betty1983: NICS is an acronym for newborn intensive care specialists. They are the neonatal(pediatric) practice that oakbend uses for the care of newborn delivery including the hearing test. The acronym sounds like NICU neonatal intensive care unit where babies requiring special attention arw taken to. but they are different. Hope you understand better now? 3 Likes |

So i think this is worth sharing. I learnt Sterling bank was giving PTA from this forum and decided to open an account, so i can atleast save some money buying at 199 compared to BDCs 227... Anyways i opened the account and a week later, i won 50k... lol... Apparently they randomly pick from new acc holders. That was really nice. Not always so lucky at winning stuff... Guess my baby is an Akorede( bringer of gifts and wealth). I wish i could leave at 35wks like some of you guys, but i always suffer preterm contractions n i had a weak cervix in my last preg. I was 3cm dialated from 6mnths n it had to be managed, taking steroid shots et al. Well it is inly wise i go early again. Kisses to all the LOs 15 Likes |

Chicagomum: Yes o. They will attend to people with less serious cases before us - e.g people on visa waiver programs (UK , etc) and people from American territories who are not residents or citizens of American but get visa on arrival. 10 weeks is tight but its still workable as long as baby cooperates and comes in good time. Hope you do not have too many weeks to your EDD so that you can deliver the baby, do your documentation and leave before the 10 weeks are up. With the last encounter you had, I will advise you to be prepared with extra copies of all your receipts of payment when you want to come back home. I remember a mama sharing about the stress they gave her at the point of exit. Congratulations all the same. You have overcome and will continue to overcome. Wish you the best as you wait for the arrival of ur baby. |

Congrats Chicagomum God pass them! If they like make dem stamp u for 10 weeks. I'm sure you'll be out of there before then. Afterall see Ozycy's testimony! South Africa people will stamp you for ONE day after your planned departure! Like say person wan stay forever before. Wishing u a successful and eventfree delivery. Glad this thread is back to normal now. More fun than reading pages of worthless arguments. 1 Like |

Congratulations @Tobermom.She shall be a blessing to her family and generation in Jesus name. @mamacajah I wanted to ask for the cost breakdown of the hospital you used in Atlanta(Doctors hospital) and if you can help with further information in respect of further cost associated with twin birth costs too. From your posts I saw that you did some research on Northside Hospital for a friend,I also need all you have got on them .Although I sent an email to Northside they just replied with a generic mail where they said you are entitled to 75% off if am self pay but they are silent on epidural, paediatrician,NICU,etc my NL email is helrichards@yahoo.com.Thanks 2 Likes |

Bisoye82:@Bisoye82, I used Doctors Hospital Augusta, its 2.5hrs away from Atlanta. I don't know much about twin births but from information given on the thread, its either you go to Houston or El paso for better package deals. For northside, @shawbabe gave birth in Atlanta so maybe she can give more information on it. My friend ended up using another hospital as she said Northside was too far from her accommodation. She was not looking for package deal so I doubt if it was cheap but I can find out the details for you if you want.Sorry I couldn't be of more help. 1 Like |

Cuteaidomo: Very kool place to stay, just like home. Not too far to the hospital and shopping centers. I can't say of the distance to the doctor's place because we all have diff doctors assigned to us. Getting baby's documentation can be fast when expedited, when you come around u'll guided. You can come with a valid drivers license, there's an available car you can take out once in a while. All the best. 1 Like |

If you don't get through, I will recommend you call one of the agents - Tanko or eddy to help you asap. You may need to pay them though. But I imagine it shouldn't matter if you are desperate. Will also be likely cheaper than rescheduling their flight. francmoda: |

All the glory to God! I arrived Detroit yesterday via KLM, flew klm to Amsterdam and delta to Detroit. I flew at 31 weeks and wasn't asked for fitness to fly. After paying 34usd for a preferred seat on the flight to Amsterdam I was so disappointed. The seat beside me was vacant and some annoying guy with a stinking breath who didn't like his original seat was made to sit there and made my trip so uncomfortable with his constant poking, turning and yawning. There were so many vacant seats o, I wonder why he was directed to that one mschewww. Got to Amsterdam around 5.30am and had to wait 4hrs 30mins for the flight to Detroit. Thank God I requested for special assistance, I was driven in that their auto wheel to a service centre where I chilled and was picked up later and dropped at my boarding gate. Getting to the gate o, i go find trouble. Instead of me to just lay low with my big belle and green passport, I got up to go speak with one of the ladies at the counter ( after all I was honest at my visa interview so why hide), the seat on my boarding pass and seat I reserved did not tally and I wanted to know why. I hadn't finished asking my question when one black guy in suit asked to see my passport. That's how questions you expect at Poe started, he took me aside and asked for my reason for going to the U.S. Me: childbirth Guy in suit (GIS): you are quite direct Me: (b4 Nko) GIS: let me have your documents (he types on his phone for a while) Before I knew it, he said you were denied a visa to the UK in 2014 Me: yes I was and I reapplied in 2015 and got it (y do they keep hammering on this denial sef) GIS: what do you do and what does your hubby do Me: I sha respond He asked a lot, went through every single doc and finally let me join the queue to board the plane. Got to Detroit and was wheeled to immigration, the friendly Cbp asked the normal questions and requested for docs and sent me for secondary inspection. Let me add that Detroit airport was empty so they had a lot of time on their hands. The guy who wheeled me left me, the Cbp was initially acting all tough but he later relaxed and joked with me. Went through my documents, I had just 3kusd cash on me ( he didn't ask to see it). Had bank statement of 4m Naira which he asked to see. He concluded that I made sure all my bills were paid and receipts collected. Let me add he also talked about the UK visa that was denied ( how long will dt singular denial hunt me?) I was stamped till may 2016. Someone finally came to wheel me out after spending 15mins listening to other people's interview. Went to Agric and tuber of yam was seized. Finally with my wonderful sister inlaw and family. Baby is due Xmas day and I will be using henry-ford. May God grant us all safe delivery and all the best to the other moms who are just starting this mission. 20 Likes |

nefertitiram: Seems they look for the meanest & harshest 1st gen immigrants & employ them at O'hare to checkmate "potential immigrant".... 10 weeks is ok nah, no be 7 i spend in total? Didn't ozycy even spend less... nothing dey happen all way na road.. @ chicagomum , Pele for the stress, dem nor reach... 10 weeks is morw than enough, na dem sabi .. Just ensure your receipt is in your handbag on your way out in case their head touch , & they want to do POExit check.... Despite stamping me in for 6 months, they still had brain touch & acted brand new.... |

modath:Lol, I spent exactly 7weeks too. My babies can like to bake very well before coming out. 10 weeks is more than enough to give birth, gather baby's documents and port. Even if baby wants to stay 42weeks of which most US doctors don't allow, she still got 3weeks left. 1 Like |

francmoda:You should contact Tanko, his address it's the same with the Naija embassy address. Or Eddy. I think pple applying for naija visa themselves should have enough time atleast 2-3 weeks before travel date to avoid stories or delay. If I had time, I would have loved to apply myself. |

There are mosquitoes here o... Massive blood sucking ones too. Although I don't think they're malaria carriers. One latched itself to my mums face today sucking away, it didn't even budge when I swatted it away, I had to pretty much lift it off her face bbaby84: 1 Like |
