Count in weeks not months.
Your wife can travel up until she's 36weeks since dats what most airline deadline is for carrying preggys. Forget dat counting in month thing unless you want to count and reach 10 months lol

Shebi Dr F is the one people have been Complaining about? I suggest u get another dr and reapply. My reason for saying this is because of a comment the Vo Made on the other thread that they know Drs that are not safe

I agree with you.
They have seen that name one too many times.
And when they ask how you found out about the doctor n you claim I researched and googled it without coming clean to say nairaland they immediately deduce you ate LYING which is a big red flag for them.

If you lie about your source if doctor whom they have seen a long queue presenting same correspondence what says you ate not lying about other intentions.

Please newbies try to research other docs that can give you correspondence because the kind doc F have been over flogged n his correspondence have lost ground with too baby presentations.

Put in a lil work n get ursef d visa. .

Gud luck y'all. .

Nice to see all the testimonies of safe deliveries . For those seeking VBAC please be careful even if you have been promised one by the doc. You might end up with a CS because most of these dr don't want to take chances so once labour delays they just do a CS sharp sharp and you end up paying more for an unscheduled CS .
Please I also notice a trend here that once you have an issue with a dr we tend to bad mouth him at the slightest opportunity. some body presented dr F correspondence and was denied a visa the next thing you come up to say that she was denied because the VO knows that he is a bad dr. Meanwhile many people have presented his correspondence and were granted.somebody just had a baby yesterday and had no complaints about him. I had my babies last year and had no complaint whatsoever. Please let's be careful about our utterances. I ran a service providing biz as well so I know what it is when there is a negative comment about a biz

Lol, I guess the security deposit before arrival is a form of commitment to be sure you are serious about using the accommodation and to secure a space for you. Cos some pple will ask to reserve a space for them even when they ain't serious or haven't finalize their plans yet or even still looking for other accommodation options. The money will be refunded before you leave. I didn't pay before arrival dou, guess this is a recent development due to inflow of pple.

Honey with all due respect. I stated my opinion and what informed it. There was a time a lotta people complained about a certainn doctor. About practices that were potentially unsafe. We all know these boards are perused by the embassy. Closely. I also drew her attn to an offhand comment by the lagos vo in the visit thread wherein s/he said they are aware of unsafe doctors. I have never used said dr F and was only trying to find a solution /suggestion to her plight and not intented to bad mouth.
The badmouthing had already been done and any /if any damage done.

Hello Everyone,

Please I need urgent help with information.
I plan to travel to Houston Texas with my 2yr old by Jan to give birth. My questions r

1. Do they accept correspondence from birth centers at the Lagos embassy where I plan to interview? Cus everyone here uses hospital but I prefer to birth in a birth center with a widwive.

2. Can someone send me samples of their birth plan or budget to get an insight on how to articulate mine.

3. Anyone used a birth center in Houston before? I plan on using west Houston Birth Center?

4. I need help with accommodation info. Around west Houston. Anyone know a good place for me and my 2year old?

Anyone planning to travel by 2nd week of Jan to Houston? Maybe we can hook up?

Please I will aprreciate ur answers and assistance so I can finalise my Ds160 from and arrangement and book visa interview.

1. Birth centre -For embassy purpose. No. U can birth there but successful interviews have been hospitals. Read the ending part of the last part of this thread. Can't remember who now went with birth centre and was bounced.
2. Budget sheet. Search for Phema's posts. Or do a search. It has been uploaded several times.
3. No idea
4. Houston is a popular destination and I have heard soul care being menioned several times. I advice u to read up cos people are unlikely to answer those recurring questions that u can read up on.
Good luck

I don't have any issue with people expressing their opinions that is what this forum is meant for. But we should just be careful in doing so.i intentionally did not quote you because I don't want to join issues with you. When the VO talked about knowing bad dr he / she did not mention names so I think it's unfair to assume he was referring to a particular dr if you have not used a dr I don't think you are in a position to make a comment about him. Let people who have done so give their feed back.one man's meat can be another man's poison no bad blood only my one cent

Very kool place to stay, just like home. Not too far to the hospital and shopping centers. I can't say of the distance to the doctor's place because we all have diff doctors assigned to us. Getting baby's documentation can be fast when expedited, when you come around u'll guided. You can come with a valid drivers license, there's an available car you can take out once in a while. All the best.

