The Intrigues of Medical School How exciting it is to be in the medical school, How prestigious is the feeling, How ticklish we feel when people call us "Docae" Just like every other human, Our feelings are enveloped by out coats, Our challenges are swallowed by our daily struggle of becoming the prophesied Medical Doctor. Without being biased in my writing, I wish to say how selfish this profession is, It succeeds in setting your mind on exams like it's the mark of the high calling, It erodes every other thought of yours and replaces it with one "logy" or the other. Monday begins with Osteology, Tuesday continues its tussle with Embryology to battle. Victory finally comes with histology being the next to conquer and Wednesday sweeps in with physiology, The rest of the week is poised with one exertion or the other. With all these it still steals your weekend with the fear of exams and tests, It almost replaces God in your heart, Making you think that medicine is all that pertains to life. It's sad to know that in it's egoistic nature, it still has limitations. I'll rather take medicine as a platform for excellence than see it as the sky I once wished for I'll rather long after the one who lives beyond the skies I'll rather give my all to my confession(Christ) rather than my profession. Because my profession is earthly and my confession is eternal.... #Moses_MD_intraining# AAU300level 24 Likes 2 Shares |

Millex: Millex, you want to apply through DE using first degree (BSc). Nice, but I will also advice you take JAMB. Don't mind the fact that you will start from first year. Atleast, you will be surer. If you took Jamb last year and everything went well, you will be in 100l now. Next year will be 200l (Your DE dream level). Most first degree aspirants don't like taking JAMB. To most, starting from first year seems like 'falling of hands'. They will be proud to say that they got into MBBS through DE and started from 200l. What is the difference between 5years (DE) and 6years(UTME)? Nothing significant I dare to say. These first degree students feel okay to keep applying for MBBS through DE from year to year without any hope in sight. They begin from one school to the rest, year after year. I have some knowledge about applying for MBBS through DE. To be so sure about gaining entrance through DE, go get your A'Level ready. Every other qualification is left to uncertainty. And brother, to be frank, with 2.1 in Zoology you don't stand a good chance. That is not a rule, just an observation. If you will pick a JAMB form, I will suggest UI. That is if you are ready to prepare for the putme and really want to get into med school. Nothing can be more transparent than UI admissions process. This doesn't need further debate. Just a fact. Be courageous bro! Take DE. Take JAMB. Success! Solonzo 4 Likes |

Solonzo nice comment. If u really want to get into mbbs pick ui. Merit quota is more than 92 percent. Transparent to the core 137 were picked on merit out of a total no of 147. That's an advice. E I would advice you to also summon the courage to pick jamb, since you have nothing to lose. It is still all about studying medicine. The funniest thing is that nobody cares if you came through utme or direct entry. What they will ask is "are you studying medicine" Remember the saying "that the end justify the means" 1 Like |

My dear medicos, has any of you ever been in my shoes? I need advice and a little motivation to pull through this.. I just got admitted into Biochemistry in DELSU and I still wanna do Medicine, I want to reapply via UTME because chances of switching are very very slim (almost impossible) here in DELSU. I got admitted quite late into the session, lectures have gone quite far and I'm trying get a sexy CGPA (in case of switching) and a good Jamb score to give me a good chance to achieve my dreams.. Did any of you here get into medicine after being admitted into another course? Advice please.... |
