From September 20th
Does your travel date matter in date availability?

Can these info be updated on already submitted formhuh
Don't know of that oh! I think Seyewest may have an idea or two as touching that. This one is geared towards information retrieval after submission if need be.

Oh! Was wondering. Just seeing Seye's capital "No Never", actually thought this was what we were on back and forth that day that this matter came up here oh. Misconception here and there that likely was then.

If someone is to travel by 25th september to attend a program and the earliest date is 22nd september can the individual apply for emergency?

LadyG NOOOOOOOO what I'm saying is that you can print ds160 page after submitting it so far you've not done the interview not EDIT it.

A trip back to our discussions on this subject matter from pages 98-100 will suffice bruv! Do you still remember I pressed you for a particular code/way round at some time then? It was the assumption that there was a key to editing an already submitted DS160 that we were on then Na. Noticed just today that we were all not in perfect sync on the exact topic area in our minds, a few misconceptions here and there that ws.

What program? Funeral of an immediate family member, medical emergency, student, urgent business, are but about the few grounds on which you can apply for an expedited appointment. Definitely not on birthdays, marriages, graduation and church programs et al grounds oh

I'm still trying to reconcile the above with the previous posts...

seyewest:
The ISSUE IS THIS:
-You have a DS160 FORM you submitted and you want to correct it even though you've submitted it
Well you can change it... from the cgifederal site so you won't have 2 different ds160 when you go for interview.
Is that what we are talking about? YES OR NO?
seyewest:
Not a submitted ds160 form but a submitted ds160 number can be replaced in the appointment site by yourself.
seyewest:
when you do that... The US embassy will still have your previous info... but by filling another form and re submitting it.. You've erased the previous DS160.
I will like to share it but the embassy will stop us from using it and I feel like we can help people with this small knowledge instead of waiting for the email which can sometimes take up to 12 hours.
So the conclusion is that once a ds160 is submitted
1. Only the embassy can change/edit/swap/correct mistakes
2. The form can be viewed only but before the interview and not after?

@omobendel that was changing DS160 Number from appointment website with another DS160 not editing already submitted DS160.

Dear Freedah,
I do cherish people with great ideas......mostly people who knew where things were wrong wit them and who seek for remedy.Thank God u realised that the conference you chose was nt in any way tally with ur career, and course of study and no travelling history.
U are difrrent frm some folks that we come up here and asking silly questions why they were denied visa,as if Lady G and other gurus went with them to the interview.
Wishing u d best in ur next application

like i said i knew.
but wanted to finish what i started.
the truth is if i had already submitted my application before reading through.
could have changed it.
i knew i had a 50-50 chance
i also asked a visa agent who is my friend what are my chances, the way he answered me i knew i had goofed.
even me while answering the questions yesterday i felt stupid.
would have put vacation sef, would have stood a better chance.thanks once again.

good morning house,
I started following this thread few days ago, nd it's really been awesome learning frm people's experience

please I need someone to shed more light this issue

I have my brother's wedding celebration to attend in the US on 24th of September
but I schedule my appointment before submitting the ds - 160 application form so as get enough space prior the interview, but fortunately I got 13th of September as my interview date. but I'm yet to submit the ds - 160 application.

1. scheduling appointment before submission of ds - 160, hope it's not detrimental?
2. the time frame btw my interview nd intended date of departure (22nd), wat effect does ave on my chance

though, I ave good job nd good pay, parents nd other siblings are here, but I'm single

1. If it is detrimental, is there anything you can do about it considering you are asking after the fact?
2. Only God can answer that one

hello,

I had my B1/B2 visa refused today under section 214/b. I heard the VO officer say she noticed some inconsistencies in what i said during my first visa interview which was denied last year and what i said earlier today. Does that mean i’m permanently banned?
Your response will be much appreciated.

You may not be banned if the have written 214b.

