I have continually read people's post on this trend and prepared hard for possible questions and best possible answer.

I was however refused after so much preparation. Interview transcript below

VO: What are you going to do in the US
Me; I am going for Masters in Business Administration

VO: What are you doing now?
Me: I am customer care executive working with U-connect Niigeria Ltd

VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me; I am sponsoring myself

VO: If you complete your programme , what will u be doing when you come back
Me; I am taking a study leave and will be coming back to continue my job.

VO: What are the courses you will be doing?
Me: International Biz and soceity, Quantitative methods, Biz research methods

VO; she started typing for long and gave me the blue paper.

No document asked at all.
I had all my documents; Letter from my employers confirming I applied for study leave, Bank statement, payslips for 7months, Letter of employment for present and previous work place, Academic certificates, My marraige certificate and son's birth certificate.

Behold was another guy beside me shaking as he was answering questions from male VO and was granted his visa.

I intend applying again b4 my school resumes in August. Any advise

so sorry about this visa delay.
F 1 visa Interview as I have learnt is really based on your presentation and not on the documents you have with you.
Just to point a few things from your responses above.
firstly (bold). I think she was expecting to hear of the role you will be playing in 'the company' (what different the MBA will add to your role on coming back). in as much as we need to keep our responses short...we also need to answer correctly (give them what they want to hear, convince them). 'What will you be doing..?' taking a study leave and coming back answers nothing to the VO's question. you suppose shine here....

The second (bold), I'm sure those courses you mentioned has code.... like GEOL 522: history and philosophy of Geology, GEOL 511: advance structural Geology and so on. mention the courses like you are eager to start taking the MBA courses

In all, it might not even be the things I have pointed out...we need to look at your confident level...I hope you were looking into the VO's eyes? I hope you prayed seriously for this? I hope the is really the right course for you at this time.

Let the gurus in the house talk...I'm only a baby here.

Transcripts are testimonies! Why will anyone not want to share his/her testimonies??
Mr Gunter, you do not answer people's questions, you only answer it a stupid way when the person is damn serious and you only know how to attack people.

Devote yourself more on answering people's questions . other peeps supporting you answer other people's questions except you!
Don't be the one to chase people away from this thread.
If you cannot answer simple question, don't answer it with sarcasm, when the other person is serious.

I have more words for you but then i'm inside the bank trying to learn the rate.

Kai! I have seen you finish!! So you consider those going to TTU less important

Good morning all, just my sincere suggestion.
If you are coming to this thread for the sole purpose at which it was created for (US Student Visa), I see no reason why you shouldn't give back.
If you don't feel comfy to share transcript until you pick up you passport...please and please, wait till you collect it before telling us is been approved. I'm sure some people are just too scared to post immediately so they wont expose their lies here (thinking LagosNIV will spot them)....fine. please collect it first and be sure you really got the visa before telling us.... meaning if you must tell us, be ready to share full transcript (and not bla bla bleep ) you can claim your lies to be true...I don't care.

And for those that wont even mention it at all (approved or delayed) many of them are here...that's fine too... Let's not judge anyone again.
Life is simple and straight...if you want to keep collecting ...please, come and collect info .... if you want to give back...fine and God bless you.

The 10 lepers Jesus healed in Luke 17:11-19...remember it was only 1 out of the 10 that came back to appreciate.

Live and let live

Beautiful day my people

Sorry bro but you deserve a knock on the head if you've been here before and couldn't tactically respond to the VO's questions intelligently. grin

How did you get to know this school was where you messed up big time. Good faculty ratio, great professors, blah blah blah don't work anymore and the VOs are tired of hearing that.

And to couple it up, she asked if you took the GRE test. Why bringing up IELTS? You pissed her off and so, didn't continue with you.

Just brace up coz i know for sure, you will get it next time. Sorry bro.

Please I need to learn or perhaps perfect my driving skills before I go for the driving test but I want to know if there is a way to get learners permit to enable me practice on the road or even in school without having problem with police incase stopped.
Imperiouxx, slimmy2005, msnas and others that have idea on this please help.

You have to take a written test which is for the permit, and if you pass that you get a learners permit and you can drive with that but someone must be next to you and this someone must be 21 with a valid drivers license, it's easy to perfect your driving here you have all the road signs

Sorry to read this .... some feedback

Yes it okay to sponsor yourself if u can show evidence but i would NEVER EVER recommend it.....

