Public servants should have some degree of decorum.
Stop celebrating and abating their incompetence in public relation.

You are quick to populate any thread that greases your ego and gives you leverage to pounce on the government and give vent to the your bitterness-ridden hearts. I just read a thread on Okonjo Iweala borrowing to pay salaries when we were selling crude oil for N64 or thereabouts and not on of you blind critics were found on that thread to put up any defence for your so-called hero and heroines. But you are quick to fly in here to polish your pained ego and criticize any thing that is connected with APC and Buhari whether founded or not.

A popular musician or sportsman can afford to talk anyhow but definitely, this shouldn't come from an som1 paid from tax payers money.
The citizens are Ur employers, including the ones abroad cos they also pay tax in one way or d other, for eg,when they remit funds home and an elected or appointed official should accord all citizens maximum respect.

But nobody asked the guy to come home in d first place before he started listing all d woes in Nigeria.
The guy was probably looking for who to get into a political fight with but Abike no gréé.

You go school at all? Why do you think she holds the position she does at the moment? Her position exists to ask people "to come home". Nigerians and the way they think.

Her response might have been a bit harsh but she was correct.
Her initial post said 'I'm not asking you to come back'.
What is so difficult in understanding that line, some e-warriors just shoot off without thinking about what they have just read

If someone wants to come home for whatever reason, people anywhere should please stop making trouble where there is none, It is not your call to decide who does or doesnt come home.

This is the type of attitude which led to millions of people of African descent being shipped overseas as slaves, it is lack of decorum, misplaced priorities and lack of foresight for anything good as well as self hate.

Dont be a thorn in people's flesh just because you can. Find something worthwhile which you can do with your time.

God is watching.

Anyone who likewise decides not to come home, it is your priority and your decision, your prerogative. I am not castigating you over your choice so therefore you should also learn to live and let live.

Are you done? OK. "but who is asking you to come?" is a question. Even after he replied to her question, her reply was rather encouraging- to embrace unity.

You're correct, most of the time, people on here react to get a reaction but it still doesn't take away from the fact that as a public officer holder you'll be scrutinized more than most for comments made. And Abike isn't known to have such pattern of rudeness but it's still something that could have been avoided.

VictorRomanov:

I know bro. But all the same the problem didn't start from the comment she made. It start from how you and I response to criticisms: harshly. When we hold high positions our mentality doesn't change automatically. We will still be tending towards harsh response to criticism. Abike Dabiri is not known to have a pattern of rude response. So we should cut her some slack. Some of us intentional provoke celebs and pub officials to get a response. And when they give us the response we crave, we begin to play both saint and victim.

Nairaland is awashed with threads on how people insult and pick on celebs to provoke them. They are as human as we are.

You guys re forgetting one thing: being a public officials don't change who u re. You may hide it only as long as conditions are favourable, but will explode when things take a different turn. A rude common person will definitely make a rude official. An oath of office don't change nada. Let us first learn to be diplomatic and polite as individuals then when we become officials we wouldn't find it difficult.

If you doubt me, watch President Buhari's Aljazeera interview. Ask Sunday oliseh too and others.

Abike Dabir was wrong, yes. she has also come out to explain her statement. even though a wrong impression has already been created. too bad.
but these our leaders sef... what is the problem with u all? instead of encouraging Nigerians, they are being arrogant. Imagine Kachikwu saying he is not a magician and we shud not expect fuel scarcity to end soon. Well, God is with us.
I prefer to be told the truth so I know how to adjust than be lead astray with lies and fall. When confronted with difficulty it s human nature to retreat into a world where everything works well, a world of imagination, of lies. Would you rather be told fuel scarcity will end soon and be relaxed, or be told the truth n bulk up for the tough times. verily I say unto you, if we are told lies, one day it will be exposed n it won't be pretty

on abike's case, the deal is, nobody can be pleased, we all read meaning to a comment based on how we perceive life, to me the comment means nothing, no one asked him to come bck , she replied someone b4 him (check the time stamp) why d hell is he still complaining.

the illusion that NG was far better with GEJ is manmade propaganda by the opposition party, Nigeria certainly has gone down economic wise, but not to such an extent that GEJ regime was gold.

I no dey support any party o, GEJ was also plagued with increase and decrease in fuel price, light has pretty much remained same in Delta here, n also WHR I sch in osun.

a MAJOR reason for the extra difficulties is the dwindled oil price,(top analyst world wide predicted this for oil dependent nations so its not a hidden fact) to now say buhari is d cause of our woes is simply playing to d tune of d opposition.

baba don't let PDP n APC matter consume you or anyone, simply live ur like life, achieve ur goals, let your name be known world wide. **my 2 cents**

For someone who lives abroad I find it most dishonest and unjust for us to live in a good environment, with peace and all other trappings and expect the people in Nigeria to suffer and build the nation so we can all come back and benefit from their painful sweat.

If you want to stay put abroad do so, no one is asking anyone to come home. However if you have any nationalism in your blood you should want to go home and help out, or do so from where you are. But to want to go home to a set dinner I'm sorry is unpatriotic

no, her position exists to relate with our citizens overseas, and better the relationship between them, the country they are in and Nigeria.

no country will survive with all its citizens locked up at home.

there was a comment to which she replied to before his, why was he still complaining. human patience is limited.

she is wrong, she is right, my own be say, these are just tools to distract NG youths from working n fulfilling their purpose, instead they crowd up wasting precious time shouting at someone already rich n famous.
