So, your host has not been mean, they have just forgotten that you be 9ja woman who always expect to be served becos you are a visitor.

Im sorry to keep dragging this issue but the above statement couldnt be more wrong. I think its best we actually know what someone is saying than make assumptions. I am never the type to wait to be served! Lai lai! On ocassions ive asked my host what she will like to eat when she gets back from work and ive gotten a im not crazy bout food response. The last pot of stew was made by me. So you get my point.

Just like @Ellaleesa said i observe things real quick. If someone is monitoring what im serving or complaining that im eating indomie in the morning or scolding me for putting salad cream on my salad how am i supposed to be free to eat even the food i cook?

Please dont get it mixed up. Im not the regular nigerian woman that wants to be served . my job entails serving others.

You think its easy for me to have this discussion bout my family on a forum like this? Its cos it has reached that stage. And like i said a lot is still being held back

Please enough said on this matter
Thanks all

@ MumTee I called Ben Taub too but they didn't help much, was just given a range of price 3967-4975 for just hospital fee was asked to look up Drs affiliated to the hospital and get the Drs fee, I saw 1 Dr Adebayo Adesomo tried getting through but not mKn much headway I'll keep trying. When do you plan going to Ben Taub to find out details? I'm presently in New York should be in Houston by end of October. Thanks would be awaiting a reply from u

MumTee:

@bizzle6, I am also searching for a VBAC hospital but my discussion with the Oak bend Doc shows most hospital around Houston don't do it. I found out Ben Taub General hospital Houston TX 77030 does it but when I called them, they couldn't ascertain anything and insisted that its when I come in person that we can discuss on it, other birthing options and cost/fees. So in d meantime, I'm settling for Oak bend and staying in Richmond (a private paid arrangement) unless a good VBAC deal comes up. If u can call Ben Taub Hospital, u might be lucky to get a better response on cost breakdown and other info. If you do, pls let me know.

@Embermum, I could find out for you if they have another spare room, when are u leaving? have u bought your ticket, which airline and POE are you using?

@DFJ12 It worked well in the US but since i got to Nigeria i couldnt use it. I plug it to electricity but it didnt come on. Someone told me to get a step up or step down i dont know which.

You could try it with the step down or up thing before use.

@Adebuble, if you don't mind Augusta (2.5 hrs from Atlanta), I can give details of doctor and hospital that would cost you just below $10k. Alternatively you can consider el paso cos their CS is about 7k and accommodation max 2k ( i think). Other el paso mums can help me on this. You can read my posts in 2014 for more details.

It's easy to insist that you don't respond to naysayers but it hurts so so so bad when one goes with so much expectations of being treated decently & also reciprocating with respect & goodwill but find the case to be the reverse..

People always are quick to malign the hosted party without getting the true facts of the course of events which is so so unfair....

Let's be slow to judge without facts.

Can anyone imagine a grown adult being called from the room to come pick up a grain of rice that fell from one's plate or told having a CS does not preclude sweeping just a week later.?? sad

I never planned to do this ever,but just have to;

When my spouse's relatives started drama, nefertitiram & her angelic aunty were my boy & I's refuge... I started doing 3 days with them, 1 day with our relatives who suddenly became friendly when it was apparent I now had alternative & didn't have to endure..

What's so ironic is that they've sent us an errand, like they do while conveniently forgetting their actions .... angry

Can I get an e-round of applause for nerf & aunty, dem too much abeg.... smiley

I don't quote long posts but in this case I had to make an exception, sorry everyone.

Quick note. ..
On the VBAC case. ..
there's really no special (or different hospital/ obgyn) price as to normal/cs and vbac delivery.
Is just a matter of whether or not the hospital is equipped to handle likely emergencies that may arise during a vbac and further if the doctor is experienced at handling vbac cases.
My wife just had a second vbac with a 4kg+ youngie n the doctor and hospital charges were same as a normal delivery.

My advice is for your location just Google obgyn that encourages and performs vbac however from research only a handful does it and are successful at it.

Please a word of advice really research the doctor by reading vbac mums review of him/her because some of them will tell you they ll give u a vbac only for them to ve premeditated n offer u an emergency c-section few days to ur EDD wen dey know u got no where else to run to. ..

I noticed that during my research whilst looking for a vbac friendly obgyn. ..

2 cents for who cares to pick. . cool..
out for a bit again I'm seriously in need of a shutter-eye

If not anything my sanity n dignity are paramount to me.

The errors are numerous but a few are;

1. Having unshakeable faith that your siblings will treat your spouse well in your absence.... grin grin

2.Believing that the 2-3wks vacation treatment will be the same for a 2-3mths birthing trip .

3. Feeling like one correct bawse cheesy, cos one used 2 baba GMG to carry stuff for them , spending a couple of big name thousands to buy them stuff they actually REQUESTED for ,& agreeing to take everything ANYONE is sending ...

4.Not being a fan of sugar filled breakfast cereals, jam on bread, waffles & eggs, etc....

5.Not knowing the lease policy of the city one is going to,cos in chicago (anyone can counter this), you can't lease an apartment without referees & evidence of income.....

As for extended stay kind of accomodation, anyone can google & let us know where dem dey for that city....

Thanking God again for nefertitiram & aunty..

Pls can you tell us what happened at your first interview? Are you sure it's not linked to dis denial? I never knew vo do demand for doctors report in Nigeria. This visa application do take the grace of God o. Perhaps you can hear the gurus opinion and re apply seriously praying for favour.

The first interview was before we can across this wonderful thread. So we stated that we were going on vacation and didn't vonlunteer the information on the pregnancy status of my DW. I think we even denied it when asked. The second interview was musch different. We prepared my DW to mention that she was pregnant and armed her with burden of proof.

Could the second refusal be linked to our first interview?

Modath thank you ooo. My situation is better imagined than experienced. I just woke up now to shouting, insults , lies and accusations. I had not even said my prayers. This is from my cousin and not even her mum. Apparently things i thought were squashed havent been. Yday my hubby was "priviledged" to hear her scolding me for ordering things here, he couldnt believe his hears. Its cos of my ordered items that im still here, but im begining to think i will forfeit them ( diapers and all). My new place wont be available till next week. Kai! What i didnt go through in naija. This is not to mention that ive been sleeping on the couch o. Anyway, they say hunger that has hope doesnt kill abi. Issorait, next week is here already.

Thanks to the likes of @Nerfertitiram aunty and a couple my friend told me of that housed her and vacated their one bedroom for her while they slept in the sitting room. People she was just meeting. We thank God for such people
