As of January this year Fabio Capello the Russian national team coach had not received a payment since June of 2014. Last year Parma were pretty much relegated for not being able to pay its players, their fans even had to buy their equipment at auction and donate it back but yet at the end of the season with nothing to gain they beat Juventus a candidate for story of the year. Lastly Galatasary in 2014 owed a few of their players salary including Wesley Sneider who was owed 1 million euros by the club. All these people i have mentioned had the choice to either continue or stay and most of them chose to. The fact is coaching or playing for Nigeria is something that people will pay to do so if the conditions are too harsh he should quit but the truth is, in everything we do we should expect obstacles, we have to find way around them and not pout or look for sympathy. The man gets the chance again to lead the best country in the world to the Olympics, conditions or no conditions this should be a proud moment for him.

My question was National team coaches. So only Capello in the whole wild World and you feel it is okay. NFF is not a club going through financial challenges.

They are paying Oliseh and his coaches and starving Siasia. Is that nornal to you? Wickedness. This is nothing but pure sabotage.

Tell me a National team doing a wash and wear setting. I repeat, if Siasia fails, nobody should blame him because this is pure Sabotage.

NFF should change their name to National Sabotage Federation. NSF.

Do you know Capello had a poor run during the time the Russians owed him that led to Capello's sacking. Let the National Saboteurs continue their Sabo work. Let them not pay the coaches, the player bonuses and buy these young men kits.

“I think the situation created by the current Russian Football Union management is intolerable,” Usmanov Arsenal’s second-largest shareholder said. “It’s an embarrassment when a person who works for Russia doesn’t receive wages for his labour.”

Sunshine Stars striker Eduwo (right) could head to Finland

Nigeria U23 team invitee Kingsley Eduwo is on the radar of the Finnish club of Taye Taiwo, HJK Helsinki, ahead of a winter transfer.

Eduwo’s representative, Lanre Famakinwa, who got married to Oluwafunmilayo last weekend in Lagos, are interested in the 19-year-old Sunshine Stars striker.

"Kingsley (Eduwo) is on the radar of HJK Helsinki when the transfer window opens in January. Other clubs too are interested, but HJK are front runners for now," disclosed Famakinwa, who took Shehu Abdullahi to Al Qadsiya in Kuwait and manages Gomo Onduku.

Eduwo expressed his joy for the call-up by coach Samson Siasia and promised to give his best to make the final cut.

"I am very happy about my call-up to the U23 national team. I will do my best to make the final cut because I am eager to represent Nigeria," he said.

2015 CAF U23 Championship
NFF query Siasia over 'media outburst'

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have fired U23 coach Samson Siasia a query over what they described as his “media outburst” on Wednesday.

Siasia went public to accuse his employers of abandoning his team with a month to Rio Olympics qualifying tournament in Senegal.

He said the team are owed match bonuses, allowances and he himself has not been paid for three months.

He therefore declared he should not be held responsible should the country fail to qualify for the Olympics football event.

It has now been specially gathered that the NFF were “highly embarrassed” by the statements of the coach particularly after he was briefed by a top-ranking executive committee member about the financial predicament of the federation after the single treasury account adopted by the federal government came into force.

The query has demanded why sanctions should not be imposed on him for his “media outburst”.
The African U23 Nations Cup will be staged in Senegal from November 28 and it will serve as a qualifier for next year’s Olympics in Rio.

Siasia’s Dream Team VI are scheduled to train in Morocco and Gambia prior to the championship, where they are drawn against Egypt, Algeria and Mali.

Kelechi Iheanacho: I almost signed for Porto but my father told me to join Manchester City

IF Kelechi Iheanacho had got his way he would be playing for Porto now, not Manchester City.
By Richard Tanner

Kelechi Iheanacho produced an impressive display in the 5-1 rout against Crystal Palace
But after his impressive display on his first senior start against Crystal Palace in the Capital One Cup, City are thanking their lucky stars his father James changed his mind.

Many of Europe's top clubs were after striker Iheanacho when he was the star turn of Nigeria's World Under-17 Championship triumph two years ago, winning the competition's Golden Ball after scoring six goals and assisting seven others.

But Iheanacho's preference was to Porto because of the Portuguese club's tradition of recruiting players from Africa and South America and giving them first-team opportunities.

Iheanacho scoring Man City's third goal at the Etihad in the Capital One Cup

"I first heard of City's interest when I was with Nigeria for the World Under-17 qualifiers," he said. "When we finished the qualification process I had a few scouts approaching me and telling me I had quite a few clubs interested in signing me. But I didn't want to sign for anyone at that time, I just wanted to enjoy my football.

"Then when I was at the finals, I'd played a few games and that's when I agreed a deal with City. In all honesty I didn't know that much about the club at the time.

