I know you mean to say opportunities but then US in this context has already tied the legal opportunites in this aspect.
Other english speaking destination except UK, have clear cut route to settlement and longer graduate work permit durations after studies though nothing is guaranteed but they are there.

The one drving me nuts now is that F1 student cannot legally work off campus, i dont know about you but im a law abiding citizens who intends to achieve his goals within the tents of the provided law.
How the hell do you tell international students not to work off campus after paying such huge amount for money. And then 12months after they should be on there way back home?

Bros even Germany gives 20hrs per week and 40hrs on academic breaks.
The problem we have in this country is lack of information. How can u say students do not work off campus in the UK? Who gave u such information? Those that are working while studying nkor? And who told you after 12months u will be on ur way back. biaaaaa...get ur information right so that people don't get wrong view about UK studies. After your 12months of study, u have an additional 4months to stay back of which people work. People work during studies, and many finish their coursework even 2 to 3 months before the one year and have adequate time to work. Inasmuch as the post study policy has changed in the UK, stop making it look like students don't work in the UK. Policies are bound to change anywhere in the world, afterall it wasn't like this some years back in the UK.

Many have a different picture. They think say once they enter JFK, automatically they go receive credit alert.. your account has been credited with $50,000. Man u gat to work it out real hard wherever you are. Even if Australia, without hardwork u will sleep on the streets, man. Life comes with options.

Speak for yourself, don't assume the picture of what you don't know. You the one working for me in Nigeria? have you ever worked in your life? I only followed up on a question raised by Observant, don't be faster than yourself.

I wonder why he is running to US to study and not Australia but he is trying to advise people to try Australia

Well, I am not "running" to US. I applied to Bond University but was told I will be contacted by their Nigeria agent and never get to hear back from them. I started the application process late that was why I could not apply to more schools. If not for the immigration rules I think I would have preferred UK to US. I am not a fan of Yankee if you may know.

I don't need you to do that, just don't go ahead of yourself next time. We all have our different plans , don't assume or try to drag someone on the ground by making your point. Not everyone is spending their "daddy's money"!

The rules have been here, a Serbian guy in my school was taken out of status last week for working off-campus this summer.
Out of status na very bad experience.
Germany is not an English speaking country, secondly, it's very difficult working there when you don't speak their language

Good Afternoon,

I got admission from a uni in NY, the total fee for the four semester program is about $65800, which I feel is astronomical . I have about 20m personally, I think that will cover for the first year fees and living cost.

Will it be wise to spend that amount on a Masters program ? I was thinking if I get to US, then probably transfer to a sch that will cost less, in spring ( is this possible? ). But on the other hand, what will I be doing from September to January.

I also have offer from a good UK uni, maybe I could just go with that?

Ideas please, cc Walspring , LagosismyHome
You can't be in states from September to January without been enrolled in class, if not, you will be out of status.
I will advice you postpone everything to spring for a better preparation

Ogbeni good morning.
We were talking about F1 U.S visa.
I know nothing about UK, im sure why you are talking about UK.
F1 states that students are not legally allowed to work off campus, only on campus.

and only STEM graduates get 24months extension on graduation non Stem programs get 12 months.

So everyone going to US to study have there expenses 100% covered? Both tuition and living expenses

Abeg people like me who have 70% tuition and 30% lving expenses how do you people make up your funds?

It can aid in lil stuffs like bills and feeding but its not advisable depending on it for tuition

Thats why i recommend people picking schools based on their Budget , especially if you dont get a Graduate assistance for full tuition or maybe school fit allow u pay instate tuition(hard so u have to check their rules based on ur grades) . .. If you can get a GA or scholarship that would really help . If you cant then you can only hope to get a job on campus (that na 50/50 gamble). Some people get some dont get oncampus job

A job on campus is limited to 20 hours a week during school term so that would at best if you get all 20hours cover maybe rent and extra food money (about $800 t0 $1k a month depending on the school hourly rate) ..It will not cover rent , food and then tuition
" People are making up" by carrying more gbese from Nigeria but hoping it would pay off in a good job offer (that too na 50/50 gamble) but what can you do . Them don scatter our Country for us , things getting worse everyday no job too so na unto what next

Life is about risk and hoping for the best that God will bless your hustle.

There are many reasons why people ask questions.
I wanted to apply to Australia but my family and sponsor wanted US, so i have applied for schools in both countries. My i20 for SNHU should be out soon thats why i started looking at the F1 visa restriction and capabolities .

I think you used BCIE for your SNHU..

If you have the full money for SNHU no problem ,
if you have GA or something off no problem ,
If you have a particular reason why you must be in this city no probem
The degree you want is only done here or its ranked no 1 ...........

but if it is NO NO NO NO to all above, There are other states to mention one among others (Texas) where the Tuition for one year would be less than 10k the value of SNHU tuition.

You are damn funny because you didn't apply to Australia and you are here campaigning for people to apply there while you applied to a school in US and got admitted..

Anyway everyone has his/her own dream to follow.

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge......Hosea 4:6

CC safex101 Carry go , me i won learn joor

Abeg allow him to advice others off opportunities out there so people can make informed decision and pick the best opportunity for them . The US path to citizenship gives me a headache as if u follow the "straight-path" , its not as simple or easy as it looks for everybody and F1 -H1B- GC - C route can take ages .

If Australia provides good or better opportunities but people are running to the US maybe its because of lack of Knowledge ....... Someone can only advice and show you whats our there , your destiny is in your hands, as na you go pick follow where your dream leads you to ..

Yes i did, they actually introduced me to it after CanadA bounced my application.
Like i said, started scouting another destination, perosnally i wanted to apply to australia but i received zero moral support from my entire family, including the one living Canada. So i opted for US without really knowing the capabilities and rsstrictions of the F1 visa.
Snhu also appeared quit cheap (22,000-25,000usd) and i never taught US would restrict students from working.

I have 70% of tuition and 30% living cost for my study duration but i dont want a situation where finance would drive me from completing my MS.

Do you know anyone in SNHU, abeg how new hampshire dey? I heard its 90% white.
