pcoolioz: Well it depend on each farmer practice and experience. Gumboro should come first before Lasota even before day 7. Test this and see what happen. The problem with your birds were due to gumboro infection |

Nacre1. What type of birds? How old are they? For how long have you given them the Embazin Forte? Have you ever given any other brand of anti-cocci? Is the litter (always) wet? |
Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by FarmTech(m): 8:53pm On Mar 15, 2016 |
Nacre1:.. Likely cocci or necrotic enterisis. Embazzin forte can do the job. Hw long have u been giving embazin..? U may also have to try more powerful sulfa drugs like agracox. Dicoxin.. |

hello great farmer!!!! Greetings from the East. I have been following this thread and I really want to venture into this kinda business. How much do u think one can start up with? I have already a land with water supply and about 3m Naira on the go. How many pullets do u suggest I go with? For me I have in mind going with 3000 layers. What do u think? Is it a good idea? |

nanaposh29:With 3m. A standard house that will accomodate 3000 birds will cost u 1,5m by direct labour. Cage locally fabricated 1,5m So my opinion start with 1500. Build a house that will accomodate same for 1m and use the remaining for cage. |

Please I will need your candid advice. 1. is the breeding process of turkey and chicken the same? the matter here is that i applied for a first hand practical coaching on poultry raring in a reputable university of agriculture, i told them that i want to have a first experience on fowl abi chicken raring, so i enrolled. but on my first day of training, i noticed that the dont have chicken in stock but rather turkey. what they presently have in stock is turkey, so i want to ask is the breeding process of turkey the same with that of chicken? please i want to know because its chicken training i asked for and not turkey training. Please i need advice as urgent as possible thanks. 1 Like |

Nacre1:.. Tnk God. But next time prevent it by giving an anti cocci drug from day 9-13. It has damaged their intestine and will make feed assimilatn less efficient. See a good vaccine/medication plan here: http://farmersjoint.com/doc-screening-lab-result.html. 1 Like |
Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by FarmTech(m): 11:31pm On Mar 16, 2016 |
akonucheinfo:.. Do u really mean breeding process or rearing process? The rearing process can't be the same, but they'll have similarities. |

akonucheinfo: from what I know you can use most of your chicken vaccines for turkeys but not vice versa totally, they are a bit alike but there are some differences. |
