You are correct. They are generally very peaceful so the journalist is very correct. Those screaming 'insults' either have no sense of humour or have inferiority complex.

They see like an act of cowardice of which they are totally wrong.

It isn't cowardice. Yoruba people are just more generally laid back than most people from other ethnic groups
I wouldn't put it as laid back more like we like sitting back, relax and observe things and when an opportunity opens we strike

Cowardice is a relative term. Most ethnics in africa also fought intra-tribal wars. No big deal.
The fact that they fought themselves does not mean they have the courage to go to war with another major ethnic. grin

Which tribe will they not have the courage to go to war with?

How you respond in the face of aggression or attacks be it violence or civil disbodience is the criteria. Cowards perpetually hide under d toga dialogue and diplomacy even when they are redundant.

You are a cretinous fuuktard.

So your moronic arsse see it as cowardice to have a dialogue and use diplomacy to resolve issues.

You are a professionally-born cretinous fuuktard!

What failed schools produced your daft arsse?

But u igbos are funny. You spend so much time researching yoruba history, trade, commerce & wars. Nobody else knows about yours except that u were bush people & then slaves. Oh and then biafra. smh.

And to d confused soul who talked about ilorin being taken over by the fulani. If the fulanis had taken over yorubaland, why didnt they takeover their business, lands and fishing routes. The fulanis were very very business minded u know and before the fights, d yorubas and hausa/fulanis were involved in a lot of trade. Ilorin did not fall by anybodys sword, it was sold out by a treacherous man, who wanted his kings throne. Why didnt they takeover any other throne, like in the ancient towns of illa and oyan which is very very close to ilorin & plant emirs everywhere.

I went digging to get some history on igbo people. This is what i found abt them when they were discovered by the oyinbo man:

- They were isolated.
- They were more numerous dn d tribes around them but they were forest people. Dts why they only occupy dt small parch of land.
- They had mainly elders.
- Some of them like onitsha & arochukwu had kings.
- They were sold as slaves by the calabar people.
- They were successfully completely brainwashed and lost their culture. Case in point, their real traditional dressing & tribal marks circa 20th century is attached.

You can feel free to add any other great thing we dont know about the great igbo culture. Its good we all learn about this greatness.

"the Yoruba are not inclined to die in the name of either Christ or Mohammed" EVEN SANGO!

That's why we see them as untrustworthy.

They always sit on the fense, they are neither here nor there.

Since they don't want to die for what they believe, its either it is due to cowardice

Or they stand for nothing.

Dude, the diction and phrasing by the journalist is masterpiece, elite in any class.

I don't endorse tribal bashings of any sort but what is written is a veiled diatribe, euphemized by clever placing of words to soften the verbal blows. I call it social diplomatic bashing.

If nairaland installed an active anti spam bolt for auto deletion of insults, that bashing will pass undetected.

What is this one saying? People like you always think someone is insulting you. He is clearly stating things as he has seen and observed them, something Nigeians are alien to given their over use of euphemism and metaphor.

You appear to have a warped sense of self-importance.

I have been reading your serial abuses of the anonymity of the social media to cast gratuitous aspersions on anything Igbo.

What is even deplorable is your claim of some kind of quasi Igbo identity via an Igbo sounding name.

The Igbos will not continue to allow some people to take a semblance of a millstone contributing nothing other than working against the collective aspirations of the Igbo nation.

Nnamdi Kanu's diatribe and indiscretions have been condemned by most Nigerians, the Igbos inclusive. However, what is swept under the carpet are the subsisting issues that keep precipitating the likes of Kanu.

Granted that Kanu probably overreached himself, but are the socio-political issues being raised by him without merit? So the media blitz and propaganda to deflect attention from the germaine issues?

And what is exactly are you trying to achieve by drawing parallels between Kanu's utterances and sanguine reprisals from the rest of Nigeria?

Don't you think that your rash and impulsive views could be giving vent to those who have made a culture of the destruction of Igbo lives and properties even with little or no provocation?

When did the sundry combustible utterances being made by elements from the northern and virtually the rest of the country led to the threat of extermination of their kith and kin outside their homelands? Are the Igbos supposed to be living in this country as a second class citizens incapable of enjoying the inalienable rights enshrined in the laws of the land for fear of not offending tin gods or some sections of the country?

You tell me: are the Igbos supposed to remain subservient to mistreatment because other Igbos living outside Igboland would become cannon fodder to some undesirable elements at the slightest hint?

I suggest that you people should get a handle on the many shallow and ill-thought out comments you are wont to make on sensitive issues.

You are a daft cretinous fuuktard!

You claimed there is institutional marginalisation against Igbos. And when your daft arsse was ask to give us examples of these, your moronic self could not?

Now you are trying to change it from "institutional marginalisation" to "germaine issues"?

Fuuktard, please tell us how Igbos live as "a second class citizens incapable of enjoying the inalienable rights enshrined in law".

Yes, you are right, but I also choose when to be humorous and when to be sober.

I choose to laugh. The time for sober reflections is not yet here.
Laughter/humour and even hilarity are good and desirable.

However, it is indiscreet to allow the thrills and the fun of laughter to go beyond a certain level such that when sobriety comes it would be accompanied by regret and disillusionment, or what do you think?

... Nice comments. I have been observing her bigotry, diatribe and subtle hate comments on this forum. The topic is not about Ndigbo or Biafra or Nnamdi Kanu but just to satisfy her innate and ordinate ambition to ridicule Ndigbo she has to subtly introduced Biafra and nnamdi Kanu on this topic.

Ishilove, embrace this new year and make suggestions and comments that will uplift and encourage nigerians to cohabit peacefully. Kindly shun bigotry, hate and 'online arrogance'. Thank you.
