We commemorate his death without knowing he date or day of his death. This means we need not know his date of birth to celebrate it

Romans 14:5-6 (NKJV)
5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

We actually know his death date..

Its in the Month of Abib on the Jewish calender later called Nisan. On the 14 he had the Passover and introduced his remembrance. On 15 he was killed.

But do you really celebrate his death?
Lol..you didnt even care to know when it is or even give it its own date.
Because it is simply not important to you.

Why Do Some People Not Celebrate Christmas? Around the world, nearly two billion people celebrate Christmas each December 25, while at least 200 million others celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ on January 7. However, there are also millions who choose not to celebrate Christmas at all. Why? For one thing, they may belong to a religion that is not part of Christendom. They may be of the Jewish, Hindu, or Shinto faith, to name a few. Others, such as atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, or secular humanists, view the Christmas story as a myth. Surprisingly, though, a sizable number of people who believe in Jesus reject the Yuletide traditions. Why? They point to at least four reasons. First, they do not believe that Jesus was born in either December or January. The Bible does not give a specific date. It simply states: “There were also in that same country shepherds living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks. And suddenly Jehovah’s angel stood by them, and . . . the angel said to them: ‘. . . There was born to you today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’”— . Facts point to Jesus’ birth at approximately the beginning of October when shepherds with their flocks would still spend the night in the fields. The countryside around Bethlehem experiences the coldest weather during the months of December and January. Hence, to keep them warm at night, flocks are herded into protective shelters. A second reason: The only event Jesus specifically instructed his followers to commemorate was his death, not his birth, and this was to be done as a simple communion meal. ( ) Note, too, that the Gospels of Mark and John are silent about Jesus’ birth. The only event Jesus specifically instructed his followers to commemorate was his death, not his birth A third reason: There is no historical evidence that the early Christians celebrated the birth of the Christ. But they did memorialize his death. ( ) It was not until more than 300 years after Jesus’ birth that Christendom officially began to observe Christmas on December 25. Interestingly, in the mid-17th century, an act of parliament banned Christmas celebrations in England. In the United States, the Massachusetts General Court did the same. Why? The book The Battle for Christmas, says: “There is no biblical or historical reason to place the birth of Jesus on December 25.” It adds that to the Puritans, “Christmas was nothing but a pagan festival covered with a Christian veneer.” That brings us to a fourth reason: The unsavory origin of the celebration itself. The roots of Christmas can be traced back to pagan Rome with its mixture of festivals for honoring the agricultural god Saturn and the sun god Sol Invictus, or Mithra. Anthropologists Christian Rätsch and Claudia Müller- Ebeling, coauthors of the book Pagan Christmas, write: “Like many pre-Christian customs and beliefs, the old feast commemorating the yearly return of the sun was rededicated to the birth of Christ.”

What Does Santa Claus Have to Do With Jesus and His Birth? The custom: In many lands, Santa Claus is viewed as the one who brings children gifts. Children often write to Santa, asking for presents, which, according to tradition, elves help him to make at his North Pole headquarters. Its roots: According to the popular view, the Santa Claus myth owes its origin to Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Asia Minor, now Turkey. “Virtually everything written about St. Nicholas is based on legends,” says The Christmas Encyclopedia. The designation “Santa Claus” may owe its origin to the word Sinterklaas, a corruption of the Dutch terms for “Saint Nicholas.” Historically and Biblically, Santa Claus has nothing in common with Jesus Christ. What the Bible says: “Now that you have put away falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor.” Our closest ‘neighbors’ are our family members. ( ) The Bible also says that we should “love truth,” “speaking the truth in [our] heart.” ( ) True, telling children that Santa (or the Christ child) is the bearer of presents at Christmas may seem to be innocent fun, but is it right or wise to deceive little children, even if one’s intentions are not bad? Do you not find it ironic that an occasion that is supposedly meant to honor Jesus becomes a time to deceive children?

The conclusion of this whole issue is this: If you think celebrating Christmas is wrong because it's not written then any christians celebrating there birthdays are not serious, it's all scam and fraudulent! In short, they should be stoned!

No matter how well we try to make an unbiblical act acceptable, it will never be acceptable. The bible made it clear that ''...all liars shall have their own part in the lake of fire''...REV.21 vs 8, vs 27. The Roman Catholic Church, as part of their creeds and dogmas, maketh a lie, eshrined it as a doctrine, and enforced it on the rest of mankind, as at when Rome was ruling the world. It was a lie that was made to be accepted as truth, but God does not change his standards to suit anyone, or accomodate any practise contrary to His word. God hate lies, and the Roman Catholic Church lied when it said and indoctrinated it's followers and much of the world that, Jesus was born on the 25th of December, when it is not. The bible clearly said that ''shepherds were in the field watching over their flock by night''. You can't be in the field under SNOW watching over flocks in the chilling December. It was a big lie, and, irrespective of whatever it was meant to achieve, justifying the christmas lie, is tantamount to accepting lie as a norm of worship, and therefore, unsinful. But thank God, it can never be. For a lie is a lie. The truth remain truth! Therefore, all those who created this lie, and those that takes pleasure in celebrating this lie, even knowingly, are guilty of the same offence. Romans 1 vs 32.

The only thing Jesus asked us to do in rememberance of him, is the Lord's Super. Luke.22 vs 19, not his birth.