"I was close to signing for FC Porto, where I really wanted to go. But my agent said City was a much better prospect and my father told me I should join City because I would have a much better future here. So that's what I did.

"Nobody knows what will happen but because City are such a big team with so many fantastic players I didn't believe I'd have a future here. But my father did and he gave me to confidence I needed. Now I'm happy I took his advice."

Although Iheanacho agreed to join City in the summer of 2014, he had to wait until he was 18 before he could sign and then work-permit delays meant he couldn't play in England until February this year.

But he has quickly made up for lost time. He scored in the FA Youth Cup final against Chelsea in May and the following week netted the winner - against Porto, of all teams - as City lifted the Under-21s Premier League International Cup.

Promoted to the first-team squad in the summer, he scored the winner as a late sub at Selhurst Park last month and continued to impress in cameo appearances to convince Manuel Pellegrini he was ready for a first team start this week. And he fully justified his inclusion with a goal and two assists in City's 5-1 win.

His mother Mercy died after a short illness when he was 16 and with his father back in Nigeria, Iheanacho says Ivory Coast pair Wilfried Bony and Yaya Toure have taken him under their wing.

This post is not too different from the earlier one titled 'Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho: 'I wanted to join Porto' but I decided to post it hence, it has some contents that have vindicated Kelechi Iheanacho's Dad, Kelechi's late mum and the overall positive influence which his contract brings to bear on young aspiring footballers back home.

I for one, never welcomed the idea of Nacho choosing Mancity ahead of FC Porto. I also lashed out so hard on Nacho and The Dad, believing the motive behind his Dad's choice of Mancity was influenced greatly by the money which the Club was ready to bringout.

If Nacho had failed to hit the groung running with superb performances after he had joined Mancity, huhh!!! I would have been the first to bash them (Nacho and his Dad).

Now that the deal seems to benefit Nacho and the player's fans, no one seems to praise Nacho's Dad for that piece of advice that changed the last minute decision of Nacho to choose Mancity instead of FC Porto.

Why Man City fans have Kelechi Iheanacho's dad to thank for changing his son's mind

Manchester City teenager Kelechi Iheanacho was considering a move to Porto before his father convinced him he could be a success at the Etihad.

Manchester City fans have Kelechi Iheanacho's dad to thank after the teenage sensation admitted he almost joined Porto instead of the Blues.

The youngster marked his full City debut with a goal and two assists in a superb display against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

But it might never have been if the player hadn't listened to his father James.
City beat Porto and Sporting Lisbon to Iheanacho's signature in 2013 when they secured him on a pre-contract agreement before sealing his full signing when he turned 18 in October last year.

But Iheanacho, 19, almost opted for Porto - before his dad convinced him he had what it took to be a success at City.

"I was close to signing for FC Porto where I really wanted to go," he said. "City are such a big team with so many fantastic players, I didn’t believe I’d have a future here.
"But my father did and he gave me the confidence I needed. I’m happy I took his advice.

"I’d played a few games at the Under-17 World Cup finals, and that’s when I agreed a deal with City. In all honesty, I didn’t know that much about the club at the time."

Iheanacho has revealed the memory of his late mother and making his family at home in Nigeria proud is driving him on to succeed.

The youngster's mum Mercy passed away in 2013 and Iheanacho said: "My father was a trader and my mum was a teacher, but she was laid to rest a few years ago which was really hard for all of us.

"I have two brothers and a sister back in Nigeria as well. Everything I do, I do for my mum and my family – that’s what drives me.

"My dad is back home and I’m living on my own in Manchester at the moment.

"But I think a lot of kids back home have been encouraged by what’s happened to me and by where I am today. They can’t believe what I’ve achieved at 19 and it gives them belief that they can make it too."

The country's football body has apologised to the Dream Team VI handler following his recent outburst over unpaid salaries and allowances

The Nigeria Football Federation has pleaded for understanding with the Nigeria U23 national team coach, Samson Siasia, contrary to media report that the later was queried over his 'media outburst', Goal can exclusively report.

Earlier, Siasia in a chat with local media accused his employers of abandoning his team with just a month to 2016 Olympics qualifying tournament in Senegal.

He further said that his team is being owed match bonuses and allowances for nine months while the former Nigerian international was yet to be paid for three months. The former Nigeria U20 trainer exonerated himself of any future blame should the country fail to qualify for the Olympics football event.

Goal learnt that the NFF never issued any query notice to the Dream Team VI gaffer, but has promised to pay outstanding salaries, players and officials' allowances on Monday next week.

After missing out on the female ticket, Nigeria's only chance of taking part in the football event in next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeirio, Brazil lies with the upcoming African U-23 championship billed for Senegal from November 28.

