oga, you don't know the first thing about a logical discourse. It doesn't make sense that rape should be punishable by law if it is caused by indecent dressing, I mean the rapist couldn't have helped himself, if anything, the indecent dresser should be the one to be punished. Asking questions like you just did is why you shouldn't be taken seriously. Why should I snap in my underwear for you? What does that have to do with anything? |

cococandy:This topic is long over due, i support the walk even tho i am a guy, i have never for once understood how rape occurs, i loose a hard on whenever a girl gets uncomfortable and starts acting scared because of sex, omo 4get it but how this guys can get the mind and liver to force her even when she is screaming and crying beats me. nice point tho.. |

[quote author=raumdeuter post=38344034]Strangers rape as much as friends. No sensible girl according to you. But thousands of girls who go visit a stranger they met at a club home have been rapeed As we speak now. many girls would still leave their hostels go for parties, follow guys they just met few hrs ago home be rapped and some even killed for rituals With friends who you know and can be traced they would naturally have more restraints than with strangers who have no trace. If you live in your cocoon, you would believe girls dont follow strangers home. But everywhere in the world, It happens on a regular basis[/ Fact and seconded |

| Re: Slut Walk For Women's Right by lezz(m): 12:20pm On Sep 25, 2015 |
freecocoa:I thought the Lagos state dress code for public servant was a well-worn issue. Not to mention the numerous dress restrictions by The Nigerian Law School, Churches, banks which are fashioning dress codes to promote the dignity of the human person. A few years ago, Senators Eme Ufot Ekaete, Ikechukwu Obiora and others, sponsored a Bill at the Senate to Prohibit and Punish Public Nudity, Sexual Intimidation and Related Offences in Nigeria” otherwise called Indecent Dressing Bill or Indecent Exposure Bill. |

freecocoa:kindly refresh the page. |
| Re: Slut Walk For Women's Right by freecocoa(f): 12:41pm On Sep 25, 2015 |
lezz:The law was scrapped in Lagos. Check again. That was in 2008 and this bill was not signed into law, so that isn't even supposed to come up. ![]() You are now mixing apples and oranges, I'm not talking about different organisations and rules governing them, I am talking about the laws that governs us all. |
| Re: Slut Walk For Women's Right by lezz(m): 1:26pm On Sep 25, 2015 |
freecocoa:The law covering and punishing indecent exposure is a universal fact expecially in the west. THE LAW WAS SCRAPPED BECAUSE OUR LEGISLATORS DIDN'T DO THEIR JOBS. THE 2008 WAS AN ATTEMPT AT IGNORANCE OF UNINTENDED DUPLICITY : THE LAW ALREADY EXIST IN NIGERIA. The crime of indecent exposure comes from common law. It is part of the civil laws as received statutes. Both the criminal laws in the southern states and the penal code of the north deals with indecent exposure. The federal Criminal code also deals with this. See section 231 |

lezz:Lol, dude section 231 of the code talks about indecent acts, dressing was not specifically mentioned. Now statutes are subordinate to the constitutional laws of the land, therefore doesn't hold water here as it isn't in the constitution what indecent dressing is, besides, even with the said laws in the north and south, rape is still on the rise, now what? |

5minsmadness:I specifically asked in relation to Nigeria, how did you miss that? Plus, in those countries where 'indecent dressing' is a crime, was it any way implied that reason for this is because it causes rape? |
| Re: Slut Walk For Women's Right by SAMBARRY: 2:34pm On Sep 25, 2015 |
Timbuktou:I'm not saying criminals also don't get away with crime but the ratio is low and when they set out to investigate him he is brought to book. Of course there's no nation that's crime free its just the rate level and dimensions that differ mr tim next |

| Re: Slut Walk For Women's Right by Nobody: 2:45pm On Sep 25, 2015 |
ApexTitan:Portugal, Spain, Greece and Poland have comparatively very low rape rates and are all countries where MANY women VERY OFTEN wear very revealing outfits. |