The VO knows the cost of doing MBA is most schools is a lot and they know the average earning of most applicants coming for visa so to actually sponsor the whole cost is almost impossible for most applicants. .. they live in Nigeria and see the suffering and hustle....while it is possible how many people can actually pay full 2 years with housing . thats a red flag . Most MBA are expensive

Then to say u come back to same job. ...hummm MBA is suppose to be used for career progession. If it to continue then why spend all that money. I would have recommended a much better answer of how with those acquired managerial and leadership skills u do such and such ..even if its within d same company but if u say u aim to apply for a more senior position within same company would have been better...or how most of the key executives in the company have Mba and u see the impact they played in building the company and u aim to be like that.

Thridly most schools have the exact curriculum. It best to state it for word and not give generic courses ...

All the best if u apply again .

Calfavour already gave you quality advice, from your transcript you were trying to emphasize your documents, You have a study leave, you are coming back to your job while vo's are into that I find it better to concentrate on the academic side of things, Why you chose the school over others, The depth of the curriculum citing specific cutting edge research been done in the school... The fact that youbare on a study leave does not mean you will come back and yes it helps if you wrote GMAT you never mentioned that also that self sponsorship thing left me scratching my head... Customer care executive at Shell Uconnect self sponsored for an MBA program really ?

It's sad to see the way the thread has turned out,I came on here first in 2011 and applied for fall 2011. Never knew the thread was as strong as it were,I can't even log in to my old account. Shout out to Waledudu,Kunlebal,Snazzygirl,Imperiouxx, webstradamus,MsNas,to mention a few. These were men who held down the thread with valor and matured minds. Most of them got their visas, deactivated their accounts and left in order to avoid been insulted by a new comer here. F1 visa is not the end people,my advice it's not about the amount of money you spend on education here after graduation, when it comes to job offers.American citizens will be considered first in most corporations. It's about God's favor here. I came on here with the mind of going to school but after my first year I found out I could hardly pay my tuition nor buy books or pay rent for my apartment. I had to drop out of school, found labor jobs with the help of God sent people I was paid 10dollar an hour,my boss was happy with my determination and interest to learn more and increased my pay from 10 to 20 an hour. I saved and was able to pay my bills. Today,am proud to say I have a good job,was able to finish my schooling, set my siblings back in Nigeria straight and have a pretty American wife. America is a blessed country and so much for everyone. Just hold on to your God and he will favor you by meeting the right people. Goodluck to those who got their visas recently, the journey just started.

While we are trying to help each other, we should also encourage TRUTHFUL transcripts. When he did his busy body and called me out, I told him that I told small lie in my interview and it will not be nice posting it.. Can't he just understand that having done that I am trying to help this thread and other future applicants??

Hello to the gurus in the house, hierarchically i salute y'all...firstly, I think the motive and the topmost priority of this group is to assist and guide each other based on F1 visa, interview etc. Please let's not derail this thread and exterminate the spirit. I can't believe am the one giving my fellow corp members information and guide on how to go about their admission processes, thanks to the useful information i gathered on here. Recently, i log on to the USA embassy site (Nigeria) they suggest interested applicants should visit Nairaland.com for more info, i was surprised and that alone means you guys are trying. Please we appreciate you guys, it is only Allah who rewards one's for his/her good deeds. I'm not trying to be a saint here, neither am i here to bore you with my epistle. But believe me, anything worth doing at all, is what doing well...

yes ofcourse
so bro, what are the chances of getting a good paying job in us after your studies.
especially in engineering field ( aerospaceengineering to be precise)
hope one doesn't end up using his expensive certificate to do menial jobs.thanks

I dont know much about aerospace but if it engineering make sure you are part of NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) from beginning . Find out when they have their annual conference and book your ticket even if it is not popular in your school. Have your Resume ready and prepare well for interviews . Make sure you tap into that network during the conference by selling urself well and pass your Resume to everybody . ... Start with aiming for internship in NSBE conference to get your foot in

**Next one is in Kansas City, MO in April 2017 ..... If you are doing Engineering , book your ticket now , lol .
