what about teenage children who get raped by adults even family members and they don't report to anyone because they know Nigerians always tend to blame the victim? such a child may not know about emergency contraceptives or how to get them since the pharmacist won't sell to a child. The point is we have to have a holistic approach which starts from supporting rape victims so they are encouraged to speak up and they can get the proper medical advice on time.

Let's stop beating about the bush looking for excuses. Abortion is only acknowledged when the life of the mother is at risk and when the baby if born will suffer gross congenital malformations and has limited chances of survival.
Practice abstinence or use condom and save yourselves the heartache of abortions.

Gbam, I agree that abortion is wrong but I have noticed that while Nigerians are always quick to say take the child to the Orphanage most of them will never adopt a baby from the Orphanage. So what ends up happening to those children? The Orphanages are generally underfunded and the children are neglected . While we advice people against abortion we should also promote adoption. Plus many of you will the first ones to gossip if a girl you know has a baby and takes the child to the Orphanage, you will still judge the girl and tell all potential suitors later which is why many are not bold enough to have the baby and take the child to the Orphanage.

Abortion is a choice, if the woman thinks she can not deal with a baby, then she should abort it asap, the issue I have is it should be done in the first trimester.

are you sure you read my comment? you really need to improve on your comprehension skills.i said i agree that abortion is wrong my point is as a society we need to encourage adoption, what is the point of dumping all those children at the Orphanages only for them not to be well taken care of because the Orphanages are are overwhelmed. It is hypocritical for you all to be recommending Orphanages when you will never adopt.

In as much as i dont take sides on abortion, its strictly should be a thing of choice, there re many things abortion entails, the doctor is just there to do his job, and not to give a patient a whole lot of lecture on the topic which she would never grasp and besides abortion clinics do not say ''Come back next time''! Cause it has it own risks

Me I am definitely adopting just like many in my family have done and we can promote abstinence all we want but you and I know that most people ( except for religious folks) will still not abstain so what is the next logical step. If people don't care about others then what right do they have to advice the woman on what she should do when you know you don't care about the outcome of her choice? so we should just advice everyone to dump the kids in the Orphanages and then what happens? Many of them will end up even turning into criminals when there is no one to care for them. Just go to some of the Orohanages and you will weep

The girls ain't to be totally blamed, did the girl just get pregnant? Is pregnancy now infectious or transferable? I blame more the guys who allow their manstick to do more of the brain work than use the brain itself. I blame the ladies too for allowing one directionless guy who has got no plans for baby yet take them on cheap bicycle ride. Abortion is a choice, though bad, but some, even if Pope preaches to them, they won't stop until it's achieved. Don't be surprised people shouting this is bad and others had once advised people to go for it, but they would be the first to cast the first innocent stone. Giving birth to the baby is far better as we don't know what the child could become, but this world is so filled with much struggles that the woman who probably once bragged my child won't suffer couldn't even afford to see one coming at this point where poverty is very strife. So, it really depends. They've all got their reasons, but still abstinence or protection is better.

I just learnt a lesson: do not start anything unless you're really ready for it.

The Story: I have a neighbour who's just a casual staff of a certain company in Lagos. This guy dated (Now married ystday) a lady who's an auxiliary nurse. They mingled n she got pregnant which was terminated. Then, the second pops up again n that baby was killed again. Thereafter, a third child was aborted... Now, a forth came up buh she was like No more abortion which means there shld be a 'fast-tracked' marriage.

They just got married and all I cld was pray they have a happy ending coz I see it as an accidental marriage.

May God forgive us all n make us stop killing innocent child because that's an act of terrorism aswel specialised in killing unborn kids

in the western world, killing a pregnant woman, whether one week pregnant or 9 months pregnant is regarded as 2 count murder. Meaning you killed 2 people.

Abortion is no different from a cold murder case. The only justifiable reason is if the baby has an anomaly or has any chromosomal/autosomal defect such as Cri du chat syndrome, Downs syndrome, Turner, Palsy, anencephaly, spinal bifida etc. in these cases, the physician advises to opt for an abortion because anomalies of the foetus. Any other case is no different from premeditated murder.

Receive sense. Of course no one is forcing anyone to keep a baby.

Legally, foetus in the UK and the US is not seen separate of the woman. It has no rights whatsoever. However in the US, if you kill a pregnant human, you are killing one person except if there is a possibility of the foetus of living outside the carrier. For example, if there is forced conception and you killed the mother and the fetus. You will go to jail for killing the foetus unless it was carried out legally or if it is too late under the prescribed medical period for abortion like if you were 8 months pregnant and you abort or try to abort the preganancy, You will definitely go to jail if you go ahead with the abortion grin
