No! I don't earn a dime here. I could if I wanna go menial. I will prefer to have GA which I am working towards to. So I get money from Nigeria. I saved enough. I planned that dollars won't be more than 250 naira but your president had changed everything within few months.

Moreso America like all other places is hard. You won't eat without working but it is relatively easier to get work. Still, Nigerians seem to make more here thru hustle. Many of their citizen dey suffer wella.

Is he not your own president too

Just less than two years that you left Nigeria, the president is no longer our president but your president..

No be small thing ooo

Work hard towards getting one. It sucks not to have one. Regular jobs are mostly in dining.

Lol. Seriously you guys with GAs are lucky. I still have to get all my money from Nigeria. Not from parents o but personal savings. House rent alone is about 180k per month.

But dickoflife, you are now very hyperactive since you got your visa. You use to be very humble. I use to pity u o.
i am always humble. i am just less busy.

Dear LagosNIV,

With sincerity and humility, I will like you to help on this issue again. More clerification we need sir.

Hello VO, I went for F1 interview last month and I was told by the consular officer that my visa is approved and I should pick it up in 3 days time. To my greatest surprised I found form 214b within my passport, saying denied. Any ideal what could have caused it. Thank you

Thanks

I've already addressed this - in this very thread. You should read back a couple of days.

I don't know it's almost impossible now to change naira to dollar from the _aboki like I did when I was coming until someone told me. What the hell is happening in Nigeria? It's sad that you guys are experiencing this even when you've decided to leave the country for the government.

@lazywriter Enjoy your stay and all the best

I had to ask because not only was I new there, there are like 4 different bus terminals and Google Maps sees them all as the same place. Lucky for me, I had enough airtime to call the Bus company.

I am not really sure because i havent filled both in years.

However i did sponsor a family member last month and i am very sure he asked me for my full address details for the ds160 form. Address yes but i am not sure if my telephone was included. I wasnt asked for that blc he had it anyway and just asked for my full house address

I think the house or those who have applied can answer what sponsor details is put on the ds 160

There is a checkbox to confirm whether the sponsor's address is the same with the applicant's address and I believe the applicant would be asked to fill in the sponsor 's address if it's different.

Greetings to all here that have been doing a great job so far. I am new on this thread and have read some of the transcripts here to get a sense of what to expect during the interview. Congrats to all who have gotten their visas so far.

My interview is on Wednesday, i got admitted to do a masters in advanced management at the Yale School of Management, i have some scholarship and a loan from an international loan provider (recommended by the school) covering the remaining fees and expenses. I was refused a students visa in 2005 when i wanted to go and do my undergraduate studies (something about not having supporting documents even though the CO never asked me for them). I just finished my MBA from LBS and so i am not working yet.

Please what are my chances looking like from all the collective experience here and are their areas from my profile above that i should be conscious of working on. Also as a student what sort of things do i need to show ties back home.

Thanks for your help.

Having no Test scores can work against you . To be a strong applicant you need GRE for masters .....
Also think about more substantial reasons why you picked that school and what the school can do for you . That previous answer is not very good . Stay away from one line response . Talk in breathe what the school can do for you and apply it to back to for the good of Nigeria

Yale is a very good school , however it is good if you have work experience and a solid plan regarding your future plan and path and you need to demonstrate that in the interview .

2005 rejection would not be a problem but You need to be able to sell yourself well, sell your journey and what the future holds for you if given . You definitely would be asked what have you been doing since and you need something substantial . Why that school is an easy answer if you prepare well because the name of the school sells itself

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I do have work experience, after my NYSC finished in 2012 i went on to work till 2014 when i left to do my MBA at Lagos Business school and i just finished that in April. I guess that takes care of what i have been doing since. Yeah the name of the school sells itself. I also don't have a test score to report because Yale has a partnership with Lagos Business School and so i was told that i could submit the score from my entrance examination to Lagos Business School which was sent by my school directly (as they dont give this to students).

Finally i am in the recruiting process for some well known global consulting firms for their Lagos office, will it help if i bring this up and perhaps print the email correspondences i have had with them about this.
