Thanks my dear for that intelligent question. Honestly I applied to 8 schools in finland(Aalto, helsinki,TUT,LUT,Abo Akademi,UEF,Oulu,UTA all in computer related courses). I applied after having numerous correspondence with them since sept 2015 regarding my academic background(OND=3.03/4.00, HND=2.54/4.00, PGD=3.74/5.00 computer science and bet me,my qualification is equivalent to B.Sc. Computer Science) I scored 60 in PTE making me eligible to UEF,TUT,LUT,Oulu but Aalto sent me amail that they dont recognize PGD and HND, so that one is out of question. UEF will reply that they recognize it but some of their faculty members will say they dont recognize it so they were a lot of discrepancies in our conversations.
Below is the reply TUT sent me after I sent them a mail on the criteria used for grading my application:
Dear Applicant,

I'm sorry to inform that your application was not among those accepted in 2016 for the Master’s Degree Programme in Information Technology at Tampere University of Technology.

The rating of candidates was based on the following main criteria:
1. A complete application with all the requested documents with official authentication submitted by the application deadline.
2. Fulfillment of the basic requirements for the programme (field and level of the academic studies, English language skills proved with a valid TOEFL, IELTS, CPE/CAE or PTE score report).
3. A completed B.Sc. degree from a relevant field.
4. Grades and course GPA of the B.Sc. studies.
5. Versatile studies in the B.Sc. and their possible correspondence to equivalent TUT courses especially in the fields of mathematics, physics, and electrical engineering.

The minimum amount of marks to be accepted was 75. Unfortunately your application received 10 marks mainly based on number 2.

The application process is highly competitive and only the most highly qualified students may be accepted to the programme.

It is not possible to be placed on a waiting list. Accepted students who give up their place in the programme will not be replaced by other candidates.

On behalf of the Student Admission Committee I thank you for your interest in Tampere University of Technology and wish you all the success in the future.

Below is the mail i replied them:

Good Day,

After a critical review of the criteria used for my application, I am still worried based on the following:

a) The minimum amount of marks to be accepted was 75. Unfortunately your application received 10 marks mainly based on number 2.

Since my score on number 2 was 10, Does it mean that number 1,3,4,5 criteria did not receive any score?

With regards to number 1, My complete application was submitted before the deadline .

With regards to number 3, 4 and 5; Prior to my application to TUT, I made many email correspondence to TUT informing TUT that my academic background is as follows:

1) National Diploma in Computer Science with a CGPA of 3.03 / 4.00
2) Higher National Diploma in Computer Science with a CGPA of 2.54 / 4.00
3) Post Graduate Diploma/ Post Higher National Diploma in Computer Science with a CGPA of 3.74 / 5.00 meaning that I have a degree equivalent to B.Sc. in Computer Science`and I was told that I am eligible.

Does it mean my transcripts of the above mention degrees were not evaluated and considered?I also ask if my application was only evaluated using my English Language proficiency because a score of 10 was allocated to it thereby neglecting other factors which did not receive any score?

Regards

*****Most schools I made correspondence via email only recognized B.SC in place of HND and PGD but only LUT recognized HND and PGD.
mavinc4u:

okay, thanks

did they say it was declined because you have HND and PGD? does it mean that they don't accept PGD

Meanwhile, is there any BSc holder or PGD holder that received a regret mail from TUT. I need to figure out some things.

*****Most schools I made correspondence via email only recognized B.SC in place of HND and PGD but only LUT recognized HND and PGD.

My dear the problem is with PGD cert, probably they don't accept it for admission into their school. I got a regret mail too even with my B sc and thousands of certificate, I think I shot my self on the leg with the PGD in my CV which they possibly assumed to be post graduate diploma without knowing my PGD is a professional graduate diploma. They said I was only graded base on No 4 which I scored 65, if they can grade me on 4; what then happens especially to 3 and 5 which are related to 4. Something is definitely wrong with them, if not for money Na Harvard my mates dey grin.
I pray that one works out for you because all these are money going for nothing coupled with stress, in as much as it took me only 2 weeks to process my application because of time but the stress is something else. My last document which is my transcript got to them on the deadline date but before the estimated time of deadline.
Anyway, I have mailed them to explain why my PTE exams and Bsc qualification were not graded and also to point out that my PGD is not post but professional, if I didn't get any tangible response then I will appeal if it does not involve money because I am not ready to give them any money.

Bros immigrants is not killing Sweden in any way. On the contrary because of Sweden's generous asylum and immigration policy, their economy is on a boom. They have one of the best performing economy is the whole of Scandinavia and Europe. Experts say this is as a result of high influx of migration. They are bound to be some tension considering that these people are coming from a different cultures but with time they will be integrated and the long-term benefit to Swedish Economy is glaring
