Congrats Dunnygee, and have a beautiful time.

I'm an ATL mama too, but you're about a month ahead of me.
Hoping my POE process will be as easy peasy as yours

@biollar1 @Mrsbw please is there any particular information that is to be contained in the letter from the specialist hospital in Nigeria to be taken to the bank for Form A processing? or what should iask the doctor to write in the letter?

Ghost readers be forced to register only when they need info not detailed on the thread. They are the perfect ppl who claim to know everything meanwhile na here dey get am.....
My personal opinion is that if everybody does same, there will be nobody to ask these questions here. There are mums and dads that have being part of this thread for about 5years,and still here answering our questions, they are not fools! You know yourselves o guests readers following all steps here to birthing in the US without aknowledgememt to your source of info.

I don't know if there's a particular person you're referring to or a personal experience but generalising, you do know a lot of people have been birthing in the US long before this thread was created and some are still birthing without knowing of the existence of this thread. So not everyone who has gone to give birth in the US came to Nairaland.

But when they come and talk or ask thier 'supposed silly questions',you people are quick to attack, like only the old members have a right here . Some people are even scared to ask questions or drop thier bad experiences coz of fear of the 'mob action'...my opinion

True, my sis gave birth in the US and she's not on Nairaland, never heard of it before sef

I think Omodadi is referring to ghost readers, how do u explain someone pm'ing you for post of about 30pages back, u were about to reply, decided to look up the person's profile....only to discover that he/she registered today itself, started ffg today and asked question of about 30pages back today itself and also directed the question to the appropriate person(s) today gangan.

It can only mean he/she has been gathering info on this thread as a guest without registering.

If people like LadyG, Tvegas, Firsttymum, Nerf, Modath, Happytbaby and co da I can't rem now didn't share, guess others won't be able to learn or can one share or relate with others as a guest? #myopionion#

There's nothing like 'old' or 'new' members discrimination to questions. Even if one is old and ask questions, there are other ppl who term as silly while there have bin times when some other ppl even fight on dia behalf. Everyone's view/interpretation to issues is different.
I only feel that we should help each other especially sharing information that will be beneficial to others. Not like the parasitic affairs only...I stand to be corrected though..
@bbaby84, there are many ppl on the thread that only register to follow ppl and send pm to them just because they mention a particular issue that they need more info on, meanwhile they have bin reading thread, followed all steps they get here till the particular one in question that isn't detailed on the thread. They know themselves cos most of them have no name here sef bt will be reading this.

Re: XXXX - Medical Reference Letter

Dear Dr. XXXX

I am referring Bleep to you for evaluation and consideration for obstetrical and gynecological services. She is currently XX weeks pregnant and weighsXXXkg. She has been receiving antenatal care from me since when she was XX weeks pregnant.

This is the patient’s first pregnancy/second blah blah and was not conceived via IVF. She has no history of fibroids, ovarian cysts or surgeries.

Her estimated delivery date is Bleep, 2016

I anticipate that this will provide her with significantly improved healthcare. Kindly provide her with all necessary assistance to ensure a safe delivery.

Thank you

Regards.

Has to be on the hospital letter headed paper. That's all.

As for watching kids, w can't ever be careful enough, it's all God's grace & mercy..... while in the US, one of the nurses told me a story that not only scared the heck outta me, (I almost had such an experience but mercy said NO) I learnt a major lesson thereafter....

A new mum (probably exhausted) fell asleep while cuddling her fussy baby & the baby fell from her grip & got a cracked skull.... cry

I'm not aware of the 30kg thing. I know I always get 2 bags checked in at about 23kg each, my infant gets 1 bag, 23 kg and they check in car seat and stroller for free.

Where did you see the 30kg thing? Your ticket will sure your baggage allowance just view the email till the end.

@leaky tribe, saw the 30kg on their website, but I hv dug deeper now, and hv seen 2bags of 23kg each.
thanks for the quick response.

did you use Dubai connect...? how was the experience...was it worth it?.
pls confirm the carry on baggage policy, can 1 carry a laptop bag + a small briefcase/box?............some airline allow that flexibility, but arik is notorious for insisting on only 1 carry on bag/laptop bag.

hv u flown united?...how wud u compare united and emirates service/inflight entertainment?.............wud hv preffered united since its a direct flight, but its quite pricey! grin grin

I would fly Emirates to the states any day but I'll prefer to be by myself or with Lè hubs ( no babies, pregnancy or toddlers).

Qatar does one 30kg bag so it's possible.

For flights with stopovers longer than 7hrs Emirates lodges you in an hotel and they feed you. I hear it's quite relaxing. Please call them to confirm. I have done 8 hours stopover with belle before on BA it wasn't so bad but I had company o. Maybe if you like watching movies you can download some on your laptop or tablet and camp close to a rest room to wait. Also ask, Emirates may wanna treat you nicely cos you are a preggie, Yuri may be allowed into business class lounge or something
