Hello fellow preggies,
Pls am new to the forum I need your help pls for Houston doctors or oakbend doctors that take wire transfers from Nigeria or is it only in El Paso? I would like dr Ezekiel email pls pm am at fbofoma@yahoo.co.uk.
This dollar issue is real pls currently what banks are giving PTA or using form a? Heard of Stanbic bit not sure if they are still giving now.
Pls pls help me out . Oakbend mamas houston mamas pls reply about the wire transfers thingy and Dr Ezekiel email addy.

God bless us all .
Cheers,
Amanda

Stanbic is giving PTA at the moment. You need to have applied at least 2 weeks in advance. They will always tell you no cash but you need to be persistent.

They are giving based on travel dates, so if you are travelling today or tomorrow, they will attend to you. I'm travelling on Sunday so I was treated like someone travelling tomorrow since they won't be open over the weekend. Ask to speak to either Femi or Kemi. Even if they ask you to go, just wait there. You will get.

Best of luck.

Seconded! You are no longer a first time mum. Change name quickly.

So i am filled with joy.

Went for us visa interview at Lagos embassy on the 2nd of feb with my family (hubby and 2kids) and to our disappointment...we were denied under section 214b.
Then a friend told me i could re apply alone on medical grounds, so i decided to give it a try.
Booked appointment and the earliest date gotten was yesterday, 2nd march..
Before then, i had stumbled on this thread and gathered all the information i could which really helped a big deal.

Got interviewed at cubicle 9 and without much hassle...
i was granted the visa.

Gods favour was with me.

Thanks to you all that helped in one way or the other.

Good morning NLanders,
Just to say a big thank you to Phema, LadyGuinvere and Sir Justwise for their assistance thus far and to God most especially for Favourrrrr.
went for my visa yesterday and was granted.
It was a re-application. was rejected sometimes in Feb.
Transcript went thus
- Why do you want to go to the US
Ans - To deliver my baby
- Where in the US
Ans- Houston Texas
-Why Houston
ans- Cos i have family there and they can assist in taking care of the baby whilst am there
- Have you contacted a Doc and your financials
Ans- Yes and presented the doctors correspondence, Hospital, budget sheet( courtesy Phema) and the statements she looked at them and didnt say anything, started typing. Na so my prayers start for my mind ( lol) she just flipped thru the documents.
-when are you due
Ans- precise due date
-When do you plan to travel
Ans- Precise date of travel and reason been that i need to arrive before my 35 weeks appointment with the doctor
- Where do you work
Ans- XXXXX and explained what i do on my desk
- Where does your husband work
Ans- XXXXXX as XXXXX ( tried to give her our letter of introduction, she declined
-Is this your first child
Ans- No I have a daughter she isn't travelling with me because it was stressful managing her at the first interview not to mention when we both travel alone and so i decided she should stay with her Dad and his mum will come manage her whilst am away (thanks to LadyGuinivere who suggested reapplying alone)
Your visa has been granted. Na so i no hear anything she talk again.

Thank God for success.

You maybe right, you know, i delivered 4.30am on the 12th and got discharged 1pm on the 14th, i believe. Do you think that counts as 3 calendar days for NICU?

Yup the 12th,13th and 14th

That's how they calculate theirs

Regarding paying a lot for water, I stopped by a coffee shop and begged for a lil hot water to make my toddlers cereal & I was told I had to pay even as i mentioned it's for a baby. Sadly d water I had in her flask had gone cold so i had no choice but to pay $3 for a few drops of hot water. I felt pained! But hey, dis is America!

And for Oakbend patients, hospital bill has just been increased from $2300 to $3200.Went for my Dr's visit today & wanted to pay for my cousin when I was informed. The price increase don't affect patients who were given d old rate & have pd. These guys don't know how every $$ means a lot to all Naija mamas. May God help us.

This happened before when MIHS increased is prices and everybody flocked to El Paso. This will affect a lot of doctors in Houston (Doctors F, E, etc.) that provide their services at Oakbend.

It helps El Paso that the cost of living (accommodation, groceries, transportation) is lowest too.

Please someone should please help me out on this information i am hearing about oakbend. i contacted Dr Fagbohun 2 weeks ago and he gave me hospital bill of 2300. Now i am seeing it has been increased. Please how can i confirm this from him or what can i do? I am so confused. Any other hospital in Texas? pls help me i beg. thanks.

Dr. F did not increase his prices, the hospital did, which means all the doctors patients that are having their babies at Oakbend will pay more. He may have given you the price quote from the hospital, but if you did not pay it, he cannot force the hospital to honor the previous price. If you are enrolled (have already paid your hospital package) the old price quote will be honored. Since Oakbend did not accept bank wire transfers before the increase, its probable that the only patients that are included are the ones that had already arrived in Houston and had paid. Best of luck.

Hello dear, I flew Emirates when I went to avv my son. Pls 36weeks doesn't mean 36weeks on d dot. It's like 35weeks +. Anything from 36weeks u av to submit a medical report/fit to fly 48hrs to ur departure date so they can clear u.

Also print the fit to fly form from their website and give to ur doctor to fill. Then also get ur doctor to get u d hospital fit to fly. Attach both together and make photocopies (like 4). Pls make sure d one from d hospital has d hospital stamp because in naija they didn't care about it but in Dubai they held me for few minutes cos of d stamp. I was lucky I didn't submit d original in naija so I showed them d original, they saw d stamp/seal and allowed me to board. Pls do not submit original but photocopies even in dubai too

Cheers

Do doctors provide services affiliation in more than one hospital? I don't think so o...
I think if you are changing hosp, then your doc must change.....I stand to be corrected though
