@favoredgal, those Newyorkers are just greedy jare. Like @modath, some people will just be kind & give you small hot water. After all I didn't take coffee nor creamer nor sugar nor use their cup or paper towel, so if they wanna sell just d water to a preggy mum with a baby, dem for sell am for $0.50c...lol...Guess in NY city, it's all about d benjamins.

For Oakbend hopefuls who already have an invoice with d old price, I guess you should contact your Dr & request the old price to be honored. Maybe they can work something out for you with the hospital. Just my thot tho. And like others said, the search for cheaper hospitals have begun!

Canada, good idea. And watch how traffic will shift to Canada if you update the house. And I guess medical care is cheaper there.

Ozycy, Chicago has many downsides that's why
High sales tax rate, housing is very expensive
POE and POExit unpleasant as they are not comfortable with birth tourism and winter there is not for the faint hearted not to think of the high crime rate
Texas seem to be a better place for birth tourism that's why most people go there

Kikikikiki @ winter is not for the faint hearted

And for Oakbend patients, hospital bill has just been increased from $2300 to $3200.Went for my Dr's visit today & wanted to pay for my cousin when I was informed. The price increase don't affect patients who were given d old rate & have pd. These guys don't know how every $$ means a lot to all Naija mamas. May God help us.[/quote]

Regarding paying a lot for water, I stopped by a coffee shop and begged for a lil hot water to make my toddlers cereal & I was told I had to pay even as i mentioned it's for a baby. Sadly d water I had in her flask had gone cold so i had no choice but to pay $3 for a few drops of hot water. I felt pained! But hey, dis is America!

You maybe right, you know, i delivered 4.30am on the 12th and got discharged 1pm on the 14th, i believe. Do you think that counts as 3 calendar days for NICU?

favoredgal:

wait, what day did you give birth and what day did you leave.

i suspect u spent 3 calender days even though it was within 48 hours

for example you gave birth 11pm on a wed night and got discharged 7a on friday - less than 48 hours for oakben but NICS will count it as three days (wed, thursday and Friday)
