Failures always look for excuses for their inaction thats due to their no working knowledge of a situation
while
Mediocres always look for excuses for their poor action thats due to their poor working knowledge of a situation
while
Great men always take responsibility for either their inaction or poor action; so that they can know the right working knowledge of a situation

Its high time for a cabinet reshuffle, Fashola played into the hands of the discos with the increase of the tariffs and he's the one bearing the brunt now. I think its high time a true expert is appointed as the minister of power, no sentiments or politics here.
Indeed Fashola is a MISFIT just as Bola Ige was under Obasanjo.
Time to get someone who UNDERSTANDS about electricity generation and distribution like Nnaji. All this talk about illegal sales is just NONSENSE excuse for non-performance.

I knew that NEPA's privatization went wrong when it was done the monopoly way, bad thing for privatization's intention of providing enjoyment for the populace.

If the refineries are privatized legally like we are expecting, it would be a very bold move made that will have far-reaching positive impact on the ordinary Nigerian!

They are illegally sold but there are legal issue that made sale reversal impossible, what then is illegal about a sale that is legally irreversible? Nigerians and contradictions! Anyway I don't blame them, they understand that many of their audience are not deep enough to see contradictions in their argument. We can say those companies are not sold to the best bidders but to say the legal component of the deal are not met might be a lie. Else legally reversing the deals that are not legitimately contracted ought not be any issue.

If it was illegally sold ,the sales can be reversed legally. This game of buying time with excuses should have stopped by now. This government should be proactive and responsible. The previous government is gone and gone forever. #workthetalk.

Why is it that everything about Jonathan is characterised with fraud. That man was a mistake in Nigeria.

Power has been privatized and there's "limited" influence the govt can have on the sector

What influence does the minister of education have on the fees charged by private universities in Nigeria?

But your hero removed the guy despite the accolades he was receiving. You guys praise Nnaji but refuse to give GEJ the boot for removing the hardworking fellow, I think Nnaji would have easily be retained if GEJ had left him just like akinwunmi adesina was recommended as afdb president by PMB after sending Atiku to Zuma for the south african candidate to step down for adesina.

Politics at times need to be set aside for things to move faster.

Truth is the whole privatisation process was faulty from the very beginning.
They (the pdp-led govt. ) sold the power sector to themselves, and whether we like it or not, are still calling the shorts.
A simple way to end this slavery that that private investors have plunged us into is to break the CABAL existing within the power sector.
See fashola oooo, he's already sounding political, selecting his choice of words. SMH embarassed
What exactly does he mean by saying it CANNOT be reversed? I pity him.
When edo and delta states govt fronted themselves to buy Benin zone, Goodluck Jonathan frustrated them outta the race. And instead gave it over to vigeo power, who have COMPLETELY given nothing but darkness. If you complain they throw into indefinite disconnection, threatening u wit soldiers and other security ops. More painful is the fact that they do this wit so much IMPUNITY.
No one is saying anything about it...where do we go from here? cry cry cry

Everyone including GEJ appreciated Nnaji, but he had to be removed because he compromised himself by being involved in one if the assets being privatized at the time. GEJ reluctanctly removed him in the interest of transparency.

Please use google if you want to confirm this. Thank you.

I was going to let him do his own research before helping him out if/as necessary.

Meanwhile, those who can reflect will understand why Jonathan's federal administration was LESS corrupt than the one of the APC navigator- Ebola Owu- despite the EFCC noise made by the Agbaya of Owu's paparazzi administration.

Excuse me sir, law was made for man and not man for the law, the present comptroller of customs is a retired colonel, everyone shouted on his appointment but PMB did not give a damn and now customs generates revenue in 3 months what they were making in 6 months earlier.

GEJ in his bid for re-election wanted to please everybody and make all happy even to the detriment of the nation, we were having regular power supply when Nnaji placed soldiers in charge of phcn infrastructure despite the rantings of labour, Diesel and generator distributors started crying and the power cabals through the vp sambo finally prevailed on GEJ to have Nnaji removed. Forget the transparency talk, GEJ should have walked around it as the C in C and protected his hardworking minister which is done all over the world.

What have we achieved with the so called transparency bullshit now?

You are just playing politics man, GEJ goofed and played into the hands of those who never wanted regular power. Am aware of all the issues that led to the Nnaji removal, its one of those politics the elites play in Nigeria when Govt policies seems to be in favour of the majority.

They have also succeeded in hoodwinking Fashola and this is what is playing out now, some of us are not fooled
Re: Power Sector Illegally Sold, Fashola Says by SergeAlain: 9:54am On Jun 01, 2016
Two things these people need to think about before they continue along this line:

1. How can a privatization program backed by the Power Reform Act (signed by OBJ) be illegal? Or do they mean the processes were not transparent? If so the solution is easy, examine the processes and reverse all that were not properly privatised.

2. We need to be wise and not play politics with dangerous things. Reversing the privatization would mean the following:
- Returning the monies used to buy the power assets to the investors (if it was peanuts then it should be very easy to return)
- Return the investments made so far by those companies, at least we all know they have been deploying meters, also some of them have repaired dormant turbines they met on ground
- Re engage about 40-50,000 PHCN staff who were wrongly laid off (after-all we are saying the privatization was illegal so obviously those who lost their jobs as a result must be brought back)
If the government is broke as Lai says, then i don't know how they will find the money to do all this!!!

Finally, i almost forgot -- Kiss goodbye to any hopes of private investment in this administration because anyone who invests now can be sure that any disgruntled politician can reverse his investment in another 4-8 years.

Trust me if this administration makes this mistake they would have doomed themselves to failure and cemented themselves in the minds of Nigerians as the most incompetent government ever, as this mis step will require not less than 20 years to reverse.

I wish them well as they make their decision!!! cool

gej booted out nnanji same way u guys forced him to boot out the late former nsa,Azazi cos they spoke some painful truth. Didnt the Npc former chairman, ojukwu got the boot as well for voicing out some secret truth that had bn going on for yrs @ the commission as regards lopsidedness in population numbers and census figures, didnt kwankwaso and other northerners call for his removal b4 he was forced to untimely resign? U mentioned Adesina, same disgrace wud have befallen him if he had spoken out as regards how emirs and rtd generals corner subsidised fertelisers in the agric sector more than he did..and besides,we all know the main reason and agenda behing pmb suggesting his promotion outta nigeria...

One Funny thing was that u guys never spoke or said a word against dasuki when he was nsa, like u fired late Azazi left right center, till pmb came and here u are talking about politics!
gej is done gone for petes sake! Cant we ever move ahead without him?
