Seriously speaking.. Pressure Cookers should come with a bin caveat on the side of them. I knew about the dangers of pressure cooker when I was little and out family friends househelp got badly burnt by one. I remember my mum packing all her pressure cookers and storing them away and never using them for a very long time. The OP is very lucky, It could have been a whole lot worse. 1 Like |

Next time you will remove the pot unopened from gas, hot plate cooker or stove etc. and open water on top of the pot to cool down the pressure before you open it. If not say I suffered similar burnt while trying to pry open a pot of steaming rice on fire which had cling film over it, I for say you de lie buh then it could have been worst. You were dealing with a pressure cooker whose pressure is akin to that of a car tire. I'm sure you've seen a car tyre burst before ....imagine you had your face close to the tyre bursting. Next time ensure you run cold water over the pressure cooker lid and the red button goes down before attempting to open it cooling it first helps reduce the heat and pressure inside it. 1 Like 1 Share |
