Fool sokoto caliphate was successor to Hausa city states... Idiot Hausa had been trading with Europeans since time immemorial through trans Saharan trade hope you know of that? Lol tell me one independent explorer that testify to greatness of oyo... Tell me one Yoruba city empire that can match Kano in commerce or katsina in knowledge

The europeans were busy exporting them like chickens.

While their slaves were scattered all through hausa states, especially during the time of Muhammad Rumfa.

It is very well known fact that it was the north that influenced Oyo to adopt a cavalry. And their horses were gotten from the North.

Actually, the Songhais victory only lasted a few years on Hausa states as another hausas state, Kebbi chased them out. That's the thing about hausa states, they were hardly United, but we're independently powerful. Now imagine the sokoto caliphate which United the whole hausa states and try comparing it to Oyo. Comparing Oyo to Kano alone is a great insult to Kano, now you're comparing it to something that encompasses, Gobir, Kebbi, Kano, Katsina and more? You my friend and all who support you are dunces

The only reason the Kanem Bornu and Songhai weren't concerned with Oyo and co. Was because they weren't relevant enough.

Hausa states like kano and katsina, excelled in trade and were competing for control of the trans Saharan trade, where was Oyo? Smh

You core northern folks are known to not be very intellectual. .I expected you to not display this proudly.

So you think a power that held many yoruba city-states plus nupeland, Borgu, All gbe-language speaking areas plus the Akyem Akans can be easily downplayed? What did Sokoto hold? HAUSA states that spoke the same language and dominated by one religion. Compare to what Oyo held together - people of different spiritual standards, Culture and language. ..Oyo was mighty enough to influence the language of its vassals ... what language did Sokoto influence? Sokoto infact used a foreign tongue - arabic. . Like a slave's camp or something

Oyo traded with the Songhai and Malians

Now I know youre an idiott. The official language of the sokoto caliphate was hausa, mor.on, even the fulbes spoke hausa. But the script used for writing was a sort of Arabic script called ajami.

If you compare the oyo empire with katsina (a hausa state), maybe we'll debate that, even though you'll lose but the sokoto empire that encompasses all hausas states? lool! please....

you made some pretty stuupid claims in another thread and took flight when reality dunned on you and you couldnt provide any evidence, now you want your a.ss handed to you agian, well it will be my pleasure.

Before oyo there was existence of independent Hausa states who are more advanced economically militarily than oyo individually as many adventurers and explorers attest to... Have you read Leo Africans. Testimony of his visit to Hausa empire songhay and Borno in the 14th century... I repeat there is never a time in history that oyo is more progressive than Hausa city states.. Economically Hausa city is the southern terminal of trans Saharan trade... Militarily you heard of queen Amina of zazzau expeditions.. The Hausa city states had been using cavalry even before the creation of oyo which terrain doesn't support large cavalry because of tsetse fly infection... Hausa developed system of writing before oyo Hausa introduced indigo in the western Sudan even exporting to Timbuktu... Do you know Kano was the first sultanate to have constitution in the early 14th century written by a the great North African scholar almaghili... Why is it there is no any verifiable contact between oyo and all major empire in west Africa... They is no visit of adventures like Leo Africans visit to Hausa city states songhay and Borno up to now Nubia which testifies to greatness of those places.... Tell me one major adventurer that visit the king of oyo jungle and wrote a book just like Leo Africans wrote about Hausa city states and Timbuktu

I know this is where you are going after all,

why Yoruba is always the standard historical measure often remain baffling.

Must Leo Africanus visit means exclusive greatness for Hausa?

I wonder why they will not bring the accounts from those who visited Hausa states and Yoruba states....people like Livingstone, Landers?

If any reference is worth narrating its that of these two who went everywhere and saw everything. Comparing.Hausa and Yoruba on basis of Africanus visit to Hausaland would belike sharing the impression of Beecroft in the coastal lands. It would be one sided.

These illiterates have no appreciation for true comparatives.... OYO is superior to any Fulani state.

In fact thr two, Fulani and Hausa are separate but individually or combined, Oyo is their father...anyday!

Says someone who comes from the most enslaved race in the world. If a dna test shows that 80-85 % of slaves in the US are either Igbo or Yoruba, my guess is yoruba's outnumber Igbos, but where are the Hausas you claimed to sell? Looool! You are a clown! Songhais never took hausa slaves btw, but the hausas states were one of the major exporters of slaves back then, so you and your inferior minions must have suffered, it's nothing to be proud of, but that's just the truth. LMAO,

if Oyo have not fallen at that time, these folks won't have an empire.

Every great civilization always meets their great destruction in the hands of barbarians as would the roman empire and Byzantines.

they needed the craft of crusades, death, carnage and faith to survive.

I don't know what Leo Africanus will say that more recent explorers cannot.

Except the Hausa empire was great as we move back in time and shrinks to the future as time tapes.

If we transpose location and put Yoruba in North and Fulani in South and dial back the hands of time to Imperial Africa, Fulani could not have done in Brazil, Cuba, US, Puerto Rico, Venezuela...and others what Yoruba has achieved there in terms of revolution and implanting of culture.

On the other hand, Yoruba captured in North and sold off as Fulanis and Hausa were sold off to Arabia would have succeeded in supplanting Ifa. Many Arabs today would be worshipping Sango, Ogun and Oya. There is no sea up there so they probably will not accept Olokun....but Obatala would definitely have shrines in Mecca.

There are no virgins waiting for you in heaven. They arr all here on earth.