Thanks a lot dear, I really appreciate. Pls did u use our Nigerian drivers license or intl drivers license? Thanks

Jeeeeezzzzz, So the VO denied the applicant because of a bad doctor fagbohun?. Did the VO even said that? I have been watching with rapt attention as some members innocently or knowingly destroy peoples reputation on this thread but its time i take a stand. I have been playing the jester for a while but I will no longer keep quiet on a lot of sensitive issues.

Apart from Uchetobi and a few others, I was one of the people that wrote about fagbohun services and birthing in oakbend in general. I never held back his negative aspects, before we became friends i even fought him and explained that here so that anyone one using him can do their due diligence. The problem is that everyone flooded him without researching other places and nobody needs to be told that with time the embassy will get tired of seeing his name. That was how Doctores parati was also overused. Without holding brief for him i dont expect him to have 100% success rate with his deliveries, with the kind of crowd he has some cases will definitely go bad . If such happens the affected patients have the right to seek utmost redress and they are also free to share their feedback. But it gets bad when 3rd parties who never used him starts to destroy his reputation here because you belong to a clique or for some other reasons. Having cliques in itself is not bad but to what end its been used is very important.

To start with how many of us has fagbohun begged for patronage? We are the one rushing to him . However,He is one of the few doctors who sends letters without charging a dime ,a lot of people collects that letter and never show up at his clinic. Therefore it is unfair to run him down without considering other good he has done. If some of you are in his shoes how will you feel really ? Fagbohun has never been to this thread to share his own side of the story and thats the danger of hearing a SINGLE STORY,i will stop on that for now.

I want to talk generally now, Yes some members on this thread are turning to BULLIES!!! Some members dont have answers or clear understanding of issues but they just have to talk for talking sake. Meanwhile a lot of you were helped even when you were abroad but as soon as you birth and come back you take up a different mindset. When people can no longer share their mind and ask questions it becomes a problem. I laughed when i saw some members advocating for PM(private messages) when Justwise wanted to ban Doctors contact. If the old members had operated via PM you wont even be a member of this thread. I was the one who advised Soulcare to advertise on this thread, i also contacted Seun when her advert was not hosted without benefiting anything financially because any help i render is to God and humanity. I also did that to honor the rules of the thread . I am not sure seun has reached out to that client for further patronage in a while. What is the customer retention plan? The content of the thread has been user generated so i have been bothered about how things are going.

And to all members stalking agents please do it with wisdom so that there is no distrust and fear, if i dont know better i would have said @ladyguineverre is also an agent by attempting to demarket fagbohun.

I will take it upon myself to reach out to fagbohun , he needs to review his policies and be mindful of how he handle patients complaints but we should be mindful of how we run people down especially fellow Nigerians abroad. And dont be surprised if he stops sending letters like other doctors who dont send any. I patiently expect knocks, whip etc on all the areas that i have mentioned but i will no longer keep quiet on sensitive issues.

Hm.I just wanna chime in at the clique issue. If there's one I have no idea. If I passed the info in an improper way, do state it. If the issue is overflooding the said Dr state so.
I maintain my stand. I stated my church mind based on what I saw/read. All the other issues...I have noo idea.
Opinions shoud be disagreed with. Personalizing it? Good luck with that

In other matters, i had my baby on the 22nd oct. Was discharged on the 24th . had her paed visit on the 28th , settled our bill on the 29th ( it still stood at the 6500, only addition was 275 for labs) Got the short form of her BC from the office of vital records on the 30th. Applied for us passport same day but was asked to collect on 2nd nov. Applied for naija passport 2nd nov and collected both passports on the same day. Also ssn came in by mail yesterday. So with this, My american dream/ journey which has had its fair share of highs and lows is coming to an end. I leave for naija on friday. Yay!!!! Baby will be 2 weeks 1 day ( i told you ozycy that you are my mentor wink . i cant wait to hold both my babies, ive so missed my 5 yr old and im glad his crying spells will finally be over. Thank you Lord!

P.S i looooooove this thread bbaby84, modath, ladygunivere, firsttymum, nerfertitiram, olokings, phema, shawlar, bigfido, kaaka, twizzie, financefitness, shrekandfiona, favoredgal, amother4life, omogedudy99, sessibasi, dumdum01 and all the moms from anonymousmom to zoemummy. cheesy youre all an intelligent bunch and everyone else too that has contributed in one way or the other. But most of all babababy who did most of this leg work in 2013. God bless you all

Congrats once more Tobermom, which hospital did you use? My hospital send the BC might take as much as 4 weeks before the data gets to vital records. Which is really delaying already.