Do u know there are coaches out there that actually volunteer their time and even use their own funds to surport their players?
Capello's case is a clear example of what I am talking about, the man had coached all over the world and made lots of money, he signed a 6.5 million Euro a year deal with Russia of which they had made prior payments so it is safe to say he had least had 6.5 in the bank being that he took them to the world cup, so where does he get the nerves to complain? Was his light and water off? Did he not have cable? The average Russian does not make nearly that much so I am sure that they don't want to hear that either, they want performance.

This is might be a news flash to u and Siasia but life in Nigeria is tough, what message are we sending if our coach can just list some faults and say he might fail. Can a police officer publicly come out and say he won't watch the street well because he is being owed? think about the kids what message are we tryin to send here, look at how bad our educational system is compared to the western world, should the children just give up because they have no books or light to study? Do the teachers stop coming?
I always say sports is a microcosm of society and whatever u allow in sports will make its way to ur doorstep.

**smiles** I have this kind of Dad....... *I remember mentioning such in this thread*

A Dad who's a perfectionist and "believes" his son can be the best in the world at anything he does.....*smiles*

To be honest, that kinda really helped "shape" my mentality and today I stand as a youngster in the midst of "Giants" learning and getting training from some of the best in the world of science and medicine in my foreign research scholarships program........ In combination with my Mbbs studies having wrapped up my first degree earlier/recently......

*smiles* My mom and Dad really left a marker with me........ And so had Nacho's Dad.

I have "big ambitions and dreams" that keep me "grounded" and always working to keep improving.

Being a medical student, a research scholar/resident on full scholarships at a top foreign institution, and a 1st med. degree holder/graduate makes me know that I can make "those big dreams" come true........ All I gotta do is what Sir GoodJoe once said..... "keep working, keep training, keep listening".

Nacho's Dad is "NOT GREEDY"...... HE'S JUST A MAN THAT KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE THE "SUPER TALENTS" OF HIS SON BELONGS........"AT THE TOP, WITH THE VERY BEST"........ And this is exactly how my Dad thinks.
**SMILES**

exactly.

The main thing here is the publicity, it is far easier to notice an average player in the EPL than a great player in the Portuguese league.....

Not saying Iheanacho is average, but that publicity he's getting is almost priceless
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheSuperNerd(m): 5:56pm On Oct 30, 2015
Money was considered too no doubt but wasn't the "predominant" issue.......

Look, the whole truth is this: Nacho's Dad wanted his son to learn from some of the very best AND COZ OF PUBLICITY TOO (like u earlier pointed out)...... Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure and more.

Man City completed the most expensive And most "super equipped" football campus in England called "the Etihad campus"..... Costing £200
m
illion...

It's made up of top/world class facilities and Equipments..... Utilised by a team of coaches and professionals comprising some of the best youth coaches in Europe headed by Former La masia/Barcelona football director..... Txiki Begiristain (hope I got his name right).

This "Txiki" guy oversaw a period as Barca's director of football
from 2003-2010 during Barca's GOLDEN YEARS.... Under him... Messi came through La masia successfully.... Same with Pique and Busquets, just to mention a few.

He joined Man City in October 2012 in same capacity as "director of football" at the Etihad.

Do you think it's coincidence that Man City are fast becoming a super power house in Europe?? No way... Begiristain is part of that reason. And he came to the Etihad with a small team of top coaches that worked with him at Barca's La masia.

In Pellegrini, Man City have a top talent groomer.......

So, you see Sir....... Nacho's dad must have taken note of some of these and came to the conclusion that in all MAN CITY IS NACHO'S BEST FIT....

So it wasn't really about the money..... It was MORE about "TRAINING WITH OR LEARNING FROM THE BEST TO BE THE BEST" and of course Money will always follow the best..... **smiles**

Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho made the Capital One Cup (League Cup) Team of the Round after his impressive display against Crystal Palace in the fifth round of the competition.
Iheanacho was handed his first senior competitive start by Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, and he didn’t disappoint.
The Nigerian assisted goals for Kevin De Bruyne and Manu Garcia in their 5-1 rout of Crystal Palace, and also tucked one of his own away in the second half.
The 19-year-old is joined by Sheffield Wednesday’s Lucas Joao and Stoke City's Jonathan Walters in attack.
Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne also made the team alongside Sebastien Bassong ,Daniel Ayala, Maya Yoshida in defence while Ross Wallace, Barry Bannan, Joao Carlos Teixeira are the midfield trio.
Stoke City’s Jack Butland was named in goal for his exceptional performance against Chelsea, pulling off a string of fine saves against the likes of Diego Costa, Oscar, Kurt Zouma and Kenedy, before making the decisive penalty shoot-out save from Eden Hazard.

I do not get your point. Is Siasia as rich as Capello? Capello is one of the highest earning coaches of all time. Why equate Siasia to him?

Life is hard in Nigeria. We all know that but the National Saboteurs Federation have the money to pay the salary of Siasia and his crew. If it is not true, why pay Oliseh and his crew three months advance?

