Not necessarily, you guys should stop making it a condition that a man should marry a girl that has a job. I am not saying that it is wrong for girls to work, infact, I encourage them to do so but I don't see why I cannot marry a good girl I love just because she has no job.

The question now is can this good girl you love agree to marry you without a job or with one that pays something below that of the OP?

Based on wat I have seen in this hard Naija.

1. Make sure ur woman has a job.

2. Make sure u have at least 1million after wedding expenses.

3. Continue saving or increasing ur income.

Hello,

Am Kelvin, am based in Abeokuta, Ogun state where I work with a Firm that pays me N50,000 monthly after tax and pension. I try as much as possible to engage in other online businesses that do not affect my office work and i make close to N50,000 monthly as well. Though this varies.

I notice that most times, I am only able to save 40-50K monthly despite being in a low cost City like Abeokuta. But at least i save often.

Am close to 30 and contemplating marriage and I dont know if my income will be enough to sustain myself, wife and maybe kids as they come in. Or it will be advisable to leave the job and seek a better/high paying job

I will like to get your candid opinions

Thank You

Tell me about the online biz.
You are doing well with your savings, just that when you get married, your savings might reduce to 10-20k monthly and if you have a car, some months sef, you won't be able to save

To a Nigerian girl? Probably no

Says who?

Of course you can go ahead!

I married my hubby when he was living in a room & parlour self con. Three other relatives joined us in that small apartment. More so, I resigned from my job in order to marry him since we both work in d same place.

Fast forward to 2016 ...blessed with 5 kids, built a block of 6 flats in Lagos and moving on.

Don't limit yourself, please make a move. Jah bless

Write out a list of items or activities that consume or you spend your income on and strike out those you can do without.

what really matters is don't live above your income when you get married. the main problem why people fail is because they live the life of champaign when actually their income is that of satzenbrau and if your type of work promotes employee every three years like government job then i will advise you to get married.

How can a man who has no job or small business get married How will he take care of his family? Things are not done that way.

You must not be earning six or seven digit income from your job or business before you get married. Any woman who is not ready to manage with you with the little you have now is not worthy of you.

Leave her alone and move on.

Prudency, good management and planing is the key to success in everything in life. The reason why a manager may not be able to build a house but a jounior staff will.

That's an average of 70k monthly? I mean plus your side hustle? Yes, you can get married with that amount. Just make sure to plan a not so big wedding. What is important is your life after the wedding day, which I am sure you would do great with your wife and future kids with a monthly income of 70-80k, in a city like Abeokuta.

I don't know why people especially in the African society think they are compelled to marry or have children. It's only lower primates that act on impulse, humans should be more advance in thought process than taking decisions on instincts or emotions. Getting married or having children are not based on age factor, they are purely social and biological factors.
Ask yourself, what benefit will increasing your responsibility by 1 factor bring to you at this stage? Don't count sex and food because that you can get without incurring the extra responsibility.
Choosing mates and procreation are not achievements because even a goat can do that, accomplishing your objectives and goals will differentiate you from the goat.
