I don't know about other schools but in my 5 year BTech program in Math & Computer Science I found that by the end of 200L we'd just about completed everything in Advanced Engineering Math by KS Stroud. I know this because I had both eng math and advanced eng math.

Let me put an end to this;Physics students actually will do better,they just dont brag. Most of those topics you guys have been mentioning were actually developed by physicists;from calculus(Newton),to ode(euler)..so on.so they win in this case. To all those elect/elect,and mech eng feeling superior,do you know that every form of your course is actually a renamed physics course,from thermodynamics to digital electronics,to engines,to vacuum techniques to tunneling,electricity and magnetism,communications and so on. Physics students are taught 'Quantum electronics':the future of electronics,which unfortunately,their engine counterparts lack. If the sch exceed such number,it will have NUC to contend with. Even our VC those days attested to the fact. He even apologised!!!

engineering Maths is a discipline on it own, a good engineer must no how to calculate, mathematician are learnin from engineers bcus they must checked engineering maths for miscallineos illustration & solution,but nigeria Engineers are poor in mathematics,not all o,.

Well, firstly engineers are not all bothered about the derivation of formulas, but jes d application of formula to solve engineering & practical problems so I respect the mathematicians.

However, most guys I have seen studying mathematics wanted to study engineering but were not all lucky making engineers feel superior.

this is for only university abi..not polytechnic,logarithm, indices and vector r done only during 1st semester ND1....calculus and others aspectt of maths start in 2nd semester 100level

I was having issues with a particular topic in mathematics I actually went to math department to see a friend to help put me tru while there another friend 400l computer engineering came and like na this one you cross from ur department dey come mth for no worry I go teach you na 300L engineering maths una even dey do for final year although embarrassed I gave him one question from a past question to solve before we can start my tutorial he spent up to 4hours trying to fix the question but couldn't
he ended telling me that the topic was different from the one they did but with the same name

It is not true that engineering students know maths more than mathematics students. Have been opportune to supervise maths exams with mathematics/Engineering students, it was surprising that d engineering students didn't do better than d mathematics students, Infact some of them were copying from the maths students. There r good guys in Engineering and good guys in mathematics dept also. So engineering students should not claim superiority that they know maths more than mathematics students.

I don't still agree with u. The previous year,I made 256 in jamb while some one I knew made 214. She got admission while I still stayed another year at home all because I wasn't financially bouyant enough to "runs" admission at that time. Sometimes it isn't about qualification. It is who u know and your pocket!!!
