Finally arrived Houston on Dec 26 after ma 24hr flight on Delta. All glory to God cos it could have only been him and thanjs to this wonderful NL family. Travelled at 35 weeks armed with plenty documents.
No body asked for fit to fly and me sef hold ma mouth till I was sitting on ma preselected aisle seat. Fast forward to ATL Poe, see people! First enter ladies go freshen up and pray for favour. After abt 1hr pls on the queue and singing of christian songs to
myself, was ushered to the electronic machine. Scanned visa, clicked away to the questions, scanned my fingers and got print out. Enter line to see border control officer. Was praying not to fall writhe stern looking elderly man looking over his glasses but I finally landed in front of him instead of the young dudes
Me: hello
Poe officer: hello mam, why are u in the U.S.
Me: on this particular visit, to have my baby
Officer: I didn't hear a word u just said
Me: I said on this particular visit, I am here to have my baby
Officer; where will u be staying
Me: in Houston Texas. So will be catching a connecting flight
Officer: how long will u be staying n when are u due
Me: due end of Jan 27th or early Feb. That week
Officer: how much do u ave on u
Me: just 3000, but av made deposit with the hospital and have .... in ma acct
Officer: where do u work
Me: I am an accountant with .... (begin to open bag to bring out loads of documentation)
Officer: enjoy it stay
Me; surprised. What next? How long did u stamp me in
Officer; till June mam, u can go pick up ur bags

I was so surprised, no further questions no secondary examination. Sharply used free WiFi to call DH ur prayers have reached here oh.

Will have first doc appointmt soon and ultimate delivery with oakbend. I will update with more success stories

Wow they are so mean!!

isysleek:
Refund with arik? Hmmnn..its best you just manage to fly back with them cos the refund amt will b less than N30k.

I used them when I went to give birth. On my return, wanted to change to Virgin so I asked for a refund. They said since its voluntary, then they will charge for it and also take out taxes. When I asked how much I wil get,it was like N20 somthng and virgin ticket was like N500k. I just closed my eye and flew back with arik o and swore never to fly them again both local and int'l.

Congratulations to you on your pregnancy Apeke. From you post, it looks like this is your first pregnancy, we are all happy for you.

As a matter-of-fact, your case isn't at all peculiar; people have been issued visas they never used on this thread and there is no way that is a crime. If you're applying for a renewal though, you should be prepared to answer why you were given arguably, the most highly coveted visa in the world yet didn't use it.

I don't have answers to your third question but to the first one: I've also read on this thread that you can land on US soil with a valid visa even if your visa would have expired by your planned departure date since you will be stamped in for a stipulated period of up to 6 months. Other people have opined that you should renew before expiration of that visa.

Whatever you do, please remember to inform the embassy the purpose of your travel. It may be a good idea to also seek clarification from them regarding your second inquiry.

Congrats once again

Hello everyone . Good job everyone is doing God bless you all . I have been following this thread since 2013. Now I am married and just discovered I am pregnant . Been reading all pages . But I think my case is a little perculiar . I have had 2 usa visas , used the first one in 2010 while The recent one is meant to expire July 2016 . But unfortunately since last year I applied I haven't had time to use it . My due date is August 2016
1. can I renew before it expires?
2. Is it a crime not to use ur visa ?
3. Please does any one know about any affordable hospitals in Reno, Nevada.? Been searching but haven't found . Please I will be happy to recieve advices

In ma reply from embassy for change of intent , was adviced to hold receipts during "this particular visit" and future visa interviews. So just decided to make some deposit out of the projected cost to the doctor (but total projected cost covers doctor, hospital, pead, labs n prob epidural).

Hello! Everyone in d house.
I need to make an enquiry from the forum:
1. Has anyone recently used West Houston Med Centre?
2. How fast do they prepare birth certificate, and prepare zero balance letter?
3. How is their bill like?
Thanks for anticipated response.

Pls my pple, lets not make the mistake of coming back here on vacation without reciepts n 0 balance. Sm1 i know was alrdy separated for deportation in Houston, though they had given her a very hard time before they even asked for reciepts at all.
They emphasised more on if she told the embassy before having her baby there last year, she was held for 10.5hrs.... , the intimidation no be here. she will give the full low down. God took control n the new shift of cbps let her go at the end, but it was so unfair. She said someone was even bundled away in handcuffs.

With the lil i heard overnight, pple that had it pretty smooth in houston Poe should thank God, they dont like the idea at all. Her crime was holding green n blue passport together.

Pls lets try to be honest, esp now that its made easy. When i was having my 1st child about 6yrs ago, i didnt think admitting was even an option at all, but a lot has changed n i have peace of mind that i admitted on this 3rd missionary journey. Pls lets do the needful. God is with us.

my hubby's second us visa wasn't used(we weren't married then) He didn't av d time to travel. And he did drop box and was given a visa.
1. Yes u can renew it before it expires. (That's what my hubby usually do.. More like a habit)
2. From my above comment, u can see it's not a crime not to use ur visa.

Hi. Renew via drop box in 2016. if you are due in August, then it means you should be travelling some time June-ish. So you should plan to renew well in advance. Fill a ds160 form for a B2 visa and make sure you have all your doctor and hospital correspondence and all other documents just incase you get called for an interview.
However, you can opt not to renew your visa and send a letter of intent via email to the embassy before you travel and hope to be stamped in for 6 months on arrival at poe.

Hey you.

I doubt, it's not as easy and straight forward to get one, kinda like getting a loan.

If it's secured by your salary you will need to move your Salary acc to the said bank, get hr to sign forms, etc.

that's why there are few in circulation compared to debit cards