Please, if this is how they want to sabotage Siasia, they should not expect him to give them results.

on paper man city can never be a better football college (training young players) than Porto na.
obviously it was porto 's smaller money jhur

Do you think Gary Neville does not know better training colleges? Gary Neville registered his son at Man City Etihad campus instead of Man Utd academy.

The Etihad campus has one of the best facility and equipments in the World and they employ the best coaches they can find. It is not just a case of money but the standard of education there.

Nacho wanted to go to Porto because of less competition. Not because of better training opportunity. He believed he would break into the main team of Porto faster than he would as a Citizen.

Of course i can equate Siasia to Capello both of them are well to do, one might be richer than the other but they are both rich compared to the people in their countries so what don't u get? Siasia hasn't been paid in 3 months, what about the other months? Isn't that more than most Nigerian have ever dreamt of? I don't know about u but the average salary a month in my area is 20k and im being nice it could even be lower, so how can Siasia cry poor to those kind of people? If we were to go by what u r saying this country would be ran by terrorist because our military is not as equipped as other places.
You should also know that we have a president who won't allow the NFF to just grab and go with citizen's money, the NFF does not print money if u have proof that they are stealing let us see but to insinuate and allege without evidence is wrong. Let us not focus on the NFF alone it is a nationwide problem when every Nigerian can be assured of getting their pay on time, then Siasia might have a case.

What proof are you looking for? Why not pay Oliseh and his crew for two months and pay Siasia and his crew who earn far less than Oliseh for at least one month to ease their suffering.

Is that not beyond partial if the National Sabo Federation believe Money is a motivating Factor for Oliseh? Then they know lack of money will have the opposing effect.

I am waiting to here Siasia thanking them for the money. Until then, they are Sabotaging the young coach.

my guy equipment and facility in a new project can't be trusted like a renowned production line na if it is just by state of the art facility Chelsea youth team players 4rm the 2011 set (josh mceachran and co) should be all over the world now but no a lot of dem now ply their trade in the chsmpionship.
iheanacho to man city was a talented boy to a sophisticated school but a sophisticated school is never enough (ask bojan) u need a lot of 1st team experience to keep improving which was what iheanacho was sure of with Porto but not sure with city that was why he personally opted for porto.the point am trying to pass across is that I will stick to my trusted tekno than go for an innjoo that a friend told me is super cool but I have not really seen in action.
iheanacho's father didn't have a special eye that could see what almost 150 million Nigerians couldn't see my oga he went for the MONEY

Who said sophisticated school is enough? Are you saying if your child has a scholarship to IMSU or Havard to read Medicine you will take IMSU because a Sophisticated school is never enough?

Nacho's father, just like any other father will see the procedure and the packaging of the proposal for his son to know which is best for him.

That is what a lot of Nigerians could not see.

Note I was one of those who wanted Nacho at the Etihad campus and I gave my reasons. Most importantly, he would get a chance to work with Pellegrini.

If you followed news about the Etihad campus, you would have wanted Nacho there too.

**smiles**

my point is that training with the best too was considered but money was predominant. guy reason it now the man city academy deal was one hell of a BIG risk.players like munir and Sandro ramires are too good for the academy already but they are stuck there and its affecting dem already like it did bojan (minor=10 matches goalless, Sandro =12 matches goalless) it affected the progress of tello and Pedro too.see if u are ready for a higher level and u don't get d chance to play it somehow stagnates you and leads to a permanent decline in ability e.g saponara of a.c Milan same would have happened to pogba but he seized his destiny.so Nigerians had that in might as it could easily have happened to him too but finally GODWIN #to me it ain't the father super idea it was just a greedy bad turn good kinda thing
exactly.

The main thing here is the publicity, it is far easier to notice an average player in the EPL than a great player in the Portuguese league.....

Not saying Iheanacho is average, but that publicity he's getting is almost priceless[/quote
yes its a priceless publicity and I leave dat 4 the dad am sure he saw that 1 clearly

dude you are a "citizen" na hu wouldn't want a special talent in their club.
working with pellegrini wouldn't hold a candle to him being brought up in the Porto "culture" for 1 isco Porto would give u 4 iscos.
OK what happens if pellegrini got sacked early since he was a major attraction cuz Porto have shown over the years that training talent in the club transcends the border of their coaches as each new coach doesn't stop the production culture. so if nachos dad have weighed the pros and cons Porto was always the better choice#the only way I would believe it wasn't for the money is if nachos dad doesn't knew the pedigree of porto

look Oliseh just started this gig, did they owe Siasia in is first 3 months? Nigerians must learn that money issues are personal and should be kept in house. Siasia is not suffering and if u think he is u might need a reality check, there are plenty of government workers out there going without pay u can feel sorry for them, if Siasia is suffering it is his own fault that would mean he squandered his fortune and 3 month salary won't change a thing.
