At my age then, I got absorbed by the happenings in the book that it almost reflected in my life physically as I was constantly wearing a sad face then.


You know, at that time, any book one happens to find oneself reading, all one's imagination would be seasoned and directed by the book until one picks up another book.
Besides, that "Joys of Motherhood" is/was a heavy book with very tiny text such that would discourage a dull/lazy reader.
Hehehe...

Only that the end...at least...would have been joyous like the Drummer boy.

If I'm to be honest, I've read only about 12 of the books here, and thanks ishilove for the walk down memory lane, growing up in the 90s, I consider that a blessing.

Growing up, I was reading only African authors, no foreign books. That was all I was provided with then, mostly pacesetters.

My all time favorite was and would be 'the cyclist' I can't remember the author though.

The next one was 'no condition is permanent.' A really unique plot. These are books I would read over and over again.

I remember that book. It's a stark contrast between the rich and the poor.

Oh Ishilove!! Such a trip down memory lane. I wish I could just touch each picture here and have the book appear in my hands.
Oh and the virtuous woman, I remember that it was about two girls who got admission in a secondary school far from home. They ended up travelling with two handsome boys and while one of the girls threw herself at the boys, the other reserved one (Nana I think) was being chased by all the boys. They had an accident, one of the boys died (I think), and Nana fell in love

Richard and his mother in law were cut from the same cloth. But the part I love most in the book was after 7 years, Richard's voice could still make Mina go gaga. Really touching

I have read most of the books listed. I used to borrow from my friends in Literature class then. Kai Literature sweet die. I must really commend writers like Cyprain Ekwensi, who writes about people and things that are outside their region. He did a great work writing Mallam ilia and an African night entertainment. Most writers would often stick to their own region. Its not bad though
