Setaje:These are a very cogent questions .....for "discerning minds"! *Why did IPOB not raise this kind of "hell", when they have a better chance of achieving results, (under Jonathan)? *Why did Nnamdi kanu not "air" his Radio Biafra treasonous statements, so loudly, under GEJ, when he would probably recieve a "warm reception"? *Why did the Ibos not show this kind of 'anger' at their Chairmen and Governors, who "collect and loot" their share of the National cake? Yet they waste their energy on Fashola, Governor of Lagos! *WHY NOW? When a Northerner is the President... and a Westerner is the Vice President? A lot of people are asking these same questions! A "school of thought" examines these issues critically and came to the conclusion that" "Ibo agitations are primarily driven by hatred (of the Yorubas), rabid Anger (at the Hausas), "sense of".. and a "plot for" vengeance (towards the Yorubas), Hypocrisy (towards and within their own tribesmen), mischief (at the whole polity, to cause mayhem) and a sense of weakness/failure (for under-achieving, within the Nigerian political spectrum). Thus, such agitations are not only bound to fail as they are based on "non-altruistic and emotional premise", such agitations are viewed with suspicion, by everyone else and therefore not taken seriously. This is a honest assessment, from someone on "the other side" of the divide but then, l wont expect any Ibo person to agree with it because that would be an admission of failure...something which "Ego and Self-pride cum self-delusion", will not permit, .....qualities which the Ibo persona has in very high dosage. ![]() My Take. lastpage:oga,if you read my post very well, you would understand i didnt in anywhere say that Fed Govt. should take over State Govt duties The Work of the fed Govt. is to build Federal Roads&major bridges like 2nd Niger bridge,Clean up Oil spillages..etc..This is there primary job.Am not going to start singing all about Electricity, jobs,Security ish..this is the basic works of the govt and its not what we are seeing..For me to travel from Enugu down to Anambra,i have to take a different route..And if one takes into Acct what people agitating for Biafra wants, they are asking for 3 things just like the Niger Deltans are asking for good roads, portable water, jobs among other things; Equal opportunities at Federal Level,Rehabilitation of Major Roads&2nd Niger Bridge..its not like they are asking for presidency or Security or jobs in which we all know that an average igbo man doesnt depend on govt before he feeds.. Its Easy for us to criticise people and think they are acting crazy but until you fully understand what they go through, you would think twice.Niger Delta Regions are a perfect example |

Onyocha:We've read all these crap from naysayer. Infact the greater the naysayers the greater our resolve to do away with the children of uthman dan fodio. Mr hausawa abooki, the protector of the SS, the killer of their leaders and the looter of their resources and destroyer of their ecosystem. You think the Nigerdelta are fools? Every Biafran province will own its resources 100%. Igbo Biafrans have fared well without oil billions and morever the oil value is falling everyday. Just go tend to your cows. Biafrans have one destiny. We have nothing in common with the crude and cruel children of uthman dan fodio who wear their bedsheets on their heads. |

lastpage:Sir, let's take Kanu, the timing of the agitation, and the mentality/emotions of the average Igbo out of the equation. Let's look at Nigeria with a clear mind - do you actually believe Nigeria is a country and it can function properly like a country? You answer would be the premise for my next post. Err...sometimes, it isn't always about the messenger and timing of an event. It's about grabbing an opportunity whenever it presents itself - hence folks will always tell you to be ever ready cos you never know when the opportunity will come. |

vanbonattel:Truth hurts...sooo bad and it is difficult to swallow! ![]() Just for example, look at how Yorubas were able to "manage" their loss during the "MKO Abiola annulled election" (by a Northerner in person of Ibrahim Babangida), ......to the point of "immediately" producing a two-time Yoruba President, and now a Vice President and most likely the next President... ....and you will get what l mean when l say they are "sophisticated". That is not boasting, it is just pointing out the obvious. Now, imagine if MKO Abiola and what happened to him were to be of the Ibo race, l am sure, just as you are, that the outcome will be totally different, basically they will come out of it completely ruined, if they even come out at all. That is the difference between the two races. Lastpage! |

Rapture007:you are the unenlightened one here. How many of the insults obama receives were threats to US unity? How many called for the picking of arms against america? Calling your president clueless or a dullard is quite different from saying you will blow up the country with arms and ammunitions the way nnamdi kanu does. That's treason. |

Let's look at Nigeria with a clear mind - do you actually believe Nigeria is a country and it can function properly like a country? You answer would be the premise for my next post.Bros Shymex, Nigeria is a country ... by geographical definition. It is recognised as a country, by the United Nations and it is soveriegn. can it ("Is it" ...........is quite the correct way to put it) functioning "properly" like a country? The answer to that is "No". It has challenges, huge ones for that matter! from corruption to mal-administration, e.t.c. NB: I have deliberately avoided mentioning that Nnamdi kanu and the many cogent questions l raised earlier... so that we can get a handle on this discussion because like l said, "timing is of essence", in any struggle. lastpage:Good analogy! Now my own reading of the same example is pure cowardice. If the west stood up and challenged the north for once instead of the greed for presidency which still bastardized the country and left things the same, leaving us all still in this quagmire. You are right, the Igbo would have reacted differently. |

Its true... Any 50yr old man now was a kid when the war was being fought not even up a teenager. So all these protesters that are lusting after a war don't have a clear view of what is on their mind. Well, Nigeria can't break without a war. So I hope millions of Biafrans are ready to be in hell. Maybe that way we can sanitize Nigeria. |

Unfortunately, the north has become the scapegoat here.once upon a time,a region that was know as very peaceful &accomodating to all&sundry irrespective of where you from.SWners&SEners thronged the north for economic activities&livelihood.the region was economically progressing not until the trigger-happy coupists(you know who)pointed guns at each other&spilled their own bloods.for the very first time in the history of this country, the seed of distrust was sown in our military.fear&apprehension gripped d whole nation&our unity was almost torn apart.Aguiyi in his political naivety via a unitary decree took from d north their sense of development&concentrate at the center.therefore, its either you have it all at the center or come cap in hand to the center.but unlike the south&east, the north are not naturally creative, forward thinking&academically inclined.hence the resolve to clinge to power. No lie only truth. |