The discrepancy WILL have been noted on your record and will need very careful explaining if you apply again.
If not a ban it is a black mark against you.

here is the transcript of what transpired btw me and the VO
VO: Good morning Sir,
me: Morning
VO: Can i have your passport please?
me: of course
Vo: Why are you travelling to the US?
me: To attend the fourth annual conference on Bleep
vo: How many days you staying?
me: 5 days
vo: how long have you been in this country?
me: two years
VO: What do you do?
me: I'm a student- I'm in the final semester of a Master's prog in SDM.
Vo: Who is paying for the trip?
me: Myself- I did a summer job at Mercedes where i was able to save a considerable amount of money.
vo- Do you have any family member here?- i was gonna say no but i ended up saying yes(a distant relative-my uncle ...my dad's brother...i was just stuttering- coz the first time i applied, the vo gave me a blue paper immediately i answered no to that question
vo: he's been in this country for how long?
me: about 7 years now
Vo: You see, the American immigration system is a bit strict and i'm convinced that you are not qualified at this time.
me: Well, i applied last year, your colleague said the same thing. VO jumps in" i can see you were once refused a visa i also noticed some inconsistencies in the information provided.

** In my two applications, i didn't mention that my fiancé lives permanently in the US. We have intentions of getting married next year.Should i reapply before we get married or should i just wait until she files for me?

Thanks

I I deduce that you have 'padded' your transcript. You have glossed over the issue of the inconsistent information which I know fully well you know what it is.
The truth is that until you face that ish, whether na by B visa or by filing, you will not be given an entry clearance.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by kapela3: 7:02pm On Aug 10, 2016
Of course not...I didn't pad it. What i noticed is that the first time i applied, i was studying economics and finance which i filled in my application, but late last year, i changed my program and i filled in the new course in the new application. In the first application, i told the VO i didn't have anyone in my country of residence, during my second interview i told the vo i have someone here.

Also, i made some errors in the first ds-160 form that i submitted, i then cancelled my appointment and submitted a new ds-160 although there were some discrepancies in the information i filled in the first and the second ds-160 form regarding my income in the first one, i filled in €1120, in the second one i filled in €520- reason being that i have a student job that pays €520 and an account with the govt where i get €670 monthly.

could these be the inconsistencies she was talking about?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by siina(m): 7:05pm On Aug 10, 2016
Previous denial/Lack of change in circumstances since previous denial. Consular officers often reflexively defer to a previous denial, citing to a lack of change in circumstances. Obviously, there may be personal or political considerations as well. This may occur even if an applicant is re-applying within days of the original approval, presenting new evidence. “What has changed since your last application?” is a common initial question. A widespread myth among applicants is that if they change the purpose of their trip — instead of going to visit Disneyworld, they decide to enroll in an ESL program — they will increase their chances of obtaining a visa. In doing so, they are of course digging their own visa “grave” deeper, exhibiting desperation, which may reflect on their ability to get a visa for years to come.....culled

No idea. Only she and you can know. But any inconsistency no matter how minute u think it may be casts aspersions on your intergrity and genuineness (I dunno if such a word exists sha)

Excellent. Where did u extract this from?
I wish folks can understand that change in circumstance is different from purpose of trip.

Cc:Fareedah please be careful to note that distinction when reapplying. Your ties (in my opinion ) weigh more than purpose of trip. If you hol' your side well, you can decide to go for a conference on global warming or on if dragons exist.
Take for example, if Uncle Dangote should apply for a visa to go for a conference on the possibility of dinosaurs making a comeback (God forbid cheesy) he'll just be considered an eccentric person. But will that make the vo deny him? Most prolly not because he has more in Nigeria than in the US
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by kapela3: 7:16pm On Aug 10, 2016
would you advise i reapply again to clarify this inconsistency issue once and for all? i really don't mind paying another visa fee
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by kapela3: 7:22pm On Aug 10, 2016
i'm currently studying sustainable development management and the conference i wish to attend is about sustainable development. i also filled in the form that i was a student volunteer at a the recently concluded SBE16 conference. It's so disheartening that none of these were considered.

No. GIVE IT TIME.
Did you not read siina's post?
FyI being a student is a weak tie. Plus you lack ties in Nigeria.
