opebiyi14: The scan result you posted is not PP2000 scan result, so not helpful in your lion condition. However, diagnosing hard start in Lion can be easy, depending on state of electrics. I would need you or your mechanic to rule out or test the RPM sensor and/or engine ECU with method I am about to explain below: Pull out the fuel rail, leaving the fuel supply line and fuel injectors attached to the rail. Also, pull out the ignition coil, get another 4 spark plugs and plug in on the coils, leaving the spark plugs inside the engine there. Ground the spark plugs attached on the coil. Place the plugs on any metal part of the engine, make sure the 4 plugs surfaces touch the metal side of engine or ground them anyhow you want. Then let somehow crank the engine and watch. While engine cranks, the 4 fuel injectors will spray fuel continuously in seconds (off & on). You can use that opportunity to check the spray Pattern to know how each injectors spray or if one brings out more fuel than other or doesn't at all. Then look at the spark plugs too as engine cranks, you should see sparks produce by those plugs (off and on as engine cranks). If the fuel injectors didn't spray fuel with the crank and spark plugs didn't produce sparks while grounded, then, you will have to swap in another RPM sensor/Engine speed sensor (one you are sure works) and do the test again. If that continues, then you will have to check supply to the injection or engine ECU, or the ECU itself. Please note that each of these two tests about has to be done separately. That is, remove spark plugs first, do the test, put them back in, before you remove fuel rail to do fuel injectors spray test. The two tests must not be done at the same time. It's safer to do the coil and spark plugs test before fuel injectors so that sparks from plugs don't ignite fuel on the engine sprayed by injectors. Or you simply find and plug in PP2000. What you experienced when the lion stopped accelerating beyond 1000 or 2000 rpm was limp home mode. It was a safety engine ECU program in Lions to prevent damage to either the engine or the engine management. It was simply telling you to plug in a proper scan tool to see what was wrong. How sure is your last current about the camshaft timing? Ikenna, the Lion King. 2 Likes |

Thanks so much ikenna. I understand the test you suggested, the mechanic as done the test; he checked the injector and they are spraying as should, he changed the plugs and it spack when the car is kicked. But still the car is not starting. I read one of your post where you said something like brainbox screw loose. I don't know what to do again. |

opebiyi14: Camshafts. You need a good Peugeot mechanic to look at the camshaft positions. How good are the valves? What led to the timing belt failure in the first place? Ikenna, the Lion King. |

ESP Defective keep appearing on the screen display. What does it imply? |
Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by Ikenna351(m): 8:15am On Sep 09, 2015 |
Schwarzenegger: Scan the ABS ECU. The ESP (Electronic Stability Program) in Peugeot cars works with ABS. So when ABS is faulty, ESP deactivates itself. It could even be that you need to do steering angle initialization. Carryout PP2000 session first. Ikenna, the Lion King. |

king406: The 308 GTi that I know that much is the new Peugeot 308 GTi produced by Peugeot Sport and unveiled few weeks ago. The new Peugeot 308 GTi has only petrol engines. Both are 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engines and THP Peugeot engines. The first ones has 250 horsepower, that is THP250. While the 2nd one has maximum of 270 horsepower, THP250 engine. The 308 with 250 horsepower average about 47 mpg. They both have Torsen ™ Limited Slip Differential (LSD). Their front brake calipers on each wheel have 4 pinions, for aggressive braking/shorter stopping distance, to handle the aggressive power both engines produces. And both have 19 inches Alloy wheels. Oh! They both come in 6-speed manual transmissions only. The new Peugeot 308 GTi was designed for thrills. You can order yours, if you find it interesting, because its an impressive animal. You can visit The Lion Community page and/or The Lion Community group on Facebook to learn more about the new Peugeot 308 GTi. https://www.facebook.com/thelioncommunity https://www./1640532949500577/ Ikenna, the Lion King |

