Reverend Mpho Tutu, daughter of South African social rights activist, retired Archbishop Desmond Tutu got married to her lesbian partner, Professor Marceline Furth in a private ceremony in the Netherlands on Wednesday December 30th, 2015. Mpho, a mother-of-two, is an ordained Episcopal priest. She was previously married to Joseph Burris, with whom she had her 2 children.



The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation confirmed that she married her partner in a small civil ceremony. This is both Tutu and Furth’s second marriage.


In a statement, the foundation says the couple will have a wedding ceremony in Cape Town in May this year. Furth is a professor in paediatric infectious diseases at the Vrije University in Amsterdam.

It is not a case for the government alone but this struggle is for everybody. We have to alert homos that their acquired sexual preference is not in line with the society that they belong. In fact, they have no choice but to change to default straight orientation. Government need to build medical facilities to treat these homos of their man made sexual deformity. Prison facilities should also have these facilities. There is need to strengthen laws against pedophiles. Schools that run boarding facilities must make it a duty to ensure that non of their student "try" any homosexual stuff. They must orientate the students on the dangers of it on our society. Most importantly, families have the responsibility to bring their children and ward in a sane manner.

Your submission that homosexuality is acquired is totally wrong and is unacceptable under any democratic system - You can't ascertain that it is acquired , I understand that we all frown at it and as typical traditional African I frown at it because it's a change from the normal societal value we all know but this is what it is now and we need to accept reality before reality will catch up with us .Just like some folks will frown at MouthAction and anal sex but to some people it's their sexual fulfillment.
Once again , you can put all that measure you just mentioned in place yet man in his dynamic nature will defy logic according to your own understanding and go after his heart desire for fulfillment.
We should stop discriminating and criminalizing gayism instead we should only make laws that will protect the right of others from being abused by gays. Because I would be mad if any man makes any advances at me because he feels he can say to me whatever he wants about his sexual preferences.

The truth is that no society practice absolute freedom. Every society is regulates even in the "almighty" America. Freedom is never absolute. Any society without regulation is setting the ground for anarchy. Societies are regulated based on norms and values of the inhabitants. This is why Sharia is dominant in muslim States. This is why Polygamy is criminalised in the USA but accepted in Nigeria. This is why it is criminal for a 20yr old to date/marry a 16yr old in the USA but in Saudi Arabia, it is allowed for a 50yrs old to marry a 15yrs old. Nigeria and Africa have societal values upon which our society is regulated. According to our own values, homosexuality is alien and a taboo. Hence, it is criminalised. There is no ambiguity here.

In States like Saudi, a man and a woman cannot be in private room except they are married, but in Nigeria that's not so. It all boil down to values of the society. Hence, homosexuality can't be allowed here.
