For the letter from specialist doctor/hospital in Nigeria; what will they write? Will it be a refer letter, or just stating condition of pregnancy?

I used form A last year for both hospital and doctor fees (el paso) - so you should be able to. These are the CBN requirements for processing medical payments:


(i) Completed Form A
(ii) A letter of reference from a specialist doctor, or a specialist hospital, in Nigeria.
(iii) Travel documents including valid passport, visa and air ticket.
(iv) Letter issued by the overseas specialist doctor stating the cost of treatment,
maintenance, etc.

It is generic for all banks. So just go to your account officer with both invoices and you should be fine.

PS: I think I know you... We met briefly before I came back home.

Firstly, the cash/self payment package in the hospital doesn't necessarily mean paying in [b]hard cash . I think its better termed upfront payment. U can also use ur card, swipe and use d debit option or count out the cash; Whichever way, as long as the hospital gets paid immediately.[/b]

I'm not sure oh, but I don't know of any individual that funds their amelica acct by swift transfer from naija.. I'm sure the bank charges r ridiculous (as usual). Most peeps jst bring in d cash and deposit it

To do two transactions in a day (while in the US) without loitering at the ATM or making a repeat journey,, one just waits till it's 11:55 naija time, do one, chill for 5 mins for it to turn past 12, do another, give it a 24hrs break then return...


Seems I'm the only one that enjoyed stanbic's 199.5 & 207.. ...

OK am back again after a few months and some of use know my story if you have been on this tread for a while, madam used MMC just like ewa2014. and baby was born sept.18. 2015. madam tried hospital to accept VACS.but it was a no no. at last baby was big so we had to result to CS. when baby came out wihout our consents baby was taken to NICU. explanation was that baby crp abi wetin dem call am was fluctuating so his body was fighting bacteria infection. rather than give him oral so mother and baby can go home after 4days. dey placed him on I.V and insisted that baby must complete his 8days dose b4 his discharged. so many ugly incident happen like hospital asking for $350 b4 baby can be given the circumsit. we refused and so will have to do it naija style on their return. now baby now home with mother and well.
now the challenge- MMC is asking me to pay $13600. for cost of baby being in NICU. since I don't want Medicaid. and saying I have to pay it complete payment within 6month if not it will attract charges. us this true about Medicaid? and what payment plan can you advise as I will be speaking with them by Monday 5th. Oct. when I will be depositing some money as down payment for the NICU. please help advise am really disturbed with this development. (we have payed all other outstanding hospital charges. $(8k + 1.2k +1.1k). mamas and papas I didn't see NICU coming. very sad. but life is most. shld I insists on 1 or 2 year plan? what's my right on this please help.

My spouse and I are currently in El Paso, having come in through Dallas hitch-free, probably because we travelled as a couple. The popular hospital here is Las Palmas Del Sol Medicals, sometimes referred to as University Hospital. The currently used residence here is Intown Suites which we found unsuitable based on services, hygiene and security. We thus decided to find an apartment after a week stay. We found several apartments with better services and better homely living even at a lesser or same cost. The 2 bedroom apartment we rented for 3 months stay is better convenient for birthing/holiday stay, has pools, sporting facilities, gym and parks within a controlled entrance area for security. The snag is renting or buying furniture and paying utility which in the long term is advantageous as you would have set up accounts in the process which makes your subsequent visits more convenient and trustworthy.

Any expectant mother arriving singly or with family desiring further advice should feel free to ask cos this forum greatly helped my wife in the quest for US delivery.

@berryl we only sent a letter from hubby and myself and data page of our passport plus baby passport and money. We didn't go to the embassy direct, but used an agent that was given to us by a natural and mom I met here. We got the etc by post.