My 5-day trip from Abuja to Kaduna, 30/09/2015 - 04/10/2015, in my Peugeot 406 V6 SV D9 with 5-speed manual and 4 brand new Michelin tyres. What a sweet experience. On each of the journeys, I would arrived my destinations fresh as I was before the departure. The Lion's performance was awesome. The road handling of the Lion on those 4 brand new Michelin tyres (Primacy 3) was so thrilling. I woke up this morning and found myself still smiling for how happy I am due to the treat the lion gave to me and allowed me to enjoy in those 5 days. I am so happy and grateful to God and Universe for giving me these magnificent Peugeot cars and the more that continue to come in. I love my Lions! Ikenna, the Lion King. 2 Likes

please oga ikenna what's your advice on buying 2009-2010 Peugeot 407, I've seen many ppl complain of Peugeot but I'm still a fan of a lion, but instead buying and regret it, I'm thinking of buying Toyota spider 2010 model.pls advice me on how reliable a 407 Peugeot would be. |
Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by Ikenna351(m): 8:16am On Oct 07, 2015 |
olisafincy: I always tell people, whatever you are so happy to have or do and at the same time afraid to go for or do, that's where your abundant happiness lies, go for it. Because its ok to be afraid. Jesus Christ was afraid to go through the pains of the crucifixion which was why he asked for it to be passed over (the soul is ready, but the body is weak), but he conquered the fear by going ahead with it. Look at what it got Him. Just as its written, Devil will use fear to discourage you from saying "Yes" to good life, by using people around you, friends, even loved ones to instill fear in you or discourage you from your heart desire. The choice is left for you to live your life for another mans choices or make your choice in life. We are all here on this planet for different purposes and to lead those lives. If you don't trust the you inside you, you live a miserable live. Peugeot 407 is a nice reliable and durable Lion. The 2010 model of Peugeot 407 has DVD player that can be watched on the big Navigation screen on the dashboard, among other things. If you are buying a 407, make sure its a factory Left Hand Drive one, and not a RHD converted one. People that complain about Lions abuse their electrical systems and instead of taking the blame and responsibility, they shift it to the lion. That's human nature, always shifting blames for. Yet their fellow human beings are enjoying the same thing they are complaining about. Don't tamper with the factory cooling system and general electrics of the lion if you decide to get one. Avoid driving position converted ones because of electrical issues they suffer from overtime. When you find one, I can help you confirm if its factory LHD or converted RHD. All I need is the VIN. You will find more explanations on Peugeot 407 in my previous posts. The decision to be happy lies in your hands. If you give the world the permission or power to decide your happiness for you, then you know the rest. Ikenna, the Lion King 1 Like |

Hello everyone? I had a 406 with EW10 engine but it crashed terribly. I want to get another one. So far, I've seen a very neat prestige 406 but it uses an XU10 engine. How reliable is this engine variant? |
Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by Ikenna351(m): 11:47am On Oct 11, 2015 |
enyinnagodslove: You can get the Access or transponder Peugeot car code from any of the Peugeot dealerships around you. If you are in Abuja, you can get yours at ASD Motors, Borno street, Area 10, Garki, Abuja. Ikenna, the Lion King |
Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by Ikenna351(m): 11:52am On Oct 11, 2015 |
Ziggyzito: XU10 Peugeot engines are reliable and durable as the EW10J4 that succeeded it. However, XU10 is 134 horsepower, while EW10J4 engine is 138 horsepower. Parts or components that made up both engines are completely different. Ikenna, the Lion King |

IKenna wonder if anyone can help me with my Peugeot 206 to keep it simple I have an old peugeot 206 1.4, fitted with a 1.6 engine from 206cc, fitted with new axle too now i am having abs problem Rear right and left coherence, live data shows 0 kph. What i have done: - Check wire Harness-OK( Good from abs sensor to abs pump) - Change New ABS Sensors -DONE - reluctor Ring- Checked( looks New) |
Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by Ikenna351(m): 5:48pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
Jeromecqy: When you removed TU3 engine and mounted TU5, were both injection system using Motorized Throttle Body? If not, it means you swapped the engine wiring harness? Was the 1.6 litre engine TU5JP or TU5JP4? If you swapped the wiring harness, were both (donor and current Lions) Non-multiplexing or full multiplexing? When did you observe the ABS ECU stopped receiving feedback from the rear wheels? Immediately after you swapped the engine or replace the rear axle? Have you confirmed if the Peugeot part numbers of 5-door 206 Rear Right & Left ABS wheel sensors are the same with 3-door 206 cc? Did you replace with exact rear axle? If you swapped in a TU5 engine wiring harness, then you swapped in the BSI kit, right? VAN-bus BSI unit and CAN-bus BSI unit are not the same, same as the car electrical connections, etc. If those rings on the wheels are intact and the new good ABS sensors are mounted close enough to sense the rings and the connection between the Wheel sensors to the ABS pump/module are in tact, with the right wiring & control modules, then the ABS ECU should receive live signals from the rear wheel sensors as the wheel rotates. But the first question to answer is, when did you observe the ABS issue? That will answer the rest of the questions I asked above and get the issue resolved. Ikenna, the Lion King 1 Like |

