Lagos with just 2180 is surprising.
Imo with over 5000 FG civil servants is eye opening.

Generally, more FG civil servants in the South than in the North (averagely speaking). Yet we all brag that those Nortgerners only rely on FG.

If fewer of them work with the government, does it not tell us majority fend for themselves? If anything, it's their politicians and leaders who enjoy the largesse while the commoners bear the brunt of poor leadership, same as majority of Nigerians.
lolzzzz
Let us take it that this statics are true...
Which people are the directors, managers and perm secs of ministries?
The south might have more workers but the north actually have more directors etc than the south. Because even if you are a cleaner in federal government establishment, you are a staff too.

No wonder many do not want to return to Biafra.

Please the figure is wrong if paramilitary are among. Infact federal schools and hospital alone are more than that. Let alone all other ministries.

The North is bound to have more people in the Forces, but it is not because of any fault of theirs. The truth is most of us from the South (SW, SE, SS) would not readily join the armed forces. We feel we are too educated and too sophisticated for that. I know of a few people whose families actually barred and strongly discouraged from joining the NDA after they finished secondary school, not to now talk of finishing higher education and saying you want to join Army, Navy, Customs etc. They will just call a family meeting on your case.

The reverse is the case in the North though. They consider the armed forces as a place of prestige. Also, the less educated can easily get into the Armed forces, and you will agree that the North is under-educated. It is only now because of the high rate of unemployment that people from the South are now considering the Forces as a means of steady income.
most times we tend to write without looking to the reasons.
It was aftermath of the civil war that made southerners especially Igbos to be less in the military. It was not written in any book, but because from Gowon to Abdulsalami the north control the military and they recruit more of their own also it is easier for a northner to gain admission into NDA than those from the south.
If you graduate at the same time with northern same day. Soon he will be rapidly promoted while you will still be where you were.
It is hard to survive in the force as a Southerner than a Northerner

what are you talking about?

have you lived in the North before?

how many northeners are averagely educated?

do you know how those guys are begged to at least go to school over there?

when I was there, junior class, they beg them to go to school with a cup of tea...

so they should be employed without any form of education at all?

I'm not sure you thought or researched before typing...

Sincerely u knw nuffin about North. Ar u trying to imply that all graduates of northern extraction are duly employed in the civil service do you also mean that formed d basis of using SEners to fill in the vacant quota left by the North's inabilty to produce graduates that can fill in

Stop for a moment with the propaganda and be honest with yourself. Most southern parents are more interested in seeing their kids become Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Accountants and what not than having them join the military. We are more interested in seeing our kids get a University education than going into the Army. I have also worked in a military barracks before some 12 years ago and had dealings with officers and soldiers alike. You even tend to have more Southerners in the officers corp than you have among the soldiers. We simply gave control of the military to them by our actions and inactions.

Misleading writeup by fake mutum. Kano and Lagos state with their population of over 10million each don't have up to 5000 federal civil servants? When it comes to census they apportion bogus numbers to them.

Er, bro your logic is kinda skewed. To start with many people who are not from Lagos by origin still get counted as part of its population as long as they are in Lagos when the census was held and didn't travel back home to be counted in their state of origin. Secondly, the private sector employs more people in Lagos than the public sector (federal and state), unlike some states that are seen to be "civil service states". Lastly, most Lagos indigenes are more likely to be working with the Lagos State government than even the federal government.

List their State of residence where they pay taxes and contribute to the development not where they have probably visited and touched in not more than a year of their lives on earth.

Federal civil servants are not only in Abuja. Most of them stay where they work in state where the federal secretariats and bureaus are located.

Marginalization of the north my foot. This shows that those who claim to have population of over 10million only do so to lay claim to larger share of national cake e.g Kano with about 44 LGAs
Swerve one side joor. You can't tell me that there's any one state in Nigeria that doesn't have, at least, 6000 willing and able qualified graduates who'd love to join the Federal Civil Service. That this kind of lopsided representation exists at all is an indictment of the Federal Character Commission, and it's either the principle of federal character and the commission are swept aside at once, or the Commission itself is overhauled in order to prevent against further injustice.

That you have a job doesn't mean you have bearing, that some people believe in Biafra and pursues it doesn't mean they don't have bearing.

From Wole Soyinka : "Biafra can never be defeated"

You did better stick to the fake topic than bringing in Biafra.

The term "civil service", in administrative parlance, refers only to the Ministries and offices like that of the HOS. Hence, civil servants are those who work directly in ministries. While a policeman, an immigration officer, an NNPC employees and a Customs officer are all government employees, they are public servants, not civil servants. The federal workforce is larger than what is cited in the original post. It covers only the federal civil service.

Thank you. I still think that number is small.

Thank you! Don't mind them. Na ignorance dey worry them. Someone will just sit in his room somewhere and start posting rubbish online. They should visit any of the postgraduate schools in the North to see brilliant northerners who have good grades in their first degrees, and have chosen to further their studies in order to give them better chances in the labour market due to the level of unemployment in the country, which affects all of us by the way.

Rich man, actualisation of Biafra does not mean you will lose your properties in Nigeria, you can even remain there if you want, the only thing that changes is the government.
