Good evening.. This is my first post here.

Have been a silent follower and I must say I have gathered useful information so far.

I have a few concerns and would need sincere advice.

I applied for my b1/b2 visa for the first time in August 2015 and was denied.

I reapplied again in December 2015 to go spend the Christmas in Philadelphia. I had my interview on the 12th of December and was granted. I was asked to pick up in a few working days which I did. I didn't go for the Christmas holiday as my relative I was supposed to stay with was spending the Christmas in Nigeria.

I discovered I was pregnant early January of 2016. I sincerely had no idea a baby was forming in my tummy at the time of he interview. I have since used the visa for a holiday in February of this year.

My husband and I have since decided to birth our child in Philadelphia. My concerns are thus;

1. Do I still write to the embassy to notify them of my decision even though I have already gone on a holiday with the visa?
2. I have not been been able to get a doctors appointment but I have correspondence with the hospital financial advisor, as the hospital I'm using (Delaware county memorial hospital Philadelphia) requires full payment before a doctor's appointment can be fixed
3. The financial advisor said I can pay when I get in to the states ( which I plan to do since that option is available and I want to be sure I have entered so I don't dash them my money) Is the hospital correspondence enough to show at the POE with proof of capability to pay my bills

I plan to travel in the second week of June at about 27weeks

Please kind and sincere responses would be appreciated. Bless!

1) It depends on u..... I birthed in philly abt 3wks ago and just like u, i got my visit visa in Dec wn i was 5months preggie and ensured i used it that same Dec for visit. I returned, having decided to go back for childbirth by first week in March and sent in the notification of intent letter ( despite having used d visa 4 its purpose) just to have their response handy shld i come in contact wt a tough CBP. I ended up not using it though as i went tru ATL poe and absolutely no doc wa requested.
2) I used Crozer-Chester Medical Center which is also under the same Crozer-Keystone Health System as DCMH u plan using. All i travelled with was their correspondence which clearly states the bill (i signed the necessary parts ahead of time) & the doctor's correspondence stating her bill too. Unlike DCMH, i wasn't required to pay any bill upfront and i was to source my Obgyn, anesthesiologist and Pediatrician myself which i did and got all necessary correspondences that I could get (however like i earlier mentioned, none of this was requested).
Nevertheless, i made sure i travelled with a complete burden of proof, $4k cash at hand, $5k in foreign bank acct, bank statement of hubby and I showing enough funds just in case the correspondences weren't convincing enough.
I believe this childbirth journey aint a one-size-fits-all kinda situation but one must ensure that one dots all 'i's and cross all 't's. Do all that's needful and pray as well. Wish u da best

@cheldas I am not a visa guru, however I know grace speaks so this is my advise but the onus is on you to make the final decision:

The countries you have travelled to aren't bad at all cos I know people who only went to Ghana and got the American visa. Secondly if NOUN is an acronym for National Open University of Nigeria, then its a good tie to Nigeria. So with that you can apply with wifey most especially as she is expecting twins and its obvious she can only attach one baby to her ticket. However if choosing to apply with her, first find out if your previous application has resulted in a ban and if not then apply with her and be very truthful.

However of your previous application has resulted in a ban, then let her apply alone as @ladyguinevere advised. If she isn't too far gone, then y'all can first take a vacation to somewhere like the UK or even Kenya sef just to give her travel experience cos I know some VOs are particular about that. All the same its Grace so just be as honest as you can and may God's grace speak for you whatever route you decide to take.

@LadyG, http://nou.edu.ng is not an online suku. Lol
&ChicMalkia, thanks so much for your contribution but how can I check if ban or not?
I really don't know at this stage and this got me worried that how she will be carrying two if she alone goes to the state.
Pls help on how to find out if ban or not so as to know next line of action. Thanks to all

Thank you @damidamsel for your response and congrats on the birth of your baby smiley

From what I can gather, using Crozer chester medical center may serve me better as I can get a doctor's correspondence compared to DCHM.

Please can you send me the contact details of the Obstetrician you used so I make further enquiries and a copy of your intent letter to the embassy if possible (I have a sample already but won't mind having yours aswell)

Also, I have family in Philly, is it possible they could source the obstetrician for me?

Also when you say "burden of proof", what did yours contain so I can have mine handy. I will be going direct to Philadelphia and not Atl POE. I pray a seamless experience. My first time wasn't stressful at all and I travelled with my husband.

Look forward to your response.

Hellooooo! I hope we do o, it would be really nice.

So these were the steps I took:
1. I preregistered online as advised by Iphie26 and ify4charm
2. A week after preregistering, I called their pre-registration dept: as Passionantchica adivised you to. I followed the voice prompt till i was connected to an agent. I told her i preregistred online and was calling to ask for my account number. She asked for my names and date of birth and afterwards gave me my account number.
3. After I got my number, I called Lisa I gave her my account number and asked for wire information which she forwarded via email to me.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

The issue is that my calls have always on the queue and I just get tired and end it. I'll keep trying though, hopefully I'll get through soon.
Thanks a bunch!

