Sorry for the problem you're passing through, there is this combination i use to treat any kind of bacterials/viruses(any sickness i mean) in birds,it works like a magic. But it is a pity i cant share it here, it is my secrete.

If you can't share it with him why did you mention it? Or you want him to pay for the info? #justaski.n.g#

This thread is for sharing ideas. I have learnt alot on this thread and I believe you have too. Nobody is an island of knowledge and there's nothing new under the sun. So if you have a solution that can help other farmers, why can't you share it?

Eggcelent, FarmTech and others have been sharing what they have here for free. So you can do same too. Tanx

Beaides, why do you think i will just drop an info that took me alot of efforts, loses and research to get like that? Honestly i wanted to use my money to send the formular to him if he has done the right thing(because he must pay if i'm to teach him) but he desided to insults my effort by saying i must drop it here.

I've lost over 500 birds to the same problem he's facing, i took a greatest risk before i discover it. His reply should have been more encouraging.

solution-1/u give d broiler finisher/ layers u give grower mash while d cockerel gets any feeds available with feeding reduced to 3 times a day. solution-2. start marketing by word of mouth, banner ads at conspicuous locations, meet pepper soup eateries, open market, road-side chicken barbeques marketing ahead and at least three weeks b4 their maturity. layers lay eggs and its eggs are in high demand and most importantly build ur cliente lists with dia direct contacts information. solution-3. separate them by demarcating d space with spread torn- empty sack tired to d ceilings on two corners in suspension and with stones placed underneath its foot to make it firm. separation can be done on that same very space. check more posting on www.agricnetwork.com

@iykenuobia-they need deworming n lasota and 24/7 feeds with clean water and apart from d normally 11hr daylight duration. u will have to expose them to a further at dz stage 3hrs of artificial lightning amounting to a maximum of 14hrs daylight only to stimulate their ovaries. thats to say if they are healthy. stay steady on one particular feed brand they will be used to it and evenually pickup. continue to add 30mins of artificial lighting every week until it max at 17hrs of daylight for them. use white bulbs especially d energy-saver types.

I think this is the same thing happening to me... they are weak and very easy to carry without them even struggling. I haven't really found a solution to it bit first thing u do is seperate the weak ones from the others. if not it has a way of spreading. after separating give them antibiotics. it's not a perfect solution but at least for now, till u find a more precise solution.

separate and isolate d sick(weak) from d rest- get virucine sol mixed with N.C.O wasp antibiotic drug. or any antibiotic drug that contains oxytetracycline in its compositions and adminster to the entire poultry stock

1. All can take starter up to two months; so you can still keep them together. 2. If the present place they are is spaced enough make up your mind to partition it into two; broiler & cockerel can stay one place while the other side will be for your layer. 3. you can start looking for buyers for the broiler from two months if they are matured. It takes cockerel much long time mature so you can continue the layer and cockerel on grower mash. Best of luck.

Hello all,

Please if you get the attached docs in the email I sent you, please let me know here on Nairaland, omotititi, said that (He or she) didn't get the first one I sent. Just want to make sure everyone gets it. And please omotititi, if you still didn't it, let me know so that I can keep trying to make sure you get it.

Just a quick comment, This poultry industry holds a great opportunity for everyone who is willing to put their shoulders to the wheel and push along. One of the things that I noticed in my research was that it cost me about N15,000 (Fifteen thousand Naira) to raise 25 day old chicks to 2.5kg within 7 weeks. I am thinking very very small scale project to teach people how they can do this, and they can turn around and sell the chicken for about N850/kg which will give them about N2,125 estimate par bird. Multiple that by 25 birds, that will give you N53,125. Some people work as a gas station attendant and makes about N15k/month that means N30k in 2 months. or a new graduate who will spend the next 2 years looking for work. These individuals could be trained on how to do this and they will be their own BOSS with enough time in the day to do other things they like and at the same time growing their poultry business. From 25 birds, they can increase their next set to 30, 40, 50 birds and the growth will continue.

The comfort here is that the Nigerian population will swallow any quantity you throw at them, so it doesn't matter how many people are involved in this industry, of course the game will then becomes marketing, products differentiation and packaging. I have never been this excited about any thing before.

Good luck guys.

Franklin Kalu
Greetings mr frank could you please send me the formulae for virushild here is my email address edwardarinze@gmail.com... Remain blessed
