binhozie: I thought you said our top talents are thirty at a young age. So was Yobo thirty in Nigeria '99 World Youth Championship. Look at your statement. Age cheats are running our football. Are you their fathers? Or you were the doctor that gave birth to them. |

terzurum5: I can't remember saying anything about fluminese and Queretaro, I was talking about ronaldo De Lima Joe where do you get your defenders from ? The strength of a club doesn't determine if a player can play in another club, its the players quality that determines Delli Alli was in Mk dons and he is a starter in Tottenham doesn't mean Mk dons mildfield is better or not better than Tottenham's own |

U-23 STAR CONFIRMS MACCABI HAIFA TRANSFER According to Akwa United and Nigeria U-23 forward, Ubong Ekpai he will join Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in the summer. Ekpai will travel to Israel later in the week to finalise the deal that will see him leave Akwa United before the end of the Nigeria Professional Football League season. Scorer of Nigeria’s lone goal in a 1-0 win over Brazil U-23 in an international friendly he was also a part of the team that won the Africa U-23 championship in Senegal. Ekpai joined Akwa United this season after two seasons with three times Nigeria Champions Kano Pillars where he was unfortunately involved in the robbery accident the team suffered before the start of last season Nigeria Professional Football League. He is represented by Argentine agent Marcelo Houseman who recently signed 15 Nigeria players to his player management agency last month. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2016/04/13/u-23-star-confirms-maccabi-haifa-transfer/ 1 Like |

binhozie: Who told you that our football is going down? So when we won the AFCON, the Age Cheats you claimed Ruined the team. I will say it again, it is not as people claim. If Kayode was thirty in 2007, so he is 39 now playing in Europe. It is not as you guys put it. If not the problems with the NFF and National team, we were doing fine and growing. Even now, our local League is growing and European clubs are hinting for talents here. It is not as you make it. |

I say it, it is Nigerians that carried this age cheat talk to Ghana that our success in the U17 is because of overaged players. Now that the MRI screening goes on before the tournament, how come we still do well. 1 Like |

binhozie: You are obviously living in the past. Look at Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac I cannot vouch for our U17 players before 2011. But since MRI was introduced in 2011, we have been producing players that are U17 or close to that. modified 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: I never said all players that turn up for U 20 are 30 yrs ,You are purposely missing the point even a yr makes you an age cheat, 24 yr olds 25 yr olds in U20 are cheats you don't have to be 30 before you are a cheat and they are honest ones, and they are those that are more than 35 self but I believe about 50% or more are not honest with their age MRI has an age span of 5 yrs or more so 21 yr olds or older can fit in to an U 17 team, There has been a conscious effort to reduce it in Nigerian youth set up I can see that, kudos to the relevant authorities but its still there, Some players fail MRI scan for U17 and play for U20 in 2 yrs time, I don't know why it happens thus maybe you know kindly enlighten me. |

Icon4s: You mention Isaac promise and say I am living in the past. Isaac Success. I haven't said anything on the U17 s It has been about the Olympic team and more recently the U 20 s And in one of my posts I clearly stated that I tip Nigeria to win the Olympics but it might not be because of Iwobi iheanacho and Osimhen but because of other experienced hands other than the 3 legal ones added to the team. |

binhozie: I can see you are gradually shifting grounds. This info may help you shift more grounds: MRI offers an alternative as a non‐invasive method of examination. The grading system presented clearly identifies different degrees of epiphysial fusion of the distal radius. Inter‐rater and intrarater reliabilities are high and the learning curve steep because of clear and simple criteria, even for a non‐radiologist. Complete fusion occurs at the age of 17–18 years in the ethnic groups examined, with faster maturation among Argentinian and Malaysian boys in comparison with Algerian and Swiss. The mean age of participants with complete fusion of the radius was 18.3 years (SD 0.9) indicating that complete fusion is very unlikely to occur at 17 years of age. In our population only one boy out of 130 aged 16 (0.8%) presented complete fusion. Most boys in the age group between 16 and 17 years presented as grade II . The current data justify extension of the examined population to other ethnic groups such as sub‐Saharans, East Asians and Central Americans. As the presented study did not register weight and height, we recommend including anthropometrical data including body mass index to analyse the possible influence on the speed of maturation. In conclusion, MRI offers an alternative as a non‐invasive method of examination of epiphysial fusion. The grading system can accurately identify the variable degrees of epiphysial fusion in an objective teachable manner. source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2465138/ 1 Like |

