@leakytribe, my case dey baba God hands ooo. I wasn't given during first delivery here in 9ja cos blood group was showing AB+ only for me to do another test during this pregy n my obgyn said it's AB-. I've done the test like 6times n it's still -ve so I'm really concerned cos my doc isn't sure if I was given during the last delivery. So since I'm planin on delivering in us that's y I want to knw if they do charge for it separately.

hi dear,

Oh please, keep quiet! Yes, you heard me, be quiet! You keep yapping about MIHS package being for residents, hence Naija mamas not being entitled to it, did you check to see if it had any of such conditions? This screen shot you posted is for the new package when they had stopped accepting out-of-town patients. The previous package didn't have ANY condition whatsoever.

Vivianobas made an oversight with the resident clause and you quickly picked on it and even after someone pointed it out, you still refused to let it go. Same with other ill-informed mamas tagging along with you.

We should all be careful of whatever we discuss here. There are VOs and POE officers reading. We don't want them thinking all MIHS mamas and others that used package deals did something illegal. We don't want to give the wrong impression about mamas here. We already have it so hard, we don't need any more issues.

Moreover, 99% of mamas here used/use subsidized deals. Without any form of subsidy, no hospital in the US will cost less than $10,000-$15,000 for uncomplicated child birth. Some hospitals are just more subsidized than the others. That doesn't make them medicaid prone.

A friend's husband was refused visa some weeks ago because the wife paid less than $6,000 in an LA hospital. The VO insisted that no hospital in the US costs that low for childbirth. Another was sent back from Chicago POE for using another package deal for less than $5,000.

It could be MIHS on the line of fire now, it will be others tomorrow. Eventually, we will all be scared of using affordable deals cos of the unforseen consequences. Where does that leave us? We shouldn't corroborate the VOs stories here by implying that those affordable deals of less than $10,000 must have been paid for by the government or that mamas are not eligible for them.

Just thought to clear the air.

My post clearly acknowledged the fact that the contract may be different. I know everyone has the right to be st upid on a faceless forum but you are abusing that privilege. Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.Don't come for me unless I send for you.

It is my turn to share my testimony.

My LO was born yesterday 11th May 2016. Some of you would recall how my Dollars were stolen by my help before my trip. I was well prepared to follow it up and post everywhere about it but after my first doctors appointment here, the stolen money was irrelevant to me.

The doctor did a scan and said she found spots on my LO's heart that were indicative of either a hole in the heart or downs syndrome. I began to pray and believe God even though I was very shaken by the news.

Long story short, she arrived yesterday and is completely fine. She followed me straight from the OR to the postpartum recovery room. Join me praise the Lord. I'm one happy mumma.

Supermom! Congrats.
Xenadarl:
Congrats to all the new mums, we give thanks to God for His Mercies.
Had quite a day today.
left Delaware today via train to Washington after booking appointments online at both the US passport office (there's none in Delaware) and the Nigerian consulate.
Had posted my $77 money order to the address requested as instructed on the Nigerian immigration site and printed out my acknowledgement receipt a week ago and had been firing prayers for God's grace on the sojourn.
So me n the LO woke up @4am, LO well fed and wrapped placed in car seat and off we go to the train station. Left the amtrak station at Wilmington, Delaware at 6.30am arrived washington dc at 8.20am. Took the subway to Washington DC US passport office arrived about an hour l8r. Within anoda hour baby's documents had been processed and we were asked to come for collection the next day, pleaded with the lady who attended to me that I needed to collect it that day as I don't live in DC and she goes like, OMG, you came all the way from Delaware! Not a problem, happy to do that for you ma'am. Pls come back today by 2.30pm for your daughters' passport.
Off we head to the Nigerian Consulate which was 20mins away by Uber. Me-een, DC traffic no be here!
We arrive there abt 11.30am, processed our documents within 30mins. About an hour l8r we were called for capturing, they really took care of those with kids, their service was really good, surpassed my expectations by far!
After that we were asked to wait for collection but nor told how long we would have to wait. Naija style. Was beginning to worry cos the lady at the US passport office told me to make sure to get there b4 3pm as they close at that time and as I said b4 DC traffic ain't funny. But suprisingly shortly b4 2pm the passports we ready. You need to have seen me grinning ear to ear.
Off we head again catch anoda uber back to the US passport office and collect our blue passport.
Both passports collected same day b4 3pm, could only be God!
By then this breastfeeding mama was starving we walked 6mins to good ol' Mcdonalds had a good meal and even had time to ride on the DC tour bus and see the sights b4 heading home to Delaware.
When I told my host my plan she was doubtful weather I could accomplish all in one day even I was too but I trusted God and He saw me through. Wasn't easy o, as I was alone but He was faithful.

