Mobil went up 11% today. This is the first time I will see a stock beat the positive 10% mark. Has the rules change?

No the rule is not changed yet. The absolute money change (N11.05) is different from percentage change (6.91%) . The calculation is ok

On the other hand, any banking stock that declares a positive result in the midst of all the profit warnings will be soaring high.

The profit warning from Diamond Bank is expected. The bank had been in a deep mess since last year when one of the top executive went into politics in order to become the governor lol. Anyway, their Q3 result should say much when it comes to expectations of 2015 audited results by shareholders'. It is very sad that many of these companies are taken shareholders' for a ride and no one is calling them into order. Let's see what they are up to this time. To everyone interested in banking stocks, look for the banks who had and can weather the storm irrespective of the goings. Better days are ahead of US (everyone). Have a blessed weekend everyone. And don't forget to take your happiness as your major priority

Sir Born, i can attest to the fact that some companies delay a good results when a very top official want to accumulate many or millions of units at a particular price and the result will be published when the set objectives are meant. Forget the defatigable excuses given out, this happened all over the world . Just stick to what works best for you and make money lol

Forget the defatigable excuses given out, this happened all over the world . Just stick to what works best for you and make money lol

Oga myjoy, can you mention 3 companies that released good result after delaying result for several weeks or months while their pairs have released result?

Why should the profit warnings issued by FBNH and Diamond come as a surprise to anybody who has seen the Q3 results of these 2 banks. It was obvious! Diamond PAT was already 20% down as at Q3. No biggie here.

Diamond bank has already lost 33.9% YTD...its 52 weeks low is 1.33...

like I said before if you have bought at any price above the 52 weeks low, you might have to wait to buy more..

I don't think it will fall below 1.35... but then what do I know?

I like the way diamond bank warning came. They said lower than last years own, not materially low. They also used the opportunity to do damage control. Its better that the yards /materials.

I stopped trading diamond long ago cos they are tight fisted. I've said it b4. Check fidelity history in div payment , then check diamond.

And not only did they decide to release the statement on a Friday, they made sure the market closed before releasing the statement...calculated- they obviously have the interest of their shareholders at heart.

Imagine they had released the news on a Monday...

The form is used to process your signature to the registrars. That or Banker's confirmation are the only way your signature would be accepted.

It's even high time SEC phase out this mundane process.

Na so my brother... I no be sentimental investor... When I see danger, I waka commot..Next week will determine zenith bank fate....If the MD like, make him hide result under his bed, I no send..I will still make my cash.

Go to the market and buy...when I shouted people should buy where were you... I am enjoying the stock now as it has given me 130% return on my investment.. I am long on it for now till when I feel okay to fling it..