binhozie: Your belief does not make it fact. It could be fifty percent or more are not honest. It could be ten percent or less. You are not in place to spread those figures as if they are facts. They are guesses in the figment of your imagination. That is what they are guesses. When you see a player and you see him wrinkled. It could he that he is fifty-five years old or he could be 17 years old and he looks that way due to the hard life he faced growing up. The new pictures coming out of Osimhen looks fresh, young and relaxed. Totally different from the rough looking kid fighting to make a name in the U17. The MRI was not made because of us. Other Nations had age cheats. So do not tag and label the players of a Nation what you are not sure of. You used the thirty range. It is not true. 4 Likes |

Why do we do this? Why? Why do we come online and share articles, comments, news about out talents making something for themselves home and abroad? Is it because we are perfect? No. We are far from it. The FIFA ranking says it. Everyone can see it. Is it because we are proud? No. We are not going to the AFCON and we did not go there last time. How can we be proud. We do this because out there, little to no one cares about the struggle that goes on down here. No one cares that the Government hands Billions of naira to the NFF and we have little to show. None to few of those folks care if there are corrupt people in the powers of our football holding us back with bad decisions. Do the Foreigners think we are perfect? No. We do this because it takes us to see the light in the dark tunnel. It takes us to tell the World that Blessing Eleke was proud that he saved his team from losing a game. That he is not a black idiot but a young man who is making a name for himself despite the obstacles he faced growing up. It takes people like us to tell the Foreigners that, "No. We are not all age cheats. There are a lot of young Nigerians who move from secondary schools to clubs. The likes of John Mikel Obi who Plateau United fans called a small secondary school boy. If we do not know, who will? Dailymail? Telegraph? It is us, you and I on this thread, Nigerians who should know. If Osimhen did not go through the MRI, many will jump up and down and say he is overage. He does not look smooth. No one says there are no age cheats in Nigeria. Saying all our top young talents are age cheats or all players in the NPFL are age cheats defeat what we do here. We are here to show that despite people see us as darkness, the sun still shines here. 7 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Good write up my brother. I hate it when peeps come here to tag our players age cheats. I know many old players that did nt cheat with their age. One of them is Emmanuel Amuneke. He was born in 1970. He finished Class Five(so it was called then) in 1989. That means he was 19 then. (We dey old for school those days). He shortly after signed a professional contract with Julius Berger FC. He broke into d national team at d 1991 All African games (U23) as a 21years old. Shortly after he signed for Egyptian giant-Zamalek. And d rest is history. He was one of d over-aged players at d 1996 Olympics. He used his real age. He did nt look older than the Likes of Amokachi, Okocha, Ikpeba and Oliseh hu were still U23 then. I know most professional African players age-cheat bt it is nt 100%. It baffles me that even with the introduction of the MRI some people still believe our last 2 Golden Eaglets class were over aged. Taiwo Awoniyi that even wrote WAEC after he participated in the 2013 FIFA U17. A guy dat knows John Lazarus in Abuja said he wrote WAEC a year before he featured at d U17 WC yet people were saying Lazarus doesn't look 17. I know how people doubted d ages of the 2013 Eaglets until a pix they took 2 years earlier as U15 surfaced. And the difference in terms of physique was so clear. They looked 15 in 2011 & then looked 30 in 2013? Age cheats was well pronounced in d past bt we have a new generation of talents of which most are truely their real ages and lets run with that. And i expect more from dem cos they are yet to hit their peaks. 1 Like |
