I have no maintenance fee charged, the bank officer told me that I'll not be charged the monthly fee of 12$ if i meet one of the requirements stated in their website such as **Have at least one qualifying direct deposit of $250 or more***Maintain an average daily balance of $1,500 or more OR When you are a Bank of America Preferred Rewards client (waiver applies to first 4 checking and savings accounts) Mine is Personal Core Checking account and been using it without any charges. I even have my BoA internet banking which I can transfer anytime without visiting the bank.

Sis, we are saying the same thing. I was once in your shoes saying the same thing. I've had the account for almost a year now.
All the best.

Just seeing this. Your best bet is to pay with money order cos the card thing is loooong (you Have to register the card with them by submitting all sorts).
When you get to the payment section, select money order and you'll see more options.

And Soulcare woman? God bless her for me, even thogh I'm alone in America with no friend and family, they filled d vacum well. She stayed with me all tru my CS, my 1st thought was to run out of the hospital and board d next plane back to Nigeria wt my pregnancy, but she stayed and held my hand tru the c section, her whole family stayed truout d day helping wt my grief, hers is more than a concierge, it's a calling.

To my roommate, you know yourself, I say Thank you.

To God, I bless ur name, cos you have already given me the fortitude to bear the loss, even though I waited 3 years for this journey. I thank
you for defending my own life, and for all.

To my husband, God be praised, I appreciate you more.
Oh dear! I honestly do not have words to say how I feel. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May the lord comfort you and bless you.

I'm shocked at other people's experience cry
Makes me sad sef. Those that experienced it badly with her I'm sorry on her behalf.

I didn't share my experience on this thread.
But Dr E tried for me. God used her to save my life

Lemme summarize it
Baby passed meconium inside
He presented with cord round his neck
He had shoulder dystosia
My placenta refused to detach
When it finally did, it ruptured.

I bled and bled... Was turning white on the table
My hubby was praying
She and the nurses were.

I'm sure u guys will say only me? Yes o only me... God fought my battle for me. And used that wonderful woman and that sweet sweet nurse

Hmmmm
Dr's in d house will understand better
But that day Hmmmm lemme just stop there.

I was transfused
Hubby said I received 4pints in total

Anywhere I hear Dr E my body just dey sweet me.
I will defend her anywhere.

Even Houston, Texas hasn't been scratched because sisters and bros are not willing to research. I only hear a few stretched doctors for Oakbend and WHMC.

E-Friends,

1. If you have access to Nairaland then luckily, you have access to Google. Quietly visit the websites of WHMC, Oakbend, HNMC etc that people have told us their Hospital fees are pretty straightforward and pocket friendly.

2. Go to the Hospital Website, Select or Search for OBGYNs that are affiliated to that hospital
3. Get the phone numbers of their practice. Honestly, you won't spend 3000 naira on phone cards before you have one, two, three doctors that are ready to send you correspondence via mail, appointment via mail and detailed breakdown of the Obgyn fees and other birth related fees.

In my case,
Appointment 1 - over the phone, then told the lady i spoke with to send an appointment confirmation through email. They were also willing to confirm all the estimates in the mail

Appointment 2 - I was told to log in to their patient portal and register. I did and the confirmation was sent to my mail.

Both were presented at POE to show the billing estimates I heard. In actual fact both Drs haven't been mentioned on this thread and the prices are within the popular range we see on this thread.

Caveat - please don't bother to send PMs as i am not good at replying them because of my busy schedule.

These ladies took out time and posted poe , birthing stories and costs. Some posted even the day after delivery. So that people with similar dreams could benefit. I call that sacrifice.
Now you want them to come and post AGAIN because you have refused to garner the free information floating everywhere. Why? Why would they suffer to achieve their dreams and still achieve your owwn dreams for you? These are nursing mothers with husbands and jobs .
You are still awake o! Youu never start to dream.

You should ask the bank officer to define what a qualifying direct deposit is, cos I don't think a cash deposit is part of it. I always get charged the $12/month whenever my ave daily bal is less than 1500 even when I deposit more than $250 in that month.

@twingirls..., May God comfort you and replenish what you have lost. Like some1 said, the calabash is still intact and will certainly hold water again.. People have shared sad stories b4 on this forum but today their tears have been turned to joy/praise - Your own testimony is just round the corner in IJN... God bless the soulcare woman also, from people's description she is just an angel in human form.

@kkbaby Your story is touching too, Go ahead and apply for the extension like every1 has said. I'm sure it will be approved as you are the primary caregiver of the baby. My prayer for you is that you'll not need the extension as God would have performed His wonders on your daughter before your initial stay expires IJN.. Keep the faith, don't despair. God just wants to show his wondrous works

Are you talking about chicago? Friendly Keh? At this time of the year? You are probably hitting -39 degrees and I'm not even playing. Lived there 2years, horrible horrible winter they have up there. Plus the wind na die. Meanwhile has anyone tried advocate trinity hospital on the south side of Chicago? It's on the south side quite alright (not a fancy area ) but the hospital is well equipped, really good and they service the poor communities so I assume they are affordable. I won't advice you live on the south side (cos it's not safe) but You can live in the south suburbs and commute to the hospital when you need to, just 20mins away. I'm not birthing in Chicago cos I have no relative there but for those who are interested in chicago, I just thought to offer my 2cents in your dollar. Hugs and kisses