The choice to live the truth or to live the lie, is now yours to make.

Two cannot work together unless they agree...
What we agree here in earth is agreed in heaven...

same way sabbath is now Sunday

If you agree one can be inspired by the holy spirit then your argument is baseless, that I have chosen a day convenient for me to celebrate with my family CANNOT and WILL NOT make me a liar.
You need to be educated, yes 25th Dec was a pagan feast but to help the new converts (christians) then not to go back to their previous way of life, another celebration (Christmas ) was fixed on the same day.
See why God will not judge like humans on that day because he is almighty, sees intentions and the inner most part of the heart.
I will advice you not to celebrate if you don't want to, but to pass judgment on some others calling them LIARS is a no no.

Thank you for the correction.
Have you ever thought about real as opposed to imagined pagan practice of offering food to idols and then eating it in 1 Cor 8?

While it is debatable exactly how 'pagan' Christmas is, this was a clearly pagan practice yet Paul appeals to conscience. This tells me thAt Christmas even if it were to be proved 'pagan' is a far less offensive activity.

So I have always tried to get to the hearts of anti-Christmas brigade....what really motivates them in opposing it?

Probable reasons
1. They are raised in sects that oppose it and for conformity purposes, they oppose it as well regardless of how (un)founded the opposition is
2. They misunderstand the purpose of Christmas, and thus manifest a zeal but not according to knowledge
3. They are proud, self righteous bunch simply out to prove themselves better than the next guy
4. They are rebels without cause. Some will just oppose norm for the heck of it, they will sleep during the day and stay up at night just to be different

While I can't discern the motive for each opponent, I can easily pick sectarian opponents like dolphinheart because for the past 15 years, I have heard Jehovah's Witnesses regurgitating the arguments he is advancing here VERBATIM

Please ask that sect where in the Bible were they asked to marry only themselves? They have so indoctrinate it up to point that is it an oath that any who does it is seen as a sinner

Brother, let us stop being hypocritical here. The bible has made it clear in Rm 14:5-6 when new christian converts among the jews and the gentiles were arguing on what celebration to observe and what not to observe. Some converts that were of jewish origin were still attached to some jewish celebrations like the feast of unleaven bread and so on while those of greek origin or gentiles did not know anything about such celebrations.

Some thought they should not celebrate while some thought maybe they should celebrate something else. The jewish christians among them still held fast to sabath while some of the gentile christians never even practised sabath before because they were not of jewish tradition or origin. They were idolaters before their conversion.

the argumentbof whether to observe some celebrations or discard some celebrations ensued between them. That why paul told them that whether the scripture say you should observe some days or notis not the question.

Hence the Romans 14:5-6
One man regards one day above
another, another regards every day
alike. LET EACH MAN BE FULLY CONVINCED IN HIS OWN MIND . HE WHO OBSERVES THE DAY OBSERVES IT FOR THE LORD , and he who eats, does so for the Lord, FOR HE GIVES THANKS TO GOD ; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and GIVES THANKS TO GOD .

A lot of things we do are not ordered by the bible, but we alow the holy spirit to guide us to know if we are committing sin doing it or not. For example: we build places of whorship today when Jesus did not even build one or order his deciples to do the same. christians in those days were found of whorshipping in brethren house.

We celebrate naming ceremony today. we eat and merry with neighbours and loved ones. does the bible order that kind of celebration? None of the biblical christians did the same.

Celebrating this anniversary and that anniversary in the church. where do christian celebrate whatever anniversary in the bible? And to you all these are not sins. But celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Everybody celebrate the transition unto glory of their aged. please give me an example of a place where funneral ceremony is celebrated in the bible. and to you its worth it. except celebrating the birth of the lord.

Jesus told the desciples that the holy spirit would teach them in many things. in that case Jesus directly or indirectly admit to them that he could not teach them everything they had to know until he would be received into heaven.

While we should be giving God thanks everyday, in churches today, we dedicate a special sunday as thanks giving sunday. please where was that practiced in the bible? But we know what is right and that is unto the glory of god and we do it. but to appreciate the birth of Jesus christ by celebrating it is a sin to you because bible does not say so.

we go to church on sunday. Where is that written in the bible. even that same Romans 14:5-6 has settle the issue of Sabbath worship.

Why do you celebrate new year celebration? is it because the bible tells you to do it or any of the apostles celebrated it?

I can go on and on but I will leave the rest to you to think on so many things you do that bible does not order to do. And that are not sins anyway.

Thank you.

My guy, mind your mouth before you pass judgement as if you were God. Jesus owns January, February,...December. He is the owner of all the days and all the years. Even the Shepherds worshipped God after seeing the born child. The host of the heavenly angels worshipped God when Christ was born. 25th may not be the actual day Christ was born. But for a man that owns all the days, months and years, it won't be inappropriate to pick any day to celebrate his birth. We celebrate our individual birthdays but it becomes sin when the birth of Christ is celebrated. I don't condemn people who do not celebrate the birth of Christ, henceforth, let no man trouble me for celebrating the birth of my Saviour because I bear in me the mark of Christ.
What ever we do, in words and in deed, we do it in the name of Jesus Christ as instructed by the Bible. Lastly, if you find it unholy to celebrate the birth of the Saviour, then shut up and mind your own business. Thank You. (Onos JP)
