By Jonathan's position, his jurisdiction was federal level and not state. You should channel state's achievements negative or positive to the previous governors

Are you ready to listen to what he did? It is unfortunate to ask those questions. GEJ is a Hero anyday. First GEJ ruled Nigeria for 5 years 3 Months and never 6 years! Let me give a brief of what he did. The East west road was taken from nothing to over 85% completion. Many sections have been completed, check from Warri to Patani to Bayelsa; go to oron axis; He establishes two Federal Universities- University of Otuoke and Maritime University, Okerenkoko; he brought a Law school to Niger Delta situated in Yenegoa. He ensured that people no longer sleep on Benin-Ore road by giving it a major overhaul. He gave some of the critical Ministries to the Niger Delta people for real work and more empowerment; He ensured that Bayelsa was hooked on to the National Grid; he establishe a deep sea port and a dock yard in the Niger Delta; he empowered the youths by re-inforcing the Amnesty programme. He ensured that NDDC gets its allocation to work and so on; apart from the general things that affect all parts of Nigeria, like refurbishing the Airports. Compare this with OBJ that ruled 8 years or IBB that rule 8 years.

Coastal railway from Lagos to calabar - not touched (even though he built a railway from kaduna to abuja, after his disciples will be call some people Hausa slaves )

No airport in bayelsa his home state even though one of his mistress said she built airports all over Nigeria

What exactly did he do to deserve being called a hero in the Niger delta?

If those avenger are not to creation they should hold him responsible for the underdevelopment of the Niger delta because he had 6 years to turn things around there.

i would safely assume that you are a yoruba man

What did Obasanjo do for the South-west in 8 years that make them respect him so much.
Nobody would dare to insult him in public because 96% of Yoruba's present will support him.

Deadlytruth:

While I agree that Jonathan did nothing for the SS but even claimed that he deliberately left the SS untouched because he did not want to be viewed as being partial, I however disagree with the notion that Yorubas did not sing OBJ's praises. I agree that some very stubborn and assertive Yorubas like Tinubu, Akande, etc never praised OBJ but gave him nightmares; I remember vividly that a lot of Yorubas began to fondly call him Baba wa (meaning our father) after it appeared he was "dealing" with the North by imprisoning Al Mustapha who probably killed MKO even though his incarceration of the man did not have any effect on any road in Yorubaland. Even during the days when Atiku and OBJ were at daggers drawn most Yorubas were fully in support of OBJ and they tried to create the impression that Tinubu was a traitor for romancing with a Hausa man (not minding that Atiku was not really Hausa) who was against their Egbon (brother). Yorubas hatred for Atiku back then was not about anything on the PTDF funds misuse and third term which were the real seeds of discord, but about their brother's tenure being threatened by a disrespectful and insurbordinate "Hausa man" VP to his Yoruba boss. My greatest surprise was that even though OBJ did all he could to forestall a restructuring/SNC which Yorubas had been demanding since Abacha days, they still continued to hail OBJ as Baba. Though I will be dishonest if I don't add that despite the Odi carnage even my own SS too continued to hail OBJ as a patriot and detribalized Nigerian until OBJ and GEJ fell out with each other over GEJ's release of Al-Mustapha and also his second term bid.
I used to have many enemies in the SS for my stand against the accolades being showered on OBJ. They would accuse me of never seeing anything good in him. But today they even hate him more than me. It is all an irritating level of hypocrisy and very unfortunate.
The SW controls the media and the media outlets never sing his praise except when he had running battle with Atiku and some northern elements, and that is understandable.

Till today, many Yorubas believe OBJ didn't perform well in office after eight years and that's the fact.

My broda! I will come back when u rephrase your question to ask what GEJ did for Nigeria in the five years of his being in power? Government is a continuum and not one administration can finish ALL that it set out to do. But u can ask Amaechi if Abuja-kaduna Rail Line Ready For Commercial Use In July, he will tellyou "YES". But the question is: Could the Buhari administration which is barely one year in power conceive and implement the project? NO! It was conceived in the GEJ administration! Many more were implemented and completed, some are in implementation process as we speak, while some will be completed in due time. The question is: What has Buhari conceived and started in this his first year?

First of all, YORUBAS, the day you stop thinking you are superior to every other ethnic group 70% of Nigerias problems in terms of National Unity is solved.

Secondly He was the president of Nigeria , not Niger Delta and not a tribalistic bigot to treat other humans as lower animals (YORUBAS HAUSAS are very guilty of this)

When he was the President over 600,000 Nigerians did not loose jobs in one year , Federal Ministries weren't owing. Struggled for LOCAL CONTENT ACT so that all Nigerians can be given more jobs in the oil sector - NOT ONLY NIGER DELTANS (even if yorubas benefit more) - All this certainly makes him a HERO

Ensured there was peace in the ND region so that life would be easy and all Nigerians can continue to feed from the Wealth of the Niger Delta Region- Even if the Yorubas will continue to remain ungrateful

Ensured that there was no food scarcity (even after 2012 floods that ravaged farmlands by practicing dry season farming to compensate for loss) and no fuel scarcity all over Nigeria in 5 years so that all Nigerians even the ones in Osun , Ondo and oyo states will not suffer.

The Yoruba is not superior to any other ethnic group in Nigeria - #Respect is Reciprocal

CERTAINLY HE IS A HERO!!!

I am not talking about the media. In fact the media, whether SW controlled or not does not sing anyone's praises. But I am talking of Yorubas I met everyday face to face as a Lagos resident. In my neighbourhood even some members of AC used to hail OBJ as the father of "modern" Nigeria despite all he was putting Tinubu, their party leader, through.
Even the SS persons who I claim were praising OBJ before he and GEJ fell out were people I knew face to face in my home community and not media men or women.
