I still trying to understand why some people despise Arikair. I have flew arikair more than five time and the mess up I experienced that was their fault was an hour delay in Lagos but the pilot still made it and we arrived just 15mins later than the expected time and the second delay was when a very old mama went unconscious as we were about to depart for Lagos and she was evacuated. This caused delay but I cannot attribute this to arik fault.

I have flew some other airlines but my preference for arik is intact and I don't see it changed as long as their service is not worse than this occasional mess which most time is not entirely their fault.

Buy Naija; grow Naija; fly arik

NB: I don't work with arik nor have a family that work there.

@cmeo there are so many factors that people consider when making flight choices. What I could consider negligible could just be your own personal nightmare.
Take for instance, I hate flying. And cos of that I need in flight entertainment to keep me distracted. I also like the stop overs. Crazy right? And quite frankly the standard of prefessionalism between arik staff and say Emirates staff is incomparable. That's just a few.
Will I now let go of my personal quirks just to fly a home grown flight? Nope. That's the essence of competetion. If u say fly arik because they are good, yes not because they are Nigerian. That's the starting point of mediocrity. They should up their game mbok.
Me no de fly arik even if dem wan sell ticket for 150k

You don't patronise an organisation or service providers because they are from your home country but because they good or better than their competitors. People want value for money and not value for patriotism.

Good morning!
I haven't had time to visit and read all the way back to the last time I posted on this thread. I finally finished catching up last night.
While reading, I saw two questions directed at me. One asked for my email address, and the other asked if I filled and submitted different forms for my family of 5.
I don't know if there's still any need to reply since they were asked a long while ago, but i'll just go ahead and answer anyway.

To the person who asked for my email address, I'm sorry I can't post it here. You should ask your question here so that you would get different experienced opinions.

To the person who asked how I filled the forms, I filled 5 different forms, one for each member of my family. It took me 5 days to fill because I needed to be very meticulous and make no mistakes, so I kept filling and saving them. I eventually submitted them all at the same time and booked one appointment date.

This is not about your bank statement, bank balance or IV, the decision on whether to issue you a visa or not will come from interview questions and your answer to those questions. If they need any document you will be asked to bring it later.

Yes there is no need booking for hotel accommodation until the visa is issued to you,

Thanks guys...a friend of mine just cracked me now, he said " he would rather fly emirates cos even if the plane crashes and he dies, his family is sure to receive his benefits".

Anyways, na safety matter pass. Wishing all of us safe trip always.

I'm sorry Brov, but if I was the C.O I would have flatly denied you- your motive of visiting the US as a family man totally disqualifies you at this time.
Next time, choose a motive that suits your profile.

You have to understand that your ties is assessed by your circumstances as a whole. If one tells u for egs that 8000k is sufficent and you go to borrow and keep that amount in your account, is that a TRUE representation of your circumstance? No.
So the vo adjudges you on everything about you. That is why statements are RARELY looked at.
As for I'd and iv, you can decide to carry it if it gives you confidence. That does not contribute to your ties.

Try to understand one thing American's don't joke with Family... Now here you are trying to tell a CO that your wife is always busy and you are going to meet some old time friend who is a chic and it's a solo vacation for you...
Hahaha I can't even complete my laughter even if you earned 2Million a month, if you met a moral CO who values family your application would be turned down due to your reason for visiting the US ... It seems like a casual fling, a waste of funds which shouldn't be the priority of a man with your profile... Don't you get it?

Even if you're accompanied to the consulate with your oyinbo in-law, her status as citizen won't influence the decision of the visa officer.

So forget about the "affidavit of support and other documents she sent to the consulate. It won't work.

(i) You do not need a copy of her passport.
(ii)You do not need any affidavit of support.
(iii)The invitation letter is inconsequential.
(iv)You can apply at any time when you've pencilled down and critically analysed your strong ties to your home country.
(v)You do not need any document from her to attend the interview, all you need to get the visa is convince the visa officer that you will return back to your family and job at the end of your visit.

And why can't your brother invite you? Why must it be your in-law? Don't tell us he's been living in the US illegally for 20years.

To avoid a visa denial. You must convince the visa officer of the following.

That you're travelling for a legitimate purpose permitted by the visa category you wish to apply for.

That your financial situation is such that you can afford the trip without having to seek unauthorised employment in the house US.

I'll advise that you work on your strong ties, as the law places a burden of proof on you to prove that you have strong ties in your country that will compel you to leave the US at the end of your temporary stay. Actually, there is no standard definition for ‘Strong Ties.’ What constitutes strong ties will differ from country to country, city to city, and individual to individual. "Ties" are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your country of residence: your family and social relationships, employment, and possessions. Some examples of ‘ties’ can be family, a job or business, a house, a bank account, and investments. Each person's situation is different.

Consular officers are trained and are ware of this diversity. During the visa interview they consider professional, social, cultural and other factors each person presents.

As part of your strong ties, follow this thread like your life depends on it. Make sure you open it daily. It works like magic.

That's cool but is the infant below 2? You know kids under 2 fly free and mine is above 2. Another reason i might be having price issue is i'm going to Colombus. I need to land in a major airport in the US, maybe New York or Chicago and fly to Colombus and the price is also included.
