My advice, to you, is that you should take safety first by getting another accommodation and then secretly inform your former landlords wife to be vigilant over the two to see things for herself. If you do not tell her, you are not helping either of the three because the husband and your friend might remain unrepented and your landlords wife might have being repaid with backstabbing.