Every now and then, people ask me "How are you doing it? How come your Lions serve you so well? What's the secret? What could be wrong with this picture you are not telling us? How can I enjoy my Lions like you do? Etc. I always answer with three words, "Love your Lion!". Well, some do find it uncomfortable when i say those words, by going Religious immediately that " Thou Shall Not Love Material Things", and all that. Well, maybe that has been included in the commandment or maybe not. Some would say they "Like" or love their Lions, but still get different results from their Peugeot car ownerships from results I get from mine. They maybe right. Lets look at it. Love, Hate & Indifference (indifferent) are feelings people give out towards someone or something. When you say out loud you love something, it doesn't actually mean you love that person or thing, depending on how you say it. Its your attitude towards that person or thing that determines truly whether you love or not. Because your feelings determines your actions most times, not your thoughts. You might think you love something, but your feelings about that thing shows indifference or hate. Remember, its your feelings that matters most since it controls your actions, most of the times. Your feelings are your believes, call it faith. So when you really love your Peugeot Car, your attitude towards the Lion is what keeps the lion in good shape that will enable the Lion to serve you and keep you happy, not that you think you love him. When you love something, what do you do? You try to protect, sometimes over protect, right? Same thing that happens when you love your Lion. You love your Lion when you don't open your bonnet and pressure wash your engine with water when its stamped on your engine bay or written in the Lions owners manual "Thou Shall not Wash Peugeot engine bays with pressured water". You love your Lion when you don't try to cut corners to make your Lion work. To put it in another way, you don't stay in a relationship to make it work. Rather, you flow in it, you live it. The moment you try to make "Love" work, it becomes work, a burden, a bondage. Same way, you don't make your lion work, you love the Lion and flow in it. When Peugeot recommends part A for your Lion and you go ahead using -A part to run the Lion because you want the Lion to work. That is "Indifference", not Love. When its recommended you change your Peugeot Timing belt at certain mileage or years of running, but you chose to keep the Lion running till the belt breaks. That's not Love either, but being indifferent or acting indifferent towards the Lion, no matter how much you say out loud, "I love my Lion". You might think you love your Lion, when actually you hate the Lion. What do you think you are doing when everytime you are complaining of how every negative thing you heard or read about Lions before you switched to Peugeot brand is true? Somewhere inside your heart, you still have that fear that you made the wrong choice to switch to or acquire your Lion. So what you constantly do is expect something bad to happen to the lion so that you satisfy that desire that "They told me so, they warned me what I was getting myself into, So they were right, My other brand of cars before were serving me well, I never experienced this disappointment in my previous other brand of cars, What next will fail again" etc. So what you do in this instance when you hate your lion is "You doom Your Lion!". When you expect negatives in a relationship, it becomes a misery or you doom the relationship. Likewise, you do the same thing to your Lion. Don't expect anything else because you get back what you give. Its a powerful natural law you cannot do anything about it. So its either you use the law to your advantage or.... you know the rest. How Do I Love My Lion? The right question, for those interested anyway. If you find yourself among those that actually hate their Loins without knowing it, first thing I would suggest is to let go of those negative thoughts you have about your Lion. Cleanse your mind. Forget all the fears you have built inside your subconscious mind that repels positivity from your Lion, which you don't see even when its staring at you every moment you are inside the Lion. Start creating or writing a history from this moment. Start asking yourself, what is that good thing this Lion has been given you that you don't pay attention to? The same goes with those that are indifferent to their Lions. Think about it for a moment: You travel or go out with your Lion everyday and comes home safe and sound and you never wondered why that is so? You think you are more religious than others that didn't make it home? Every time you are on highway, your Lion handles so well that you never felt unsafe till you get home, but you jumped out of the car and walked away as if, "What's the big deal?". Really? The few times you drove out with your Lion and get to your final destinations without the Lion coughing, did you just walked away and behaved it was nothing or felt in your heart ,at least, a little appreciation? Or you simply take your Lion as some pieces of metals? These are the thoughts you need to get rid of. Take out time to treat your Lion. Yes, treat the Lion. Wash your Lion sometimes by yourself . Clean the interior or polish the leathers yourself. All these things will make you appreciate your Lion. The same way you feel after you treat your woman or man in your life. Loving your Lion will make you start paying attention to the Lion, the do's and donts of the Lion. When you start paying attention or start loving your lion, you will realise that washing your Lion under sunlight, washing the lions body with domestic detergents or wiping the lions body with wet rag are not good for the Lions body paint. The same way you will start paying attention to engine oil that goes in, same as the transmission oils. Same way you would know when brake pads are due for replacement without waiting for the brake discs to damage before changing the worn out pads. Same way you would know that using a Lion for more than two years without changing or replacing the brake fluid is not good for the Lions braking system. Mr. A and Mr. B bought brand new Lions same day. Two years later, Mr. A Lion looked like he just drove him out of show room, while Mr. B Lion looked like a 20 year old rickety that deserved to be in junkyard. Difference between the two men are, one loved his Lion, while the other hated or was indifferent to his Lion. So which group do you want to belong to from this moment? The choice and decision is yours to make, because the responsibility to enjoy Peugeot car ownership rest on you. Happy Sunday everyone. Ikenna, The Lion King 1 Like |