I dont know how that is done but I know people have been able to check it as well as the status of their visa application after denials...I recall my cousin who was denied four times in Naija as regards schooling was able to get someone to check her status...the person checked with the embassy and then told her that against her application was written desperate and certain other things and she was told not to apply till after some months as any application in that period would be denied...and so about 6 months later she applied for visiting whilst studying in the UK and it was granted.

Don't loose hope o...visa miracles abound so how about you ask at the US visa travel thread as well as the "ask VOs question" thread. You should find answers there...

Hola!
So Atlanta mommas that have used Northside hospital, please what was the experience like, did you get free strollers too. I personally would prefer a free car seat. cheesy
Did you get private wards? Hope your final bills didn't differ too much from the estimates given. What's it like.
If you paid upfront for CS delivery and birthed naturally, did you get a refund on the difference?
How was Dr. Valisia? Did she eventually accept tests from Naija?
Being in Atlanta, I'd expect baby documentations to be sorted out quicker. Was this the case?
Please share your experiences, it would really be a great learning.
Gracias

Hello NLnders,

I have followed this forum right from part 1 and have found it educative.

My DH after going thru the forum decided to have our baby in the US at the last minute, I was already 28week, so we quickly got all the necessary docs together and initiated correspondence with a hospital in Houston.

Our visa interview date came(by this time I was already 34 weeks) and we both went for the interview with our burden of proof containing our correspondence with the hospital, statement of account, marriage certificate, letter of intro from my place of work etc.

To cut the story short the VO that interviewed us was quite friendly and we answered all his questions.

The VO then brought out the sacred white slip and asked us to come pick our visas within the week.

By Monday, my DH got a mail to come pick his visa which was quite surprising as we applied together but to my surprise I received a mail on Thursday informing me that my visa application is going through an administration process and I have to wait at least 60 days before I can contact the embassy.

Fast-forward to now, I have not heard from them, they only asked me to come collect my passport after 2 weeks that they will contact me after the admin processing is completed.

My question is what do they mean by admin processing and can I reapply for visa again as to the best of my knowledge my visa application was neither granted or denied.

BTW, I had my LO here in Nigeria eventually. But I still plan to have the next one in the US.

Please help with answers to my questions

Until your passport returns to you, you cannot re- apply. I'm sorry you may just have to wait it out. I believe checks were being done on your application. Just pray for speed.

Please where can I get PTA. Do you know whether the bureau De change at the airport are still operational and at what rate are they selling dollars
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by MadameU: 5:14am On May 08, 2016
BDCsAre still selling dollars, but not as they used to. this PTA issue don turn another thing.most banks are not selling at this time, those selling put you on a queue which still does not guarantee that you would get at the end of the day.

Admin processing means they are conductingchecks, validating the details you supplied.
Whether you can reaaply will depend on the result of the check. If u get the Visa, clearly u don't need to apply again. If you don't, then you will need to find out why you were refused to know the apprioprat course of action

Hey lady,
I just remembered that you can check cheapfareguru.com for connecting flights. Used it way back in the past, you should be able to find some good flights.
May God bless your hustle! kiss

Nnystc:
Nnem nor vex.
Yankee na open country. The land of the free. No one has monopoly over any birthing destination.
And for you to be porting, it means that you're concerned about cost, as a mama that is out to pay your bills (not like the d'jango Medicaid tribe). So why I go dey vex say you wan come our hometown? grin grin

Only problem be say I nor get info about connecting flight. If to say I bin don float that airline I dey plan since, I for give you the info.
wink cheesy grin
Abi Nef, you don float ya own??

Seriously though LA receives flights from every state I'm sure. Don't forget its the celebrity capital and base. So connecting flight nor go hard. As usual, you can "giggle" or "goggle" it inside the "h'internet"!

Wow. Congrats dear. I think you were the one i saw my first day at the Dr's office with your LO mum and aunty. Didn't know you went through all these. May God's name be praised. And like you said, the Dr. Is a God sent. Nice to a fault. May God bless him. He even offered to collect his fees via wire transfer despite slashing his fees.
And for those considering L.A., trust me it's so much better here. Used Oakbend and Dr F last time and i can tell the difference. There is also Metro bus and train to almost every where. Haven't spent up to 10 dollars on transportation since I came and I go out almost every day. Most times, the bus driver will just wave you and say dodnt bother paying.

Congratulations to you and all mums who have delivered of their LOs. God bless you all. To that mum that gave birth at 34weeks , It was indeed a miracle. I gave birth at 34weeks 5days and all my babies were in the NICU for about 2 weeks before they were discharged. Paying NICU bills is not beans. Glory be to God for such a miracle.

Now, this your doctor is amazing. Will certainly use him for my next journey before T shuts the door on us.
