This can only work for those who haven't been denied visa before or have been denied visa for more than 7 months

That's sad. Never knew the person had a denial within this period.

I'm 24. I don't want to talk research, because I'm not going for a masters programme
LagosismyHome:

Sorry for your delay ........ The VO gave you feedback and it lies in your answers , nothing stood out and that last on in bold is a BIG NO NO ....with your course there is so much to talk about from a research perspective and linking it up with Nigeria and the value u can bring lateron. For the VO to keep saying rehearsed speech , he or she was giving you an opportunity to redeem with the next question but it never came

That faculty ratio thing needs to go , why do people still say that . It is a standard in almost all schools so doesn't set any school apart ....... why you choose a school is what set it apart from others or what is unique to that program that interest you .. Also going for undergrad you have to be within a certain age range ..... How old if you dont mind me asking ?

VISA delayed this morning

Me: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning, pass me your passport and I-20
VO: how did you learn about university of Maine.
Me: l used google for my search which in turn introduced me to Peterson guide. Peterson database includes over 50,000 accredited schools (cuts in)
VO: you are giving me a rehearsed speech I don't want that.
VO: why did you choose te university of Maine?
Me: I applied to three schools I was offered admission into all. I chose the university of Maine cos I was given my preferred course of study.
VO: cuts in again you are giving me a rehearsed speech.

VO: why did you choose university of Maine?
Me: UM has one of the lowest student to faculty ratio of 16:1 which gives me easy access to my professors and it's affordable by my sponsor.
VO: says you know what
Let's just continue
Do you have any relatives in the US?
Me: No
Types for a while and gives me the blue paper.

Please guys, I am going for an undergraduate degree in clinical laboratory science and medical technology.
What could be wrong with my answers?

I intend on getting another appointment or next week ,my schools resumes 23rd of August

Thanks guys.

Lagosismyhome has said it all, and I always say this" once you have the floor, do not hesitate in bringing your audience to the knowledge your peculiar research interest". This is very impt because you can link it to all kind of questions.

That your first misconception if you feel research is for only those going for masters program ......... when i mean research it doesn't mean you are discovering the cure of HIV , but simple stuff in relation to the first degree and its application to Nigeria .

That gives a more in depth into your future goals than saying student faculty ratio

Also see the course you are going for , it has a good element of research. : undergraduate degree in clinical laboratory science and medical technology. So if you dont want to talk about research then hummmmm maybe you need more homework on this degree and its application

Sorry about your delay but to be sincere and candid with you really blew up your interview yourself and that was why you are denied because the VO logically try to stop you for saying what (s)he have been hearing before and want you to say something unique since the course are going for only few applicant apply for it in each session.

I would advise you to sit back and relax and work on your lapses.

This is a wrong thought my brother..

It seems you don't know anything about your course at all..

If you thinking you don't want to talk about research how about the research the school does that is related to your course one way or the other

Did you check your school departmental or faculty website to know more about your school and course

If not you need to do that and research well about your school and course as well

Pls to those in US already... As an F1 student visa holder with family in the US on F2, is my wife entitled to Medicare should she get pregnant and want to deliver in the US? We will both be on health insurance and I will probably be paying tax with a SSN. Pls those that have experience either first hand or second hand should pls advice to enable me plan ahead of time grin cool. Thank you.

Please make sure under no circumstances that you use medicare/medicaid while you have a non immigrant visa because you and your wife will be banned from entering the United States once your visa expires, my wife gave birth in 2014 to our second child in the US and since then our visas had expired and we obtained another set of multiple visas via drop box which we haven't utilized yet, i got admission for Msc in the US and when i went for my interview at the embassy which i was prepared for, they kept asking me about my wife and my kids and where she put to bed and how much we paid and if she received medicare? I said she didn't receive medicare but I didn't bring any of the receipts for her delivery or itemized medical billing because we were reissued b1/b2 visas after the one which she used to give birth expired in 2015 and since they accepted and renewed our visas without asking questions , i felt we were covered.

I was wrong and was however rejected an f1 because i did not bring any documentary evidence, i was later told to submit my passport, her medical itemized billing and with proof that she didn't receive medicaid/ medicare before the visa was approved so please beware because they will throw medicare at your face since you qualify for it even as a foreigner but the story at the embassy will be different because once they establish you used it and the government picked the tab you will be banned for about 15-20 years.... shocked shocked embarassed cry