Ikenna351: If you dont mind i can tell you the details of what i have done since day one. My old TU3 's gearbox went dead so i decided to just buy an halfcut TU5 to replace the whole thing since its just the same price I gave my car to a mechanic to swap out everything To answer your question - i have swapped the BSI ,engine ECU, wiring ABS pump , And most wiring except internel wiring becuz some electrical system are not same such as the rear wiper washer and such -the problem went out the first day i got the car because it was a halfcut and was left off for few year unused so we would expect it to have some issues at first but all lights went off except the abs light. -both are full multiplexing as i would expect becuz donor car was an 2003 and original was a year 2006 -i couldnt give an exact answer whether the axle was the same one because it was give by the dealer but i assume it was the right one Things i have done: -buy new sensor and replace, same with what was on the axle before that -problem was not solved so i check the reluctor ring and cleaned it (no dents ,no chips, no crack, just bright shining metal.) -then i check the wiring to know that if there was any broken wire in the middle but was fine checked connectivity from the abs pump connector and also checked if the was AC(alternating current)~~ power to the abs pump connector, wiring seems fine. Thats all i can give Thans for you concern and i look forward to receive you reply. ***EDIT: you mention that VAN-BUS /CAN-BUS problem so i went on and look out for the car's BSM and found that the BSM unit was my original unit not the donor's any chance this might has caused the problem?*** |
Re: Peugeot: Cars With Attitude! by Ikenna351(m): 3:19pm On Oct 12, 2015 |
Jeromecqy: Since both are multiplexing / CAN-bus, the connections to the BSM would be the same. However, BSI unit in Multiplexing Lions uses ABS wheel sensors signals to interpret and controls the speedometer (most of them). If that is the case, you should get intermittent fail on Vehicle speed sensor on BSI unit fail reading. Try this. Can you swap the connectors of the wheels sensors (front to rear and rear to front)? Even if you connect only one rear wheel sensor to front wheel connector from ABS pump side and disconnect the rest. Then do another parameter measurement while in motion and see if the km changes on the front wheel while connected to the rear wheel? Ikenna, the Lion King |

Ikenna351: Front and rear abs sensor are not the same so swapping wouldn't be an option , sorry by the way, When interpreting with PP2000 i only get one permanent fault that is coherence rear abs sensor any other ways i can work this out? i have tried many was to make it work but i am already about to give up and just gonna live without ABS, i can live without ABS but i cant live with the dash light shining STOP * STOP * STOP * all the time when i'm driving. ***INFO: when my speedo speed is 50 KPH, my abs sensor speed would only be 25 KPH it does increase according to speed but not actual speed, althought i suppose that if four sensors are sending data the abs system would still work because they are the same speed ***
