Oh! You for ask me clearly na, see me dey share testimony grin grin grin

I checked the requirements and decide to just do the passport one time since it's cost about the same amount. $170 & I was also trying to avoid that lengthy wahala passport application process..but I've done it now I.e passport application.

But here are the:
REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING EMERGENCY TRAVEL CERTIFICATE

1. Formal request letter for the Emergency Travel Certificate by the applicant.( parents). Include your current address and telephone number, please.

2. copy of Applicant's bio-data page of Nigerian Passport. ( parents bio-data page)

3. 2 passport-size photographs. ( child's passport photo)

4. Copy of itinerary or airline ticket.

5. $170.00 in money order payable to the Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, DC.

NOTE: The Travel Document is valid for 7 days only and cannot be used to return to the United States (one way journey).

You mail it to them. Ask @mulberry & Nefertitiram for more details.

Not true o! Al that one is online formalty.
I got into 9ja yday using the etc.The immigration officer only asked for address and phone number. It was a breeze even though i took the non 9ja passport holders queue.

i used an agent to get d etc, emailed him the requirements he applied on monday got it same day and I got it in d mail d very next morning since it was overnight delivery option.

Requirements were:
Passport biodata page of both parents
childs passport picture
travel itinerary
consent letter
birth certificate

I think thats all.

what can I do to fast track the completion to enable me visit my wife, she just delivered and needs me in the US.
There is absolutely nothing you or anyone can do to fast track an AP. In some immigrant cases for example "AP" can last as long as a few weeks to several months. You can only hope they conclude whatever background checks they are carrying out and get back to you in a timely manner.

I believe its 250$ but I can swear .. I will however advise that you go for it cos the blue pali will not leave your custody as it was nerve wracking waiting for my son's naija visa to arrive on the morning of our return flight & seeing that travesty of a blue biro visa....

Yes o! Am back.Thank God the LO is my carbon copy, no one believes I was preg!

I used Nogen contact for the etc. Kisses to her once again for fishing out amd sharing the contact.
It cost $270 plus $20 for overnight delivery. It is just a letter on the embassy letterhead authorizing immigration to admit your baby, then they put her passport pic there and stamp it. It is valid for 7 days from the date on your return ticket not from the date you applied or received it.

Well the visa came in handy for me cuz she still used it to Dubai and South Africa.we only recently got her Naija passport sorted out

Anyways for those that do etc keep it well sha cuz to get a Naija passport u need to show how ur child came into the country

Olaideodes, it's well with you. So sorry about the bill and it's a lesson to everyone of us too. I have a free accommodation, free meal and free transportation and more helping hands at Maryland but I turned them down for El Paso because there's no medical all inclusive maternity package over there . This means the bill can skyrocket when there's any medical emergency. My inlaws were not happy with our decision but in the end they saw reasons with me.

When issues come up, you will be on your own. Always stick to decisions that will pay you in the end. May God provide for you speedily. Amen

One more thing! Never be ashamed to ask for a discount even when it is a fixed fee. You may be lucky to get some discounts because you are paying cash.

Dear Nogen
Please I sent you a pm.
Please respond.
Many thanks.

Hello nairalanders,

And so I have been silently learning from y'all and I really want to commend everyone who has at some point given pointers, shared personal experiences for the success of fellow expecting mums and Dads.

My situation goes thus, wife had previously travelled to the US (visa obtained while she was in the UK), but was denied twice on renewal because she had an issue at ATL POE ( was stopped and visa almost got cancelled) but was later allowed to continue her trip but I am sure it was recorded because it was mentioned in her interviews. she is 27 weeks pregnant and plan to use Oakbend Medical Centre, I have contacted Dr Fagbohun and he has accepted to cater for her delivery. My issue is this;

a. At the third attempt she was issued the visa for vacation as stated in her application but was not questioned if she was pregnant or expecting and she didn't disclose since she wasn't asked (probably due to fear of being denied again) as she wasn't really showing.

b. Visa was issued in February and she is due in May; I am of the opinion she should send a letter of change on intent to the US Consulate notifying them she intends to have a baby in the US. That she wasn't decided on having the baby in the US initially when applying for the US visa but has a change of mind and wants to. In order to avoid POE issues, proof of funds, and Dr's appointment is not an issue at this point but
I hope the reason stated is (b) above is viable to avoid any allegations of visa fraud or not disclosing true intent of applying for the visa.

Constructive opinions please.

Thanks everyone and any mum due in May/June with a 2 bedroom apartment to share in Richmond or Sugarland should also contact me.

Pls can i have d email address of d Consulate to send in a letter of changed of intent

Good evening house,
My wife is already having a US visa but we don't have any idea of document require at the embassy cos she's going to Maryland and
My own thinking is for her to travel and walk in to any hospital visit the hospital instead of feeling any form before leaving naija.

Also is it a most to travel to the state btw 3 to 2 month before due date over there?

Please I need the house help on what to do
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by FinanceFitness: 12:00am On Oct 05, 2015
I want to understand your question - you wish that your wife travels so close to delivery and also plan to not make any preparation? Then she'll walk into any hospital?

The law and POE aside, isn't that risky?

To answer your question - any visitor into the U.S. needs to be prepared to show CBP officers that they aren't potential immigrants. If you plan to seek medical attention, you need to have proper itinerary and funds to support that... That's why we recommend that you do all your research here before leaving. Last minute search is also recipe for bills you can't afford and thus breaking the law - Medicaid!

If you've researched properly and have all your documents - the second question will automatically be answered. Most airlines won't carry you after 36 weeks, most doctors won't accept you as their patient after 36 weeks, your Nigeria doctor would probably not allow you fly after 36weeks.

All the best with your search.