You won't go through immigration at Doha, as Doha won't be your POE. Your POE will be your first port of landing/entry in the States.

Good day all. I feel I should share my testimony here ( i'm not pregnant)

To God be the glory our visa application interview was successful today . After 3 denials in 2014 to go and give birth : we had docs correspondence and all.

Here is our transcript'

Vo : good morng

Hubby : good morng( I carried my son and my shoe heels were a bit high so I had to watch my steps, the interview had already started Before I got there)

Vo; why are u going to the us

Hubby; I am taking my family for vacation in Dallas

Vo; what's your monthly income

Hubby: he earns above six hundered thousand

Vo: what is ur position in ur company

Hubby tells her

Vo ; what do u do mam

Me, self employed (makeup artist)
Hubby cuts in and told her that I worked with so so company before I resigned to start my biz

Vo : have u travelled out of the country before

Hubby ; yes uk and south africa

Vo ; have u traveled out as a family

Hubby; yes to South Africa last year

Vo; turns to hubby and asked him how many times he has been to uk and he said 4times

Vo; turns to me ;are u pregnant? Me ; no Cos if u are u'll be turned back at point of entry

With this statement I started jubiliating in my mind. I now realized that she has not said we we approved so I turned it to prayer. Then she said u visa has been approved. grin grin angry

The two pregnant ladies that were interviewed before me were denied. I remember how I felt sad too when I applied for b2 visa and was denied 3times.

In all, I am grateful to God that the interview was successful

This wouldn't be the first time you have passed a comment without being conscious of others feelings. Please be a little more empathetic..... Just thought to point it out.
I hope you don't take this wrongly though!

Hi momma. I truly empathise with you and i tried as best as possible to state that too. My comment wasnt meant to make u feel bad but a response to vivianobas highlighted sentence on d package for low income earners.

Based on that premise, (unless wrongly stated) its only logical to ask just as LadyG, Anotherlife and other momas (who chose to keep quiet for fear of criticism) if we qualify with a B1/B2 visa.

Having said that... My statement wasnt targeted at just you. Its basically at all of us. In our quest for cheaper (especially with this dollar issue) lets jst be somewhat cautious... Thats all. I gave my experience with hope clinic as an example. I called for pediatrician and they wr practically trying to force medicaid on me.

In ur case as rightly pointed out ts possible someone in accounts did smth without your consent and we really pray for you... Not because of the refusal sef, but bcz its an integrity issue. You werent fraudulent and paid everybill and it hurts that they'd claim otherwise.

As to passing a comment without recourse to others feeling, i bliv you are not being objectiv or correct. I rearly talk and even when i do, i bliv that we all r entitlled to our opinions...and cant always tell others what they would rather hear.

Once again i empathise with you. Hope its sorted soon

This attachment clearly states that applicants must be full time residents at the time of signing the contract for this delivery package. If this was what you signed up for you were not qualified to enjoy that benefit because visitors on B1/B2 visas cannot be FULL time residents!

My sister. My friend.
I totally get how you feel. But let me drop a piece of advice. When faced with a tough case, (smart) Lawyers conduct a moot court session and have both sides argue their cases. The end point is that one is prepared for every scenario and has a rebuttal for it peraventure it comes up.
I know you are upset. Believe me, I know how if feels when things keep on going south.... But this is not the time to be emotional or upset. Take EVERY advice/opinion here and imagine it is the VO throwing it at u and get a smart rebuttal.
Both Varvara and amotherforlife have posted certain things u can use. Look for the version of the year you birthed and take both to the embassy and show them that AS AT THE TIME u birthed, this was the policy. And that it is different from the recent one. That is seems that policy has changed now but from the evidence u have, the old price was for every body and not a subsidy.
#hugs !

Wow.

Nicely put. Wisdom does flow in ur veins.
