sweetgala:

You left out the rest about the falsehood of murder and forced religious conversion in the name of Allah. As he put it is God wanted everyone to be of same religion that being Islam he would do so himself without force.

I think the man is just being very frank , religious scholars who preach against BH have been special targets for them that is why certain mosques have been attacked and scores of Muslims killed because more than army guns and planes the greatest tool against BH are those clerics who denounce their acts and expose their deceitful nature.

BH have killed more moderate Muslims than Christians and that is an undeniable fact.

Sweetgala, I do understand your angle but there is one thing our Leaders should understand about public speech by public officials. It is better you don't answer such question or better still apply the highest level of wisdom in answering it.

What about answer like this: This is a sensitive issue which we may not discuss now. Okay what about No comment... finish. Must he tell us that he wants to protect his family Those other family killed day in day out nko? These same Moderate Muslims despite how painful the situation is incubated this situation until it went sour like this. What were they encourage those little boys roaming round the streets up north some years back? Poverty might have contributed to where we are now in North East but these same BH boys were celebrated as Almagiris when they were killing non-Muslims at every slightest provocation. Now they have graduated into Monsters, the benefactors-turned-Victims are afraid...

Imagine what a leader said. What a coward. The pecks from leadership are not only limited to money and power, some time you have to risk your life for the subjects. He must be a 'WASTERNER'

It is a ministerial screening for God's sake and you want him to say no comment. Later you still come here and say he is tactically supporting the terrorists. Even though I may not support all his points, the fact is that the man has been frank and candid. And where did you see muslims celebrating BH killing non-muslims?
Re: Adebayo Shittu: "No Comment On Boko Haram, For My Family's Safety” by MISSCONGENIALITY(f): 11:30am On Oct 21, 2015
From this statement, one can conclude that the Nigerian Army is made up of men without families and that's why they are sent to die for Nigerian while some people keep their mouths shut for fear of their live's and that of their family members.
Nigeria is in deep shit.

Or will buhari open a special ministry for this guy Ministry of Islamic Affiars/State lipsrsealed

In my Opinion the guy does not sound sharp at all... undecided

The guy just dey brag about he did this and did that. Even though that was the point of the CV. Even people with stellar qualifications like Ogbonnaya Onu kept it simple.

In politics of cowardice for 36 years. Shame.

One way to put an end to Extremism is for Islamic scholars and leaders across the world to speak against Extremism and also find a means to make their view pervasive even to the smallest village but they chose to keep quiet. Their quietness shows they support the Jihad movement of the fatuous Extremists

Quote me anywhere, Adebayo Shittu is not just a religious extremist, he is by his comment a supporter of Boko Haram. Don't you think he may be representing the interest of Boko Haram in the cabinet? How can a person who is afraid of openly criticising the sect now, support the fight against them when he is finally a minister? PMB please do the needful before we hear another "Boko Haram has infiltrated my govt" again o. God forbid that a man like this become Interior Minister, because immigration, civil defence and prisons will be taken over by........

No I completely disagree! What has all the past condemnations from all clergies (xtian/muslim leaders) done to reduce terrorism? The answer is in government being alive to its responsibilities. Whoever is in power should take the bull by the horn and arrest the situation as soon as it raises its head. We all saw what Yar'dua did before he died. We all saw what OBJ did to OPC and other militant groups. Don't fvking wait for imams and pastors to condemn. Does the terrorist give a sh!t about what the clergies say? NO!!

Is human sacrifice which is one of the acts of herbalists not murder. It is one and same thing SIN. It is a relevant analogy in the Nigerian society. It addresses the hypocrisy of the BH movement

You can't kill people because they don't want to follow your tenets of Islam and if God wanted all these people to follow a certain religion he does not do it using force , and certainly not using murder as tool

You have no basis for argument, been a native doctor does not necessary mean killing people. It is the traditional system of worship.
I know you are a teenager, which is why you don't know the fine line between religion politics, and the right of human life.

Anyway like I said teenager,I don't fault you,it is too much Nigerian films.

Thanks for calling it ministerial screening which makes it a national engagement. Are you aware there is something they call patriotism which all Potential Ministers must have? Let's define Patriotism as love of one's country or devotion to the welfare of one's Compatriots or the passion which inspires one to serve one's country. Granted you accept one of the definitions, then for the sake of those assumed Chibok families missing their children, tell me or other NLs if his own family worth being celebrated during national screening above any other family in Nigeria?

Being frank and candid or not does not mean you sell yourself off. His sworn duty would be for the overall interest of Nigeria not his family. It is only when we apply the principle of UBUNTU that this country would be a better place for all the federating Units.
Just in case you forgotten about the ideology of UBUNTU, I oblige to explain it simply as a South African principle focusing on People's allegiances and relations with each other.

I did my NYSC in Bauchi some many years back and I can clearly remember how many times I survived one riot or the other in the north during those days. I can equally remember the "Body Language" (apologies to APC for copyright infringement) of the people each time the crisis is over. The few Islamic elites, I know then, are readily available to term it handiwork of miscreants. Bros, I love north and Muslims so much that I can't afford to disparage the people but let truth be told in spirit of true nationalism.

Still it doesn't mean he should come to senate and say "No Comment" as you suggested.
Agreed, the nation comes first before anything else. But one may also argue how is he going to perform his duties optimally if the live of his family is endangered? Not that I support what he said. To me he is just undiplomatic. There are "politically correct" answer he could have given that would not have raised this much dust. In essence, what I am saying is, I don't support his statement because it give BH some psychological boost, but truth be told, patriotism will be out of the window because 99.9% of us will not be able to function in any ministerial capacity if anything happens to anyone's family (including Buhari and yourself).
